5. Phil, both you and Bill can check this site, as you are both right. Ian http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MG_MGB#MGB_GT_V8
6. I emailed the Hub the other day about putting me on a waiting list and got a reply back this afternoon that they had a double room available and they used the reply as a confirmation. So I guess I'm going to be there, providing this medical problem I have doesn't prevent me, I'll know more once the tests are in and surgery booked. But until then, I'm in!! Will take care of the registration soon. Ian
7. She looks really good Mike, and yes you can see the flake on the tank, hope to get a better look at MD if you make it. :happy34: Ian
8. Been there, done that. Now its a regular check up item and as was already said, any bolt you can get a wrench on, check it. Ian
9. Try this thread. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=29821&highlight=screen+width Ian
10. Looking good George, can't wait to see the finished product. Ian
11. Carl, I think that it should go in once its connected to the drive tube. I Believe that I read on here before that someone did it that way, but I can't think who. Has anyone else done it this way? Ian
12. One question, When putting the drive shaft back in, can you attach it into the yoke first, then slide the pumkin onto the other end of the shaft and tighten the 4 nuts. I did it this way and have had no problem. Ian
13. My RSMV was bought from a Honda dealer in Aug of 07, it had done 41,000 Km now it has almost 60,000 Km on her and hopefully I'll put many more on her this year. Ian
14. This guy is just a typical small minded reporter who can probably never get his facts straight and only goes for the sensational stuff. Sure there are bad elements that ride bikes, there are also bad elements in all walks of life. How many report on the good things bikers do: Ride for Dad...prostate cancer Ride for Cystic Fibrosis. Ride for Toys for kids 911 Ride Ride to the North Wall And numerous other events supported by bikers. Just my thoughts Ian
15. Our first trip this year was last week to Puerto Vallarta, 7 very hot days laying by the pool, walking the beach and drinking way to much beer. Going to MD in June. July 12th a group of us are heading out to the East coast...Halifax, Lunenburg....for the Tall Ships, we also are going to do The Cabot Trail, which I can't wait for. Will have to be back before the 29th for my grandson's birthday. Hope to head down to Akansas on the 2nd or 3rd of Aug for the Rally and would like to do the Dragon on the way back. If I can't get there for that I'll probably do The 911 Ride on the 20th to 22nd of Aug. Ian
16. I was wondering the same thing, as you see I live in Windsor and would be crossing into Detroit, I don't know how many would be coming down this far. Are the Guys from Brantford, Kitchener, Guelph, London going over the bridge at Sarnia?? If so then its possible we could meet up on I75 somewhere. There is lots of time yet and I was going to bring it up nearer to the date...which I probably still will...but it would be good to get some kind of idea. Ian
17. March 4th 1972...I think...will have to wait for the anniversary cards to come to be sure. Ian

Lizard

That was hilarious, the news guy probably had to change his shorts. Ian
19. I also run the bike once a week just to keep the oil....Amsoil.... where its suppose to get to and I keep the revs at about 2000 to 2500 for about 20 mins. I leave the battery tender on when not running it and did the same last yr with no problems.
20. Wow Reiny sorry to hear that, how did they get into your Paypal acct? I agree with Gunboat start by knee capping, then use the tar and feathers. Ian
21. Something tells me that it may not be street legal, but just watch those cagers move out of the way pretty quick. God help anyone that cuts you off.
22. This was my Triumph 21, my first real "cruiser" and the first one I got over 100 mph on back in England. This was the Suzuki Marauder 800, it was a very easy bike to ride and looked good. The RSMV has to be the best bike I've ever had, very comfortable to ride despite the weight of the thing. The one bike I that I really wanted was back in the 60's, it was the Norton 650 man did I ever want one of those, that was THEE bike to have. Ian
23. Sounds like an awesome ride, we also have one...Run to the North Wall....in Windsor to comemorate the Canadians that died in Nam, the monument is on the river front between Windsor and Detroit. Though we don't get the numbers you do, we had about 125 bikes last year and representation from all the services, I found the ceremony very sollemn and emotional, we also had a very good turn out from Windsorites and riders from Michigan and Ohio. Ian
24. Good thing you weren't in Ontario Rick, just 10 more klicks and your bike would have been impounded for 7 days and you would have been charged with street racing, which carries a hefty fine. Ian
25. These pics are pretty good, I had to put them in a zip file as they were to large, but I think you may enjoy them. Ian
