WOW.... Come on now, give me a break...Dang, It is really hard to please everyone...We have people in country's all over the world, and I know Aug 25th isn't a good day/ date for everyone. I do not know how to set up the calendar for, let's say, the second Saturday of August or Sept or Oct and have it repetitive every year. (Suggestions please) Not sure how to set up the 2nd WEEK of any given month where YOU choose what day of that week you want to ride (suggestions please). I'd just a-soon say the heck with all this and stop here... (238 views and only 9 responses..) I can ride any day of any month / day that I want as a memorial ride day and not have to try to satisfy everyone. Suggestions please...

If I remember correctly, Wal-Mart has a thingamabob that clamps to the sides of a phone in their auto department...I think it was around $10.00

I do not have anything that will , (say), grab the sides of a phone. I have a ball type mount clamps the ball on the back of a unit. Well I tried.. however if you find a pic of what you think you need, post it here and I will see if I can help you in some way. Until then, ride safe!!

Sorry Skid, but I never looked at what day I chose, I just picked a date in August. No matter what date I choose, in the following years it might be a Sunday, a Saturday or a Tuesday... It would never be a repetitive day every year.

I have a couple ram mounts but not sure if what I have would be what you are looking for. If you could send me a pic or give me an idea, I can look to see if what I have will work for you and all I ask is you pay the postage. You can have the mount if I have one that will work for your needs. Eck

When I am asked, I just tell them; Only a real motorcycle rider truly understands the reason a dog sticks his head out the window, and if YOU don't understand why they do it, then I certainly recommend that you should never ever get on a motorcycle........... They then end up standing there completely puzzled trying to figure out the reasons a dog does stick his head out the car window.

How about us setting August 25th as the VR memorial ride date every year? Each year on Aug 25th, we can either set up M&E's within our areas and meet up with others for the day ride or just take off and ride by yourself. We all mark down our mileage , towns visited, and maybe even take a few pics and post it all later that evening or the next day in the VR memorial day ride thread for that year. If this was a nice sentiment Star Touring Started a couple years ago, I have never heard about it. I mentioned this to a few at the TX MD this past weekend and decided to post it to get a feel how others would take it. I have never associated with Star Touring or any star group.

I have a suggestion I would like to share in regards to all the VR family members and loved ones we have lost over the years. What would you think about a set annual "ride date" where each of us can get on our bikes take a VR International "in memory of ride" for all those we have lost. Every year on that same date, we get on our bikes and ride that day and then come back and post where we rode to such as towns and amount of miles we rode, even if it was only a 1 mile ride (due to weather). I suggest we make the annual date sometime in Aug or Sept where most everyone can ride. What do you think?

While attending the TX MD, I met Masterguns (Herb). I almost wanted to make a swap / $$ deal with Herb where I rode his 1st gen back home and let him take my Goldwing... Herb, you have the cleanest looking 1st gen I have ever seen, and where "everything" on it works!!! You have done a GREAT job on your bike...!!!!!!!!!!

Don't jump to fast and get back in a bind... save a few $$$ first..(while you have a job and can). There will be other M&E's, rallies and gatherings down the road.

Holiday Inn didn't have any more rooms available and this was the last resort, (pardon the pun).

This is a common occurrence on the RSV... Everyone who owns one should turn their handle bars all the way to the LEFT and inspect the right side to see if this wire is getting pinched before they are broke down on the road, or cause a fire.. If I had my RSV, I would go take a photo and post it here so others can see exactly where it is. Bert2006, can you take a photo of yours before you fix it and post it here so others can see the location and which wire is being pinched?
