Hate to see it go but I don't need two of them any more. For an 05, it is still pretty clean...

Last time I was there I stayed at the Quality Inn, and there were two pimps standing outside my door at 12 midnight just yaking away, while their lady of the evening was in the room next to mine, of which I could hear everything.. I got up and opened my door and told the two jerks to shut up....... I will never go back there...

Not so sure why the driver of the vehicle that the motorcyclist hit didn't call the police or any of the other folks on the highway that he was so called "recklessly passing".. I would also think he would be charged with leaving the scene of an accident...

10 little-known facts about motorcycles to commemorate the anniversary of the first known motorcycle race, which was in 1897. When motorcycles were first invented, it didn't take long before people started racing them. The first recorded race was over the distance of one mile. The winner, Charles Jarrot, had a blistering time of 2 minutes and 8 seconds on his Fournier motorcycle. On to the facts: 1)The front tire provides 75 per cent of a bike’s grip when cornering. 2)The Vespa brand of scooter got its name from the Italian word for wasp. 3)As well as motorbikes, Kawasaki also makes spaceships. It only began making motorcycles in 1962 to publicise its ‘heavy industries’ which were unknown to the public. 4)Devil, Satan and Lucifer have all been brands of motorcycles. 5)The first motorcycle was the SH Roper 1869 steam cycle. 6)His character The Fonz may have been the epitome of cool but actor Henry Winkler couldn't actually ride a motorcycle. 7)When Valentino Rossi was five, his dad (a former motorbike racer himself) built him a go-kart as a substitute to biking out of concern for his son’s safety. 8)The TOTO motorcycle built in Japan in 2010 ran on human waste. 9)American Triumph dealer Bud Ekins did the now-famous 65ft motorcycle jump in The Great Escape (in one take), not Steve McQueen. 10)Between 1917 and 1923 macho American bike firm Harley-Davidson made mopeds. Meanwhile, Hell’s Angels founder Sonny Barger said in his autobiography he prefers Japanese bikes to Harleys

Many of you know that I try to find different ways of doing things on my bike than anyone else. I was looking for a cheap beverage holder and for $4.00 you cant beat this one. It even swivels... Where did I purchase it you ask.... Try Babies - R - Us... OH, and I installed some new passenger foot pegs for my better half..(see attached pics)

Saddlebag Fasteners
Eck replied to rutman's topic in Royal Star and Royal Star Tour Deluxe Tech Talk
You can make them yourself for a whole lot cheaper... Radio shack has the black plastic knobs.. about $1.59 each Ace Hardware, Lowes, Home Depot has the metric bolts ...about $1.50 each A tube of epoxy (part A & B) and you can glue the bolts into the plastic caps. You might have $15.00 in them when done. -
Appears you have the confidence you need based on your maintenance skills. I will add my 2 cents: The RSV is a very top heavy bike and in slow motion, is hard to hold up / control. Be careful I would definitely do the ignition by-pass mod ASAP...it is a very well know problem. Check to see if the rear shock is leaking. Lay on floor and pull up on rubber boot to visually check for presence of any oil. If so have the dealer replace it before you buy it. Check goose neck bearing adjustment. This is an easy fix that you can do yourself. Remove, clean up, and re-lube drive shaft and rear splines If I can be of any help with maintenance questions feel free to email me here on the site or you can call me at two five 6 - four 29 - eight six 23. I owned an 05 RSV fro about 5 years and I really enjoyed that bike. (see pic attached below)

I really would like to attend this rally, but don't think my wife and I could make it to Sturgis, Black hills, Yellowstone, and ride HWY 12 through Idaho that early in the year without getting into some real nasty weather, and the roads in those areas most likely would still be closed. We are leaving Huntsville at end of June, first week of July heading west is our plan.

At least you didn't leave your spouse at the gas station..........................

Ruffy, I like it. I've been looking to downsize from the 1800 since I ride solo 99% of the time. I did read where this one has an optional truck that is available (If someone would want one). I don't see where riding foot pegs could be mounted with out melted heal marks on the exhaust, but as mentioned in an above posting, I'm sure they are working on it. I have been looking at the 1600 and 1300 BMW's but just not sure what I want anymore. I am happy with my 1800wing but getting old sucks and it is getting harder to hold the thing up. I will be reading more about this one though. Thanks!

I could see removing the fleece and storing it in the side bag or trunk if its raining, but this may cause the rider to be cold during riding in rain and I'm still concerned about water penetration thru any /all zipper areas. The jacket looks like a very nice jacket though.
