  1. Time is officially over.. Dingy, please update your total and announce winners of auction. Thanks Eck
  2. I wont be able to make it to the IR this year. I just got off the phone with my son who lives in Adelaide Australia and he and his wife are coming home for two weeks and one of them is when the IR rally is taking place. It has been five years since I have been able to see him and 7 years since I saw her. I want to spend every second I can with them both.
  3. Even has a jar of soothing cream on the toilet lid for those iron butt rides
  4. Prayers sent. ( Note: I moved this thread to the prayer request section for you)
  5. I saw this and started imagining you having one of these at the next MD you hold.
  6. From Tupelo north through Alabama to the Tennessee State line, there are opportunities for short walks, stops at prehistoric mound sites and other historical points of interest. Those who are interested in the Civil War may enjoy Tupelo National Battlefield and Brices Cross Roads National Battlefield located near Tupelo, Mississippi. Eck
  7. I have been with the green Lizard for a long time and my insurance just went up $19.00 only on my Avalanche. I had that accident with the 05 RSV but my insurance never went up. Still hasn't on the bike. Have no idea why they would raise my insurance $19.00 on the Avalanche though. I will be calling them soon to find out why. Maybe it's time for the General........
  8. Congrats Mike!!

Moved this thread to the Jokes and humor section.
  10. The difference in present-time alertness could be all that separates a dead rider from one who merely had his/her heart rate accelerated after an instantaneous, controlled swerve to avoid a catastrophe. The more in control you are of your motorcycle, the better a rider you are, and the longer you will likely enjoy riding. Motorcycle safety and better motorcycle control are part of a never-ending process of self-improvement. To enjoy riding for many more years to come, you cannot become complacent about your level of riding skill: NO MATTER HOW EXPERIENCED YOU ALREADY ARE.
  11. Keep your eye on the rear caliper for it may be "slowly" leaking around the pistons and the brake dust helps soak it up so that it always looks dry.
  12. We will ride again... Enjoyed it..!!
  13. I’ve received many remarkable nature photographs over the years but this photo of a nesting Falcon is perhaps the most remarkable Nature shot that I’ve ever seen. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did. Nature is truly breath-taking! I've sent this to most of my older friends. The younger ones probably have never seen a falcon and wouldn't recognize it.
  14. My 05 RSV (I sure miss her) and my 02 Goldwing with bushtec trailer
  15. Silence is golden - by quiet times...
  16. Wish him well for us. Thanks for letting us know he is OK.
  17. Well Gary, I'm hoping I didn't take your comment wrong, but I thought I did give the guy a whole lot of credit by saying things like: it may work as the guy designed it, it looks very ingenious, nice machining, and I'm sure it works great. Plus I said I like the brake lever also. Your comment made me feel like I kicked the guy in the arse or something. The only negative I mentioned was he needs to add a small guard, (which is most likely in the making just not in his picture yet), and that is why I said: Its a project still in works, Oh and from an engineers point of view, you are correct, for I too noticed the angle of the cable coming out of the sheath at my first glance of the photo, but I forgot to mention it. It would surely wear out fast at that angle.
  18. First off, I'm sure glad you are OK and able to tell us about your accident.be feeling a lot better..In about 3 months from now you will be feeling a lot better. As for the bike, yes., I think it can be fixed. Acceptance of the bike after it is repaired depends solely on you and you alone. I really does not matter what others may say or think about it being a repaired bike after its fixed. My opinion, as well as the others, on whether it can be repaired or not only answers your basic question of "Can it be repaired"?
  19. Well, it may work as the guy designed it, (see attached pic), but the first thing I see is a very unsafe condition that could cause one heck of a "pinch" if you ever got the section of skin between your thumb and first finger caught in the gears that are so broadly exposed. The guy needs to add a small guard / cover over the gear section even if it is a clear plastic guard. Man can you imagine doing 50MPH and get your hand caught in that gear, and just by common reaction, you quickly yank on your hand to get it out of there and at the same time the handle bars rip in the direction you yanked your hand. Just think of the instant chaos you would be in. Hell, I can already feel the pain in my hand (which is minor) compared to the pain located in many other places (knees, shoulders, ribs) caused from the wreck I just had. Other than that, it looks very ingenious, nice machining, and I'm sure it works great. I like the brake lever also.. That is different. He drilled three locations and installed chrome allen head screws just for looks. The bar is solid so other than for looks or maybe a better grip I see no other purpose for the screws from this angle anyway. I would also have to either chrome (or paint) the handle bar to hide that weld around the cable bracket. A project still in works.
