  1. It was really nice to see you and Joyce again. My wife (Konnie) really likes her. Glad you two made it home safe!! Hope to see you down the road again soon. Eck
  2. Looks good. Hey, I'm working on that bolt I told you about for when you have to change that Alternator... Should be able to send it to you late next week. I have to fly out tomorrow to Zeeland, Michigan.........
  3. Eck

    Heading home

Glad you guys made it home safe.. we did too. Nice seeing you guys and hope our roads cross again.
  4. Hail - winds and tornados are possible according to local news here in Columbus, Ms., but at a low level.. Rain will be afternoon and into the evening Friday here and north of us. The map is all GREEN north of Jackson, Tn., and heading towards Nashville tomorrow so I wouldn't clean that wing either. You might should ask the motel manager if you can park it under the awning. Note to B2Mom: I didn't say a word about having it rain on your parade....really .. honest,, I mean.. seriously, truly, come on now, you just gotta believe me...
  5. I would not wish rain on your parade ever...I too wish we could be there..Looks like you guys are going to have one heck of a turn out though.
  6. Playboy, This was my first thought too, when I read the title to this thread.. I figured he washed his cell phone. You all better be nice.. I can ask my friends to drop a little liquid sunshine on your rides...
  7. Miles, You now have 1,372 miles under your butt.... and you have about 1,042 miles to go to get to Martin, Tn. I surely hope you do not try to ride the 1,042 miles in one day.. Party doesn't start on Thursday so take another day and be safe.. Your doing great on making miles...... be MILES..............
  8. SO what are ya saying there Ruffy... you looking to buy a white one:stickpoke:..
  9. WOW, looks like you hit the lotto my friend..... Dang, we didn't have that nice of stuff in the beginning...but it didn't matter. We had a BLAST and made many friends and memories filled with laughter and good times. Camp fires around the cabin and just sitting telling stories with our favorite cold one in the hand, all on edge, full of anticipation and jitters as we waited upon the next rising sun for that early main gathering in the parking lot and heading to town for the morning breakfast wake up prior to the rides of the day. Choosing which ride you would go on. Leaving with a full belly and off down the road only to get a mile down the road and hearing someone calling out on the CB that they have to STOP for GAS,..then going another 20 miles and having to stop again so that those who didn't at the gas stop, let those cups of coffee out. Then it begins, the ride we all waited for and longed for, as we all whipped our face shields from the slop of the rain.. Oh yea..........let the good times roll.........
  10. Nice looking ride.. Does it come inn RED?...
  11. Glad you made it to Tupelo safely Paul. It was a pleasure meeting you too. I hope your testing goes great today and that you have a very safe (uneventful mechanics wise) trip back home.. Look forward to a day when we can have a MS Meet & Eat and be able to get all the MS members we can to show up. And a little note to Walter here: I've straightened up..........
  12. We are at Hucks Hope you make it You didn't beat your gps time. Ha
  13. Hey Paul, I just looked (12:36pm) and if you can time it to where you will be at the intersection of HWY 45 and Hwy82 around 3:30/3:45pm, I will meet you at that intersection and you can follow me to Huck's Place in Columbus. I will be riding my wing. If you don't get this message or if you are not at that intersection by 3:45 latest, I will just ride on to Huck's place and meet you there as we already discussed. Eck
  14. Be careful and ride safe and I hope you enjoy your trip. I will see you later tonight..
  15. Looks like we just might need a Victory tech side now... Keep me posted on how it handles and rides...good and bad.. wishes you feel you should have thought of and things you didn't expect. I too have been looking at the victory-wings, mostly because I want my feet more securely on the ground when I stop at a red light or stop sign. I love my wing and it would take a lot for me to give her up...
  16. Nice choice...and nice color. It matches my bushtec.. Between Muffinman and I, together we should be able to help you with most any questions on how to... feel free to ask anytime. I have several tech articles, a shop manual and a bunch of CD's full of information. Eck
  17. Seen it before too and enjoyed it as much again .... very nice..thanks
  18. James, Your post is an invite to all. Many thanks from this end. What your efforts are doing (except for end result) was very similar to the FREE APRTS section we had a few years back. I posted not long ago about the same thing. If you have a part sitting in the garage or barn on a shelf and not being used, how about donating it to the free parts list. Anyone wanting it would contact the owner and the owner would ship it to the needing person. Sometimes the owner would pay the shipping and other times not. It went very well for about three years. Many received and exchanged free parts and brought total strangers together. At different meet & eats those people would be able to put a face with a name and also be able to see the part they gave to that person on their bike. The slight difference is your sought after end result of which I think is great. Freebird would love to have his house cleaned after MD...but if I were he, I would rather have my bike cleaned up and waxed so it is ready to go ...ha Good on you, for your efforts in bringing strangers who have the same interest together.
  19. Put a piece of that fiber tape on it and you will be fine... I would at minimum dab some antibiotic cream on it though... Super glue works well too..
  20. (qoute - Condor) Eck's suggestion will work on a 2ndGen, but it's an '85. The idle adjustment knob is on the left side behind the carb brace. DUH... I didnt even look to see what bike he had. I automatically thought if you own a Yamaha, it is a 2nd gen.. Thanks to Squidley too.... You are correct again sir. I just assumed he already had sync'd them. Whoda thought..........
  21. Still needs some more work Eck. Im trying to decide whether to just put the fins back on or polish them first. Food for thought here my friend.. Anything you polish will require same effort every year...........
  22. DoubleD Dont worry on both accounts. (1) Your anual fee is covered. Freebird, I will pay this for him from now on until further notice. Please notify me when they are due. (2) Prayers and more prayers are sent your way my friend. (I moved this thread to the prayer request section)
  23. You can easily adjust idle rpm with your fingers. On right side of gas tank, near aft end , on the underneath side of the gas tank, there is a black plastic round knob...when bike is warmed up, slowly turn this knob to the right or left to adjust the idle RPM to where you want it. I have done this at a red light. Very simple and easy to do. Make sure your choke is pushed in all the way first...
  24. (quote): Mike, you da man.....I had a bunch of torx sockets. I found a larger one, hammered it into the allen hole and with a gentle twist with a 1/4" ratchet it broke loose!! WOW, I was getting prepared to say bye to my dream bike .... Sure am glad it came out Ruffy. Would have hated to see pieces of Yamaha and HD bike parts landing here in Ms...
