  4. Take a meas. from the ground to a common ref. point on the bike, and ask other first gen owners to do the same, to see if your bike really sits 3" higher? Craig

  21. If you are persistant I bet they cover it. It should not have broken off if there are no visible signs you hit anything. When my lower left cowl cracked the dealer said they would not cover it, I asked them to show me any other signs of crash damage, they couldnt and they ended up replacing it under warranty.   24. No short pipe to remove, just pull the stock pipes off, you my have to wiggle and twist them alittle. The HD pipes will slide rite on, I put alittle lube on the ends it helped. No need to cut the pipes at all. The clamps you pictured can be found on ebay I think they hide the connection best, but any clamps will work. Craig
