  1. If I can get it working for just a few dollars I probably will. If not it will be replaced. Dang, and here I am in MS.. working... If only I was off (like I was) and in Huntsville, you would have a visitor to take it off your hands if you decided to replace it....

    Footpegs

this is my opinion now, but a large foot peg only has one row of rubber where as a dually has two rows (upper & lower) rows of rubber...

  4. Age is taking a grasp huh........... My best friend has one that looks just like it.. Nice bike!!
  5. Dennis, Im sure you may have thought of this but I don't think it would be that hard of a job to remove that non working hydo-pump and take it to a local hydraulic repair place Maybe they could fix it / bleed it for you and you may be back in lift business for around 50 to 100 bucks v/s a new lift. There are (4) hydraulic pump repair places just north of Lexington, all look like they are in the vicinity of each other on Georgetown rd (Hwy 25) out of Lexington. Power Train appears to be a good place to try. 900 Nandino Boulevard Lexington, KY 40511 Get directions ‎ (800) 999-6529 or: Applied Industrial Tech Inc 1111 Majaun Road Lexington, KY 40511 Get directions ‎ (859) 252-8426
  6. Heck, that looks like Beer30's hair...................
  7. Joe, By what you are explaining I do feel it is the ignition switch. However, remove your gas tank and check out this connector on your bike. It goes to your ignition switch.. see if your connector is burnt like mine was (See photos of connector in link). http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=32359
  8. disconnect the relays you installed and see what happens..
  9. Nothing like cleaning up broken glass in the snow...(or ice).... Been there, done that too!! Wish I had one of those old metal milk racks they carried the bottles in..
  10. (quote) - The Ins adjuster brought his own contractor This answered my theroy as soon as I read it. So I have to ask you.....if you ever asked yourself this question: Why in the world would an insurance adjuster bring his own contractor to my house without coming by first by himself to assess the damages, and then explain to you that there are some concerns he has and he is not that well experienced in, and would like to contact a contractor (or have you contact one of your own) and set up a meeting at your house with all parties to go over those items that may be out of the adjusters scope / knowledge... I would call 2 to 3 contractors and request estimates. You insurance company doesnt even need to know you are doing this. Then contact an attourney and give him COPIES of your 2 /3 estimates and ask him to contact your insurance company..Ask him to also contact the drivers insurance company for the credible evidence they have in regards to the drivers health and root cause of the accident. Was a drug test taken? Blood work taken at the hospital (if the driver even went there). The blood test results could prove DUI or drugs.......and then again the driver could be diabetic... If his insurance wont cover the costs due to him being diabetic, then why in the world did they give him vehicle insurance in the first place....(oh, just to take his money....)

  17. MIles, I hope to meet up with you some day. This brings back many memories of past years on the site here.. Makes my heart flushed to see there are still people out there giving those items away that would normallly sit on a shelf and collect dust.
  18. Forget the tank badges.. Purchase the following quantity of chrome letters: Qty - Letters: 6 - A's 2- R's 4 -D's 2 - S's 2 - N's 2 - V's 2 - Ys 2 - Es 2 - H's 2 - I's 2 - L's 2 - O's Now you have enough letters for BOTH sides of your gas tank. Place them in order to spell the folLowing: HARDELYA DAVIDSON
  19. Eddie, Let me know if you really want to do that, and I will send you my Oberlin, Ohio address.........
  20. I suggest we all gather up our old helmets, and then have a weekend meet & eat in a convienent neighborhood, and we make table or hanging lamps out of them, then sell them for Saint Judes............ Drill a hole in the top, insert a $3.00 lamp socket, wire it up and wham-o...
  21. How about adding some running lights or wire them up to be brake lights / turn signals what ever type you want, to your mud flaps.. see samples attached: Yes, the samples provided are shown on a vehicle mud flap but you can get the idea..
  22. Last year, I took one for a ride in Charleston, Sc.. My wife and I got on it, and pulled out of the dealers parking lot and down the on ramp we went onto the interstate.. As I got up to 65 MPH, I realized I was fighting to keep the thing going straight..I could not take my hands of the grips for it would wobble back and forth sideways..I slowed down to 45 mph and rode it to the very first exit..got off the interstate and took a back road that ran parrellel to the interstate and couldnt get back to the dealer fast enough. My wife held on to me the whole ride and she wanted off that thing as bad as I did. I told the sales person how it wobbled and he said that is thier nature...I said you can keep it, Im very happy with my wing. I will never ride another one.
