Home safe and sound, cooling off in the pool. Nice meeting everybody, nice to put some faces to the names, even if I will forget most of the names by this time tomorrow. Hey! Where was the ice cream? Lol Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Hoping to pull out of my place around 8, weather is looking great and the 407 is free, should be a good ride. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I was thinking about attending this M&G, have never been to one before, would be nice to meet some of the peeps that are posting on the forum, and being only 2 hours away I was still undecided, but free ice cream, I am sure someone said free ice cream...that might clinch it. That explains why I have been having trouble tracking them down.

Everybody has their own opinion of exactly how loud, and what tone their motorcycle exhaust should have, my RSV was quiet as a mouse, now it sounds like a small block V8, nice rumble unless I hit it, as far as loud pipes annoying riders behind me I usually ride with a few friends that ride Harleys, my RSV is still quiet compared to them, I usually let them ride up front, if I run upfront and start to pull away the boys have trouble keeping up. lol The Monster Ovals do set up a bit of a drone at highway speed, have to see after a long haul or two if it is annoying enough for some baffles.
-
Installed the monster ovals, ended up using P-clamps to the saddle bag rails. Love the look, thought they were a little too loud at first but I have grown to like them, will see how the wife and I feel after a few long haul trips this summer, if the drone starts to bother us I may have to track down a set of those smart baffles but so far so good.

What a handsome collection of bikes, shame we didn't make it, maybe next year. Great pics.

I am getting ready to install some Monster Ovals as well, quick question, to set them up for the bracket for the MOs at 2 inch instead of 3 1/2 which point in your template remained static, #1 or #2 ? For the life of me I can't seem to find a template that shows this correctly for the MOs on a Venture, I assume #1 remains static with a distance of 2 inch on center with 2. Figured I better ask to be sure, usually when I assume things don't go well. Thanks

One question... ...I have found the templates in the tech section for both straight and L bracket to mount RK Slip-On, I am mounting Monster Ovals and have seen some posts that claim the mount on an RK is offset for the Monster Ovals. So question is will the templates in the tech section work for the Monster Ovals? Is there a different template I need to track down? Thanks guys Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Want to avoid headaches, thanks for the link and video.

Finally got myself a set of Monster Ovals off Kijiji, great shape, nice price. Now to scour the forum and track down the baffles, clamps, and brackets I am going to need to put these babies on. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I think I know what I am going to check out on the Venture today.

Maybe, Just Maybe!

What? No ABS And what will I do with all these cassette tapes I have been collecting? just saying -
I am still trying to decide on a slip on, ran into another biker on the weekend with nasty boyz , I can understand why they are called nasty boys, little too loud for me. Monster ovals sound nice but seem very expensive, like just about anything that us Canadians need shipped from the US. Fortnine has Rush slipons for a nice price with good reviews, does anybody have a set of these on their Venture? https://fortnine.ca/en/rush-performance-slip-on-exhaust Thanks for the input folks.

Riders Plus wanted almost $1900, told me to come back once I have my M. I understand that I am a new rider and as such should pay accordingly, but even with years of experience $1200 so you can ride maybe 6 months does seem a bit ridiculous, especially when compared to what some US riders are paying. I could only dream of insurance that cheap, my Venture is $1500, full coverage with collision, spotless record but only had my bike licence for 8 months or so. Insurance, just add it to the long list of items that Canadians get ripped off. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

You can find a number of ride like a pro videos on YouTube that cover slow speed as well as other topics, give you a taste of what they have to offer if you decide to pick up one of their DVD sets. I learned a lot from their videos.

I am hoping I like them as well. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

...of the pipes that is. Looks like my first upgrade to my 08 Venture will be exhaust, the stock pipes are just too quiet, looking for a little rumble, not so loud as to be annoying on long runs. After much searching here on the forum and elsewhere it looks like the Baron 4-2-4 is the way to go, any suggestions or recommendations before I lay out some cash would be welcomed. Also if anyone has had any issue with the Baron's that would be good to know. Thanks Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

If only we could all be so lucky!

With the nice weather yesterday and today here in Ontario I have been itching to take the Venture for a run, but have resisted the urge, what with salt and sand collecting up in the corners and snow still on the ground it seems like a bit of a risk for a couple of hours of enjoyment. The wife was non too happy when I expressed the urge to take a ride after seeing a couple of other bikes on the road, lucky for me the Venture is up on a stand, bit of a pain to take it off the stand for just one run, guess I can wait another month or so.
-
That's what I need, once I retire, which is still a ways off, I have to move somewhere that they have never heard of snow.
-
Damn, that was a pretty expensive tow job.

Spring? I have had more than my fill of snow and cold weather, and it is only the second week of January, 68 days will seem like an eternity. Teach me for living in the Great White North.
