  1. This will be my first time at this event, I'm traveling up with a few guys from the GWRRA (sorry) who have been before and they say its a great time. We are camping at Lake George Escape from the 2nd to the 7th of June. I have booked for the Rodeo and the Twin Gaps ride, so hopefully the weather will cooperate and I'll be on the look out for some more Venture riders. Ian
  2. Wow and I thought that I was the only one that dropped one of these beast's. First one was making a u-turn and not going quick enough, I was so mad that I just grabbed it by the handle bars and rear grab bar and yanked it up, it bent the engine guard and pushed up the foot rest, soon fixed that with a big boot. The second time was at the gas station trying to get around a truck in front of me, she started to go and that was it, now that was embarassing! Ian
  3. I think Carl said it all. I never had the privilege to meet Leslie and judging by all the comments I've read over the last few months she was a terrific woman and loved by everyone that met her. I'm glad that you are starting to get some semblance of your life back together again. God Bless Ian
  4. This may sound silly but what's V-Max swap out??
  5. That's one nice looking machine, bet you can't wait for this lousey weather to finally disappear. Good luck and good riding. Ian
  6. I don't know about anyone else, but I'm getting sick and tired of our government's (Canada) bending to the wishes of every emigrant that comes to this country and expects to live the same as they did in their home countries. I am an emigrant and didn't expect to be treated any different than anyone else and conform to the laws of this province. If this goes through then everyone should have the same right as it would be reverse discrimination. Personally I wouldn't ride without a helmet but it should be my choice

    Itchin' to ride

Awesome video, but that's just plain teasing, we're freezing our butts off up here and to see that is cruel.
  8. Hi Robert, my wife bought this for my birthday from Best Buy, it is one very interesting series, you won't be disappointed. Ian
  9. This would be the ideal gift for your rider friends. It is the 22,000 mile trip around the world through some of the difficult terrain you have ever seen, through Russia, Kazakhstan, Mongolia and Siberia. Once you start watching this you can't stop.
  10. Congrats on your 1st, they are an absolute joy. I have 3 grandsons 2 1/2, 21 mths & 4mths and they never cease to amaze, like was already said, you can wind them up and send them home (pay backs are a b...ch). Enjoy her they grow up fast.
  11. I have to admit that I have Harley boots to, they are very comfortable and look good (I think). Besides the price was right.
  12. As you said JB, food's do bring back memories, I remember as a school boy back in England, my grandmothers broth with dumplings and fresh bread she baked in the fire stoked oven, ooooh yeh. Hope you enjoyed the pie Gary, it was nice to meet you the other day. Take care Ian
  13. Glad you're OK and back on the proper two wheels, try to keep the rubber on the road. Ian
  14. Same for me Boomer, I check in here a couple of times a night to see whats being said, what I like is the friendly ribbing that goes on between members who I presume have met each other at some point. As yet I have only met Rambling man but hope to get to Don's maintainance day next year and definitely the 08 rally in Kitchener. From the many comments that I've read over the last few mths it is a site that seems to care about its members. Keep it up guys ...& gals... Ian
  15. This seems a good idea Charles, if this could fly, contact could be made with the GWRRA which has 19 chapters from Windsor to Ottawa and each chapter has a safety coordinator, I'm sure they would like to be involved in some capacity, as they also love to ride. Just a thought. Ian
  16. Its to bad that some people can't see past the end of their noses, how soon they forget about the bombing's in London last year and that those soldiers were doing their duty to protect the population from more of the same (only on a greater scale) by fanatics that want the destruction of the west. All military personel serving overseas deserve our thanks and appreciation for their sacrifices. God bless and keep them all.
  17. I rode to the funeral home tonight to pay my respects to the family and spoke to Gary's son's, they said he was awake and talking which is a good sign, but they didn't know how long it would be till he could come home. I saw Ramblingman and he mentioned that parking is behind the Chevy dealership by the high school ( I think I got that right). So far I intend to ride the bike, hope to meet you on Saturday. Ian
  18. Congratulations hope you stick with it. I quit when I was about 11, my mother caught me and beat the s***t out of me, that seemed to work very well, never did it again.
  19. I would be interested in meeting up with you, let me know. Ian
  20. I don't think I'd like to try that on my bike LOL to much to clean afterward.
  21. Gary, You have my deepest sympathy for your tragic loss, I just realized that you also worked at the tranny plant in Windsor as do I, though we did not work together I do remember you. You were one of the first to welcome me when I joined this forum and I appreciated that, unfortunately we didn't get to ride together but was looking forward to maybe doing so in the future. May god bless you and the rest of your family. Ian.
