George, You will never live this down bud... sort of like my cell phone incidents..."it" happens:whistling:

Pick, Any auto store sells trim auto trim glue. It will hold those rubber strips on the tank. If you choose this method, I would place a dab of glue about every 1 1/2 to 2 inches "max" distance from each other the length of the rubber strip. You do not need a bead of adhesive the entire length of the strip. Also, if you want a chrome edge on the tank, as mentioned above, any auto stores sells the chrome door edging. This is what I used on my 05. You cut it to length and press it on for it has its own adhesive. You can heat the plastic chrome strip just a smidgen on the "adhesive side" with a hair dryer to activate the adhesive, but do not heat it to much or you will melt the chrome plastic. Good luck my friend! Eck

1st gen manuals and guides / info is located here Todd. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=90 -
............. I (like many here) don't need a trailer or some accessory that I can not use. The weekend getaway sounds great, but even at that expense I would rather see the money go back into the forum to help those family members in need when ever that unexpected sickness or death comes to their door. I as well as Marcarl and many others here, like to meet those whom I have met in the past and know as friends, but I also to like to meet all the new members that I don't know I like to ride and see bits of the country that I have not seen in a while, but I always hope the ride contains "virgin territory" for it brings a different level of excitement. If you want stories, grab a cold one and a chair, for we all have a few.

Here's a start on their 3rd gen.....

I think of Mark often. A point to ponder: Just think what it would be like if everyone was like him...

Pick, If you can not get your bike going in time, for your departure date/time, let me know and I will ride my GW to your place and you can use it to do your ride if you want. I will need to borrow a vehicle to get back to Huntsville in. You can stop in Huntsville on your return trip home and drop the bike off and pick up your vehicle.. Hey bud, its all I can think of at this time.. OR.. You can drive your cage to my place and pick up my GW for your trip and leave your cage here and take your keys with you for I don't need your cage. When your done with your trip, just come back to my place and drop off my GW and pick up your cage to go back home in. Either way you have an offer to use my Goldwing so you do not miss your trip.. If you need help soldering... give me a ring.. I can take a ride over to help you. I have three soldering irons and lots of flux and solder.. Eck -

Some readable info, just in case. http://www.webmd.com/epilepsy/tc/helping-a-person-during-an-epileptic-seizure-topic-overview
-
Joe, As mentioned, it was /is very smart of you to ASK....and to be so cautious. I am left with this question though..Do you know what to do if she does have seizure? I would suggest that if/when you do speak to her about her seizures and riding, I would include in that conversation what you should do if she does have one, and retain her family's phone number if you need to make a call.

Name of Restaurant Mikes Dinner Street Address Main Street City War State or Province WV Website (Optional) https://www.facebook.com/pages/Mikes-Dinner/365563943575089?rf=199744040040895 Quality of Food Fantastic Quality of Service Fantastic Biker Friendly? (Parking, Trusted Location, Etc.) Yes Kind of Food? (Mexican, Chinese, etc.) Southern Home Style Alcohol Served? No Additional Comments While out on a 7 day motorcycle ride, my best friend and I stopped here at Mikes Dinner for breakfast. When we walked in to the place, I almost said, lets go somewhere else. However, the girl behind the counter said have a seat anywhere you want. By that time I was standing at the counter facing her. I asked her if she had a menu, and she handed me a piece of note book paper with the menu written on it. My friend (Paul) and I laughed. I said I have to go get my camera off my bike. I want a picture of this. When I came back in with my camera Paul was sitting in a booth ordering coffee for the both of us. I knew we were staying. I took several photos of the menu and other interior wall decorations then sat down with Paul. The owner came up and asked if we were hungry and if we decided what we wanted. She recommended her home made biscuits and gravy which Paul ordered. I requested eggs and sausage and toast. In a matter of 8 to 10 minutes, here came our breakfast and I'm telling you it was the best darn breakfast I have ever had from a restaurant in all my years of traveling the US. She even brought me a bowl of her gravy and asked me to at least try it. I couldn't stop dipping everything I had on my plate in her gravy, and I am not a biscuit and gravy guy. All in all I have to say if you are ever on HWY 16 going south from Welch, WV and you are coming into WAR, WV. as soon as you go over the Railroad tracks look to your right while you are still on the tracks and you will see Mikes Dinner. If you do stop there, tell her ECK sent you and that Eck is the one who said he is a moderator on a motorcycle site and said he would post on the internet about their restaurant and the exciting experience he had here. Oh and ask her if you could also have a slice of her home grown (cold) tomatoes. Awesome breakfast place. Yes, it looks like a dive when you first see the place and walk in, but give it a chance and you won’t be disappointed

Again, I am in total agreement with Micarl.. You are not liable if someone stold it from him..!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
As Micarl mentioned.. I would definitely investigate to see if there are any cameras around... Possible wind gust, but the cameras would remove all doubt on how it happened.

front fork seal replacement
Eck replied to Max's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
Glad everything went well for you during your loss of virginity on fork seals. Don't feel all alone. Today I just finished installing my new fork seals, sliders, guides, fresh 15W oil and dust boots on my Goldwing 1800. I too lost my virginity on fork seals...... -
crazy............but exciting...
-
Here's to wishing you well and a speedy recovery. I have been in the market for the same thing for over two years now, but haven't had it done yet.
-
Congrats on both occasions my friend. Hope you and your lovely have a great anniversary and have many more of them and see many more of those birthdays. Only sad thing is, the more grandson birthdays you see, the more of your own birthdays you will see too....
-
Glad you were able to work things out and get you and your bike back home Walt.
-
Walt, Sorry , but it is now Sunday morning, and I just read your post. Hope you got help and are on your way home.

Looks like you two had a lot better weather than we had last week on our bike ride.. Sure glad you two are enjoying life and each others companionship. Beautiful pictures!! Give Linda a hug and kick yourself in the pants for me. Eck
