  1. Tell 1-up to remove his gas tank and check out this connector. Sitting on bike, it is on the left side of frame that runs through center of bike. My 2nd gen acted same way... http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=32359
  2. Knowing you Lewis I can see you writing the check now for St. Jude's .... Yea man............. That is what you need to do...just return his email and tell him to send a check to St. Jude's in honor of you, but ask him if he would mention VR.org while he is at it...
  3. So sorry to hear this. My deepest condolences to you and your family Dan.
  4. Well something is wrong already. I posted my above joking comment and when I was done the post was showing as read. I went into another posting, read that one and when I went to look for another post this post shows up as being unread? Same thing happened after I posted in the ride for Gunboat that Squidley posted. It showed as read, but now shows as unread? Just thought I would mention this and I will watch as I comment on a few more to see if they do the same.
  5. Whether I can make a state VR ride for Gunboat or not, I will be riding that day come rain or shine.
  6. If time permits, I just might get around to reading this posting...............
  7. Just a word of caution here because I care.... Don't ever become where you feel you are in total control and without fear when riding... Its at those times when your "Thought I knew how to's" come to light, you loose that personal control you once thought you had and find out that your bike bites like it never has before... It's like changing ownership...Once your bike bites you then you will understand that the bike owns you ..... you don't own it..and that the bike will treat you the same way you treat it... Riding respectfully or disrespectfully is your choice... Ok that is my speech for safety this week.. Now does anyone know how to remove the scuff marks from both my foot pegs:confused24:
  8. yep, mine sure is.
  9. Lewis needs us all here folks. Not only is he having problems with his legs, hips, and his back, it is now effecting his brain... Hang in there Brother, Help is on the way..
  10. I agree... that IS funny..........
  11. Not sure what type of MP3 player you are using, but if it uses a thumb drive, may be the thumb drive is loose where it plugs in and is loosing connection there which would mean nothing is wrong with your wire harness/ cords going to and from the unit.
  12. As I was saying, I have heard of many bikes loosing parts now and then. They all do. ..it happens http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=79476
  13. This just floored me too. Meet him several times and he was always a gentle man with a helping hand. My condolences go out to his whole family.
  14. Frogmaster, I received your email You have my reply.
  15. If you know anyone else looking that lives in Holland Mi, send me an email. I know a supplier we have up there that is looking for about 14-16 employees right now. All I ask is only send me someone you would recommend.. Eck

  17. I always placed a 6 inch long 2x4 block of wood under the side stand to get the bike to "as near as" it would be if going down the road (minus my fat butt on the seat) The I would check the oil level Never ever had an issue doing it this way. As you said, some say it's OK to check it on center stand.. some say do this and do that.. I just try to resemble what the level of the bike would be as if it was "moving down the road" when checking the oil. cant go wrong that way.
  18. Love seeing the possibility of having new family members. About a week ago in Columbus, Ms., I saw a black Venture in a church parking lot and they were in the process of setting up for a yard sale. I stopped in and began asking who owned the Venture. I met the man and after speaking with him a little while I mentioned this site and asked him to give us a visit. I wrote the web site down and my name, shook his hand and drove off. Hope to see him here also
  19. Knowing this thread was posted only as a joke, (one I do find funny myself) I have to say this in all fairness. I have seen every type of bike loose a part here and there. We all have seen it, heard it and most of us lived it.. My venture (and most all ventures) are known to loose bolts from the rear fender and the shifter screw falls out. Chrome piece on rear of front fender screws also came out and lost them ont he road.. All this has happened on my Venture. However, Yamaha makes a great Venture and if they change their ways I might even go back to one. I have had parts fall off all my bikes. My Honda 350, 450 750 and Kaw 900z1.. but not YET has anything fallen off my GW. Not saying it wont. I think the joke is still funny....it made me grin again...in fact, I have said those same words myself. I do feel Harley builds a great bike and they are much better now than what they were back in the 50s. I've even been pondering with the idea if I want one..
  20. If I came by to kick you while your down, I'd have to kick you in the rump to straighten you up so you could walk and ride again.. Man I wish you were better guy. Your a real pain in the HEART for me.. Here is to wishing you well my friend!!
  21. SO glad you are out and about again Ruffy. Be careful and ride safe my friend. Eck
  22. I found with 1800cc's, I eliminated the problem of having to twist the throttle. Fuel mileage is a little different (average about 39 mpg without trailer to around 30 with depending on how much junk I place in the trailer.
  23. It's probably a shower cap to prepare him for his next cooler shower at MD..........
