  1. I purchased a Clearview XL a couple of years ago. Had the "Honda" vent installed. Have to say I didn't notice much of a difference with the vent open as opposed to closed (IMHO). I did notice compared to the stock shield it's a lot softer and scratches much more easily. Put the stock shield back on after a couple of weeks. Sold the clearview to a happy Venturer for about 1/2 price. Cleaning the stock shields I spray it with "Invisible Glass" and wipe with a soft cloth. When I did this with the Clearview it was scratched. The stock shield is "Lexan" which has a hard coating over the the base product thus scratches less again IMHO. My 2 cents:cool17:
  2. We've seen the bike now let's see the GameCock
  3. I ordered some blue direct from colorite for my 07 blue/black. Had a pretty good road rash on the fairing from tipping over on that steep drive @ the Deals Gap place. Kinda got stopped sideways. Tried to set it down easy but it was so steep it rolled all the way over. Anyways, took it to a friend of a friend he did some patching and blended the paint without painting the whole front half of the fairing. You can't even tell. http://venturerider.org/forum/picture.php?albumid=634&pictureid=4001 http://venturerider.org/forum/picture.php?albumid=634&pictureid=4000

  7. Rode a Honda Sabre 1100 V-twin prior to this, took acouple of weeks to get used to the shifting / rpm ranges. Now I just crank it.

  9. Here's my new custom seat. The materials are easy to find and assembly is about 2-3 minutes. Just kidding, Had my seat Down to Rick getting the "Butt Butler" treatment and the weather here in SE Michigan was pretty darn good for early April (70-80 deg) I just couldn't let it set in the garage. Alittle hard on the tailbone but I got in about 70 mileshttp://venturerider.org/forum/picture.php?albumid=634&pictureid=3949

  12. I've read a lot on just about everything here. Have received a ton of info and appreciated it all. Made a lot of upgrade decisions and changes from all the info here. All has been great. Put on some Baron Risers over the past couple of weeks along with some other upgrades which I'll write about later. My question is, I have no problem with my cable lengths and the risers but, the risers hit the black plastic switch cover prior to the stops. Does anyone else have this issue and if so, what if anything have you done to correct it. Thanks
  13. What is the date of this MD we're discussing? Wouldn't mind a carb sync myself, 16,000 and not done one yet.
  14. I had 14000 on my 404's when I replaced them last June. Put on Mitchlin Commanders. 300 installed. I have heard talk of 2 different types of rubber in the 404's, one softer than the other, just what I have heard, no personal knowledge.
  15. That's why I always roll up the windows and lock my car. I don't want some punk to ruin my day.
  16. I just took mi Sleepers off this morning, guess I'm getting old. I'm going to put an add on here $300 + shipping. They were new in spring '08, in great shape and have new tips. (Bub replaced them this spring because of the flacking off of chrome.) If your interested send me an email or pm.
  17. I just put on a set of Michelin Commanders as I had 14,000+ on the Dunlop 404's that came on my 07 RSV. I hoping that in about another 14,000 I'll be able to give a report on the Commanders.
  18. HOLY CRAP! I hope no one sees my 07 RSV in the Haul I'm planing on using the 1st week of August to trailer down to the Smokies. Fact is, ol' lady will ride 200+ day if we end up at home but refuses to do a trip. I figure we can trailer down and ride 200 a day in the smokies, as long as we're back at the motel that night. I also trailered down to Datona this spring with a couple of HD guys. I want to enjoy my vacation and ridin' 3 days in rain and snow don't sound like much fun. I wonder what the HD riders were thinking when they saw me trailering my brand new 07 home from the dealer that was 200 miles from home. Then again I wonder what they would be thinking if they knew it was $14,838.00 out the door. Trailers have a purpose. With an HD it's a toss up: is it broke or just being transported? Just my 2 pennies
  19. I've been using "Invisible Glass" in the aerosol can for the last 2 years I've owned this bike. Spray it on and let is soak for a couple of minutes and wallah, bugs and crap just wipe away using a soft clean cloth of course.
  20. Replaced mine a couple of weeks ago. Left one came off pretty easy, not the right..... was another story. beat i and beat it and beat it.... finally success. Put the new warranty replacements and and will hope for the best. Talked with the cutie @ the BUB booth in Daytona this past March and she said they have a new process. I hope it works better than the old one. If the chrome comes off again, I'm going to have them powder coated black.

My cousins (I & II) are big in to the HD (hundred dollars) and 2 of them bought matching 08 Ultra's. Now the younger on will "race" with me and were about even. Keeping in mind that I have about $16,500 in my 07 that I bought for $14,780 new out the door and added some extras ( bag rails, truck rack, BUB sleepers, Diamond R back rest, passing lights, turn & headlight visor, hd tail lights & highway pegs). They, on the other hand paid about $21,000 and another $1,500 for a race tuner and Rinehart (BUB) pipes and another g or so for some chrome do-dads. Now I'll give you that the Ultra has a fine audio system compared to the antiquated Venture's and the cruise seems more operator friendly, BUT it ain't worth 8 g's to me. The only issue I've had is the clutch gear thingy that whined like a broke down HD rider, That was replace by warranty. And the dealer I bought the thing from plugged the antana's in wrong and was buggin' out the radio, fixed by my local dealer. Just IMHO
  22. I see these on ebay buy it now for 41.95 = 7.99 shipping, good price? How about the kit, what should it run for? Thanks Just for the record, got cut off by a cage on the zoomer, laid on the stock horn and it didn't even turn his head. Then got up next to the moron and gave him the stare, kept his head straight didn't even look.
  23. I'm subscribed.
  24. Bought this for 14k + tax brand new have about 16.5k in it now (tax inc) with all the goodies. trunk rack, bag rails, radiator guard, Diamond R back rest (must have in IMHO) Hy way pegs, passing lights and the HD rear light / tag bar. Just added Bub Slip On Sleepers and maaannnn what a powerful sound, ordered a Clearview XXL shield for the lil' lady. Power? I blow my relatives away on their aftermarket equipped HD,s. Just have to get used to the higher RPM's of the V4. I dropped my front shock tubes about an inch 'cause I'm of the vertically challenged, won't be an issue for you. Mine came with Dunlap's so I got lucky, tires are good. Road the "Dragon's Back" last August and what a pleasure. Formally rode a 83 GW and 04 Sabre. Hope this helps.
