  3. Buddy, You get a free 60 day trial to the VentureRider club....(you mentioned 30 day trial period above). Glad you are here and enjoy it!
  4. Me too...!!!!!!...
  5. There was no set install rate provided by Lowes.. it was up to the contractor to give me the estimate. Lowes called the contractor when I purchased the tank and told him to call me. He was closed at the time they called him.
  6. Been a while since I have been there (2004).. I owned a time share condo at Discovery Beach resort in Coco Beach for about 12 years, and used to ride down through that area. Since I sold the condo, I have not been down in that area since. I'm sure it has changed a bunch.
  7. Yep, leaking out of the flange that is "welded" to the side of the tank that the (top) heating element screws into. It was NOT leaking from the gasket between heating element and the flange, it was leaking out of the actual weld..It rusted through..I could wipe the weld with a rag to dry it off, and then watch the water rapidly seeping out of it.. (My tank was 11 years old) Funny thing is, I just happen to look over at my neighbors house and I could see water dripping from the overflow pipe on the outside of his house. His hotwater tank was installed two months after mine was. I went over and told him I would like to check his hot water tank for leaks (he is 82 yrs old and I try to take care of him). Sure enough, he has the exact same water heater I have and it is leaking in the same exact spot on his. The over flow pan was (like mine), full of water and running out the overflow pipe to the outside. I will be changing his out today or tomorrow for him. He said he wants to get a new hot water heater just like the one I purchase and that he would go to Lowes and pick one up today or tomorrow.
  8. Had to swap out my water heater today. Purchased one from Lowes this morning and "thought" I would have them install it. Well I got a call from the plumber who Lowes contacted, and I told the guy my "electric" water heater is in the corner of my garage, easy access, lots of lighting, "Nothing" in the way, no stairs, crawlspaces, and it is standing at eye level. I told him I already removed the electric wires, and drained the tank for him. Copper tubing from wall to tank and CPVC from pressure relief valve to outside drain. I also told him I already purchased the new tank from Lowes and it is out of the box and is ready to install. Over the phone he tells me his labor estimate will be between $250 to $350. minimum. I said well, OK but I will change it out myself for that..thanks... so I did.. Just got done a little bit ago.. waiting for water to heat up now so I can take a shower..

  13. I will be meeting my best friend in Bridgeport and then next day, riding east to get to east side and into VA., to pick up Skyline Dr. I was going to take 219 south, but decided I want more of the mountains.. not valley floor... Many thanks for all the info...and your time !!!!!!!!
  14. I am in the midst of planning a ride and would like to ask, which road is better, has more mountains and best in scenic views...? Hwy 92 south out of Green Bank WV.....or ...Hwy 219 south out of Salty Fork WV? It appears 92 has more mountains and that is what I am looking for, but thought I would ask those who may live in that area. Thanks Eck
  15. I pulled into a parking lot, shut my GW off, and got off it. I was removing my helmet and a car pulled up on the passenger side of the bike. I was on the drivers side. A Big dog was sitting in front passenger seat and a 50ish yr old man driving. The dog never barked, just sat there looking at me and my bike. I looked at the driver and said: Can I help you? Driver said: He has never seen one up close. I said: Ah... What? Driver said: He always sees them going down the road, but he has never seen one close up. I said: Well, he can look all he wants as long as he doesn't pee on it.. The driver chuckled and said Oh, he wont pee on it and he drove off... Strange it was..
  16. Dang... he will be on TV shortly...and on an island of his own in 10 years..
  17. Randy, My son is scheduled for a business trip flying from Australia to Toronto in August. He is not sure when in August (yet)..he even said it could be postponed until Sept or Oct.. However, "if" my son comes over in August Konnie and I will not be there. If his trip is postponed then we will be there. One more note: If my sons trip is just cancelled altogether.. Konnie and I are heading west for Sturgis, Redwoods, southern CA, Durango, and back home.
  18. 186 miles of wind in the face today...rode up into TN and some back roads back home. Man it was nice..71 degrees here... OK, back to reality............it is supposed to be freezing here by tomorrow morning.. I have a hard time believing that, but according to the weather man.......it WILL BE cold tomorrow..
  19. Not sure if anyone has seen this site. Pretty neat.. Find out if your next motorcycle will fit you with Cycle-Ergo. This site allows you to input your height and inseam, look up a motorcycle, and determine how you will fit it. It tells you your body’s forward lean angle as well as your knee bend level. Because of its visual nature it’s a great tool for shorter riders or female riders to determine how much they’ll be able to flat foot a motorcycle flat foot. You can even enter custom adjustments to see how your motorcycle would fit you if it was lowered two inches. http://cycle-ergo.com/
