  1. That or our tax dollars will be used for the city/state to relocate all the signs higher on the poles....
  2. I heard this from the guy who restores just about anything (on TV...forgot his name). This is what he said on TV on how to remove rust on chrome............ DO NOT ball it up where it is all hard as heck, only lightly wadded up aluminum foil, shinny side out... dip it in a pail of plain tap water and then gently rub the aluminum foil on the rust and it will remove the rust from the chrome leaving no scratch marks whatsoever on the chrome.
  3. a little cultural commentary for you...
  4. That's what I was thinking...

  6. Hey, I have a question for all of those who ate at the Mexican restaurant next to the Days Inn motel last night and for those who ate breakfast at the Hearth restaurant this morning prior to our departure. Question is: Am I the only one with the stomach (and "back end" ) problems today?????? I left the resturannt in Martin and barely made it to the McDonalds in Dresden fro a needed pit stop.. then I rode about an hour and I had to make another pit stop. I pulled in my garage, and headed to the bathroom for another pit stop and have had two more pit stops since I have been home. Dang, I'm about in tears.. Just wondering if I am the only one.......... Don't know if I got a touch of food poisoning or just some a nasty stomach bug?

  10. Very (VERY) clean looking ride you got there Barry. WOW. It should bring you many happy miles. Oh, hey, by the way, did you ever receive what I sent you? Again, no hurry, just wanted to make sure you received them by now, and my offer still stands for you. If you ever need any help with questions or any "how too's", give me a ring or email me. Eck

    Sad News

I'm wondering if the right turn signal of the car was on, and the bike driver "thought" she was turning in where he was pulling out and he just pulled out in front of her? I see so many close calls from riders doing just that. They pull out in front of a vehicle that has its turn signal on...Please don't..wait...I will always wait for the front wheels of the car to start turning to the right and I look at the driver of the vehicle to ensure they see me before I pull out.
  12. Made it home safe and sound, with about 10 drops of water falling from the sky. I was dry as a bone! Would like to include many thanks to Don & Patty for their hospitality and everything they have done to pull so many people together that strengthens the VR.Org family. Hugs and love sent with best wishes on the sale of your belongings, finding your choice of motorhome, and the many new adventures headed your way. Just a reminder here: Don't forget to pick up one of those extra large black markers, so that when the rolling M&E makes a stop, those in that area can sign the side of your rig........... You two are great!! Eck
  13. Time is officially over.. Dingy, please update your total and announce winners of auction. Thanks Eck
  14. I wont be able to make it to the IR this year. I just got off the phone with my son who lives in Adelaide Australia and he and his wife are coming home for two weeks and one of them is when the IR rally is taking place. It has been five years since I have been able to see him and 7 years since I saw her. I want to spend every second I can with them both.
  15. Even has a jar of soothing cream on the toilet lid for those iron butt rides
  16. Prayers sent. ( Note: I moved this thread to the prayer request section for you)
  17. I saw this and started imagining you having one of these at the next MD you hold.
  18. From Tupelo north through Alabama to the Tennessee State line, there are opportunities for short walks, stops at prehistoric mound sites and other historical points of interest. Those who are interested in the Civil War may enjoy Tupelo National Battlefield and Brices Cross Roads National Battlefield located near Tupelo, Mississippi. Eck
  19. I have been with the green Lizard for a long time and my insurance just went up $19.00 only on my Avalanche. I had that accident with the 05 RSV but my insurance never went up. Still hasn't on the bike. Have no idea why they would raise my insurance $19.00 on the Avalanche though. I will be calling them soon to find out why. Maybe it's time for the General........
  20. Congrats Mike!!

  22. The difference in present-time alertness could be all that separates a dead rider from one who merely had his/her heart rate accelerated after an instantaneous, controlled swerve to avoid a catastrophe. The more in control you are of your motorcycle, the better a rider you are, and the longer you will likely enjoy riding. Motorcycle safety and better motorcycle control are part of a never-ending process of self-improvement. To enjoy riding for many more years to come, you cannot become complacent about your level of riding skill: NO MATTER HOW EXPERIENCED YOU ALREADY ARE.
  23. Keep your eye on the rear caliper for it may be "slowly" leaking around the pistons and the brake dust helps soak it up so that it always looks dry.
  24. We will ride again... Enjoyed it..!!
  25. I’ve received many remarkable nature photographs over the years but this photo of a nesting Falcon is perhaps the most remarkable Nature shot that I’ve ever seen. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did. Nature is truly breath-taking! I've sent this to most of my older friends. The younger ones probably have never seen a falcon and wouldn't recognize it.
