  1. Great new's Gary, all the best to Matt and his bride to be, you all deserve to have good news for a change. And jumping the gun, grandkids are awesome I have 3 and another due in January, the best part is you get to wind them up, then send them home, Pay back's bro pay back's!!!!! May you have many little feet running around. Ian
  2. Amen to that. I guess I'll keep mine for a bit longer, unless someone gives me an offer I can't refuse!!!!!
  3. Teletubbies!!!!!!!Hey Brad you weren't one of the Mousekteer's were you???? :rotfl: Seriously though, well said. Ian
  4. I can relate to what Seaking says, its happened many times, just when you think you've got it down pat it bites you in the a$$, makes you feel such a twit, and as was mentioned earlier, you will drop it...we all have...!! At least those that own up to it. Ian
  5. Check this thread, it can be a bit fiddlely trying get it back in the yoke but I managed ok. Ian http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=25506&highlight=drive+shaft
  6. Good article Lou, since I started riding again I don't have that sense of invulnerability that I had when I was much, much!!! younger. Maybe wisdom does come with age, since I'm retired where do I have to go in a hurry? I take my time and am always on the lookout for crazy cager's, just yesterday I was stopped at a traffic light, our light turned green, I waited an extra few seconds and looked to the left, sure as s**t a Dodge Ram truck came straight through, cars were screeching to a stop. If I had gone through I think I may have come out on the wrong end of the collision. So please everyone ride safe, there are alot of nut bars out there. Ian
  7. I'd have to agree with "KiteSquid", many of the post's on this site talk about installing leveling links to "raise" the rear end to allow for better low speed handling which is when you really need it because of the weight, also almost everyone that has the links installed say the bike handles better! On cornering I would tend to think that if its lowered instead of peg scraping you'd have them digging in which wouldn't be cool and could be quite painfull. Maybe I'm wrong, I'm sure I'll be corrected if I am. Ian
  8. I've also use the Amsoil 10w40 in the engine and Amsoil gear oil 80/w90 in the rear end, so far so good. They say you can go longer between oil changes, but I change mine at about 8,000 Km, just to be on the safe side. Ian
  9. Gary, I am so,very, very sorry to hear this news, my sincerest condolences go to out to you and your family, you are all in our prayers. If there's anything you need don't hesitate to call. Ian
  10. I like what Dan said. Maybe we can all agree that a little ice cream would do us all good. I want Chocalate, how about you? I'd rather have more of Lonna's cheesecake than ice cream ( less fattening). Ian

    Detroit Maint Day 2

  12. Received an email back today from Jack Dodson the President of BACA, after I inquired if anything was being set up in Canada, he said there is an effort to set a chapter up over here...though he didn't specify where...and he hopes that it will spread quickly once the first one gets going. This is something that I'd certainly like to get involved in, as no child should suffer abuse be it sexual, physical or mental. I don't think that many of us on this site are hard core biker's, more like....if you saw the movie.... the "Wild Hogs" are'nt we?? But I believe some good could be done if it was accepted over here as it seems to have been in the states. Thats my feeling anyway. Ian
  13. Hi Cindy, I went to the site and was pretty impressed by the video and what I read, its unfortunate that we don't have anything like this in Ontario...that I know of....I will contact the founder to see if anything is in the works for Canada, because we have our share of subhuman creeps. I see Australia has quite a few chapters so I don't know why not here! Glad to hear you guys are managing to get some help. God Bless. Ian
