I am a self-employed contractor, I am pretty new at this, only been doin it for about 40yrs. His bid was very low, I would guess for one of two reasons. He is either very young and inexperienced or he really, really needed the work. He made the fatal mistake of not including a "rock" clause in his agreement. By your description he did more then you asked, which makes me believe he is very consciencous about his work. He also didnt argue or give you a hard time about the money, you say he hinted? So your response will say more about "you". You can teach him a lesson and make him eat the extra work, something I was taught on more then one job. Or you can ask him what he feels a fair amount would be for the extra work, and negotiate from there. If the total was only $2800 and it took him an extra 20% in time you are not talking a whole lot of money. If it were a young guy doing work for me, and he did a great job, I would work with him. This will not be a problem for me, when I ride alone I just set the music and never need to touch it other then the volume. When my wife is on the back she will have the phone and control the tunes. Craig

I would ask her what she wants to do, let her make the decision. Does she want to give up vacations this year to own her own bike? Or do you guys want to wait another year to save some more $$$ towards a bike next year? Are both your jobs pretty solid, are you in pretty good shape financially otherwise? Take a loan and find a good deal, even if you have to sell it you wont lose much? Good Luck with your problem, we look forward to seeing you guys this summer!! Craig

Well my name is cdoo= Sea Doo, I owned them for years, its the most fun you can have with your clothes on! Dont run them in weeds or shallow water, you are probably going to be running in fresh water which is good, still I would flush and fog them after every use. We ran mostly salt water and if you flush and fog they are very low maint. The 3 seaters are great, very stable and hook up and plane very easily, but its hard to jump with them.
