If you are having tailbone issues you need to talk to Rick Butler, he can fix that for you using your own seat. Probably alot quicker and cheaper than buying another seat. PM Rick:080402gudl_prv: Craig

Thanks for the info, I was having a heck of a time with the site yesterday, now I know why. I would be happy to help with the costs, but I could be just as happy with alot less features, all the extras on the site are nice, but are they really necessary. Craig

Another RK muffler question
cecdoo replied to Dieseldawg's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
I just did the swap last week, I didnt use any silicone, and I dont have any leaks, The clamps I used came off my fishtails they are pretty wide but dont quite cover the whole joint. They do cover the slits though. I did get some stainless HD clamps on ebay and they are narrower. Mite be your problem:confused24: Craig -
Funny you are commenting on the difference between 1st and 2nd gen, Took my wife for her first long ride on the 06 RSV today, first thing she noticed was all the noise, both wind and whine, she didnt care for it at all. Guess will be looking into the xxl clearveiw. Then she was surprised at all the shifting I needed to do to maintain speed in the hills, with all the noise she wasnt able to hear the radio. She did think the seat was very comfortable, but didnt like that she couldnt put her arms up on the backrest, like she could on 1st gen. I was surprised to find my rite hand falling asleep, sure missed not being able to adjust fairing vents? I liked the feet forward position and the looks, but I think the 87 was a better bike. Craig

We have had a few boats over the years, from a small tri-hull to a 28ft deck boat, but we had the most fun on a couple sea-doos easy to maintain, easy to store, just like riding a motorcycle, well almost:whistling: good on gas too. Craig

Yep, had the samson fishtails on, I really liked the way they looked, cool kinda retro, but a little too loud for me, I just put a set of slash cut harley pipes on, look pretty good, sound much better. Craig

Just sold my 87, guy that bought it hadnt been riding very long, and never rode a bike this heavy, I told him I would be glad to take him for a ride, but he wasnt gonna ride it till he paid for it. I had an inexperienced rider drop another of my bikes on a test ride, learned my lesson the hard way. Craig

I cant recommend a dealer in your area, but I can tell you how I handled it and avoided the BS. I bought my bike private and had no experience with the dealer I took it to for the basket swap. When I went to them to explain the problem they had never heard of it?? The took my vin # and ran a check on their computer, said there were no issues with my bike? I asked them to call Yamaha and look into this for me and they did. Called me back next day and said I basket was on order, I should bring my bike in? I asked if they would call me when basket came in, and then I would bring the bike, they agreed no problem. They also said that Yamaha wanted it to be clear to me, that the basket just moves the chirp to a different rpm range to make it more tolerable at cruising speeds, it doesnt eliminate the chirp. I think the swap made a big improvement, but its still there, and its still annoying, I would really like to take someones bike out that does not have the chirp just to compare, Craig

Think I feel what you mean, front end just feels lite at highway speeds with the narrower tire, seems to get blown around pretty easy, I too thought it had to do with fairing. On my next front tire I am going to try stock size and lower the front end in the forks. Like you said the lite front end isnt a problem, you just need to adjust for it. Craig

My bike is stock, no links. I installed the narrower avon front tire, it doesnt look bad at all on the bike, it will definetly make the bike feel liter at slow speeds, if thats what you want, if you have no problems handling your bike at slow speeds, stick with stock size. Just my 2cents. The avons do handle nice though, really solid in a turn. Craig
