Saddlebag Fasteners
Eck replied to rutman's topic in Royal Star and Royal Star Tour Deluxe Tech Talk
You can make them yourself for a whole lot cheaper... Radio shack has the black plastic knobs.. about $1.59 each Ace Hardware, Lowes, Home Depot has the metric bolts ...about $1.50 each A tube of epoxy (part A & B) and you can glue the bolts into the plastic caps. You might have $15.00 in them when done. -
Appears you have the confidence you need based on your maintenance skills. I will add my 2 cents: The RSV is a very top heavy bike and in slow motion, is hard to hold up / control. Be careful I would definitely do the ignition by-pass mod ASAP...it is a very well know problem. Check to see if the rear shock is leaking. Lay on floor and pull up on rubber boot to visually check for presence of any oil. If so have the dealer replace it before you buy it. Check goose neck bearing adjustment. This is an easy fix that you can do yourself. Remove, clean up, and re-lube drive shaft and rear splines If I can be of any help with maintenance questions feel free to email me here on the site or you can call me at two five 6 - four 29 - eight six 23. I owned an 05 RSV fro about 5 years and I really enjoyed that bike. (see pic attached below)

I really would like to attend this rally, but don't think my wife and I could make it to Sturgis, Black hills, Yellowstone, and ride HWY 12 through Idaho that early in the year without getting into some real nasty weather, and the roads in those areas most likely would still be closed. We are leaving Huntsville at end of June, first week of July heading west is our plan.

At least you didn't leave your spouse at the gas station..........................

Ruffy, I like it. I've been looking to downsize from the 1800 since I ride solo 99% of the time. I did read where this one has an optional truck that is available (If someone would want one). I don't see where riding foot pegs could be mounted with out melted heal marks on the exhaust, but as mentioned in an above posting, I'm sure they are working on it. I have been looking at the 1600 and 1300 BMW's but just not sure what I want anymore. I am happy with my 1800wing but getting old sucks and it is getting harder to hold the thing up. I will be reading more about this one though. Thanks!

I could see removing the fleece and storing it in the side bag or trunk if its raining, but this may cause the rider to be cold during riding in rain and I'm still concerned about water penetration thru any /all zipper areas. The jacket looks like a very nice jacket though.

So sorry Dan to hear this. May peace be with you and your family. "Moms" live in a special place in the hearts of their children. That's why mothers will continue to live even after they pass on."

I think it is a neat idea for a motorcycle jacket, but I only have one concern with it. Their advertisement / write up includes this comment: Not only does it zip out, but it can be reversed to become a stand alone HiViz Mesh Safety Vest that expands large enough to be worn over the jacket when during inclement weather or whenever increased visibility is desired. I see no mention of being water resistant / proof during inclement weather. My concern: If the sleeves "zip" off, I begin to wonder how water proof / resistant the jacket really is, thinking water will seep thru the shoulder zippers. I may be wrong, but this is my only concern / thought. Would be nice if it is water proof / resistant.

Not sure the pharmacist knew what he was saying here. ...

You might have to mod it for a car tire to get that extra traction...............

If you happen to locate access to one, I too would like to have something made...

Good to have you back. The say silence is golden, but don't sit on the side lines to long, those "cheeks" and your back will begin to hurt, so jump in and make a comment or two. My son-in-law just purchased a 2003 Honda Shadow last Tuesday. Very clean bike and has only 8,325 miles on it.

Heck yea...I feeeeeeeeeeelllllll good..!!!!!!!!!! Went for a ride and got some air on the face. Man it felt good back in the saddle. Finally got my bike back together and had to try it out.. Next mod will be the Traxxion rear shock.. http://www.traxxion.com/gl1800rearshock-traxxiondynamics.aspx

This has to do with cooking when the recipe calls out egg whites. This video shows you how to remove the yokes easily and quickly, from the whites. Might be a good idea to ask your spouse to watch this with you so they can enjoy it too. http://www.youtube.com/embed/iAp8pEaWB1Y

I'm looking for the Goldwing emblems that are located on each side covers, (Qty of two), and the Honda emblem that is located on the rear trunk (Qty of 1). If you happen to have any of these emblems just laying around and don't need them, I am down to one half arm and a left leg remaining.
