  1. My same exact thoughts Don.. As I was reading the original post, my first thought was Eddie placed an deposit down on one..
  2. I've never heard of it either.
  3. No matter what you suggest to a passenger on what to do in a case of fall over, you can bet their instinct WILL BE to put their foot on the ground, with their arm flying outward in an effort to try and catch themselves as they turn their head in the direction they are falling so they can also smash their face on the pavement. Here is a test for you as the driver.. Go sit in a chair on you living room carpet, and let your mate push you over sideways and I want to hear you tell me that you can hold your arms in, and NOT put your leg out to catch yourself....and not LOOK to see what's coming... It is a normal human instinct to protect oneself. All the preaching in the world will never stop them (or yourself) from reacting in a normal human protective manor. It's like this: Yea honey, if I happen to accidently drop the bike over, I want you to just sit there and keep your feet planted here, don't move them!!! And put your hands hands together and pull them in around your chest, and turn your head AWAY from the direction we are falling.. Oh yea, I can see it now.... All I see is the driver extend his leg out in direction the bike is falling, cussing, grunting, and them JUMPING out of the way and letting whatever happens, happen to the bike and to their loved one, and hope for the best..only to find out the palm of the hand, their elbow is all scuffed up and their leg or foot is lodged between the bike and the pavement. Then as the driver goes to pick up the bike (it comes first) their mate is rolling outward using words that would make a sailor squinch. Then the driver realizes he put the bike before his loved one, and as he stands there holding his bike, fumbling for the kick stand as he looks in the direction of his mate with this strange look of concern.. he said, are you ok honey? Yep.. I see that you saw it too.......
  4. Hope you get the bike maintained and ready for some of the upcoming rallies and events we are having. This way you can attend and meet up with a bunch of family members here. Click here to see what is coming up: http://www.venturerider.org/rally/

  7. Did you by chance have your left side fin cover off?
  8. I have never heard of anyone doing this Bob..... However, if you decide to take a shot at this, it would pay off to video your process of how it was done and if it works as you expect it to, we can post it in the tech article section. I love guinnie pigs...

  12. Just a heads up here. This was just posted on another site and thought I would share it here for those who it may help. This is REALLY cheap to mount a tire nowadays.. King George Tire in King George VA will mount mc or ct for $10 if you carry in your rim/tire. They will put your beads and valve stems in too. Then I found this link that was found to be interesting.. http://murgie.com/installers.pdf
  13. Wow.. this is crazy fast.. in a small historical town no less.... Some people get what they ask for, some don't and are considered lucky, or stupid..
  14. Yoders, in Sarasota................heck yea... Every time I go to Sarasota I take my mom there. Excellent food and lots of space for everyone. :thumbsup2: The Dutchman is also a fine buffet restaurant. My wife and I stop there every time we go to Sarasota and every time we head back home to Alabama.
  15. You have a beautiful family Barry. Just don't let the GW take time away from them.....
  16. I'm not so certain I would let Mike get around my GW now, without me standing next to it .... Of course this is because of some comments he was making while at B2Mom & Dad's....(all in a joking manor now)... Yep, they were something in line with tearing off all the chinsy Tupperware off my GW so he can get access to stir the insides up and some other Tupperware comments. ....... See, Harleys aren't the only bikes that get ribbed all the time.. That's OK Mike, I'll still let you ride with me....if you can keep up.... All joking aside, Mike does some beautiful craftsmanship and one can tell he puts his heart into what he does. Great Job Mike.!!
  17. So far my GW has not had any loose nuts except one... "ME"........
  18. Found this interesting, and just thought I would share it. http://darkside.nwff.info/?p=tires
  19. Yea Bob, Been fine yesterday and so far today.. back to normal.. I really think now it was all the Mexican sauce I ate (the sauce you dip the chips in.) I B fine now..........
  20. Well thanks, and I get your point GAWildKat. Your so kind and I thank you for your comments but I think you have this somewhat wrong. See, I was not left out at all. It was ME who decided that I didn't want to go because I truthfully didn't want to go to the restaurant that everyone went to. I wanted Mexican that night, and I surely didn't want to ask people to join me at the Mexican restaurant when there was a pre-planned party at the other restaurant. Now that surely would not have been a cool thing to do. It was not that I didn't want to be social at all either, it's just that I like and wanted Mexican, so I chose to do what Eck wanted to do at that time. No biggie, not left out, just a peaceful evening by myself that's all. You will see that many times I may not do what everyone else does. That doesn't mean I don't want to be social or like where they are going. I knew they would be back at the motel sooner or later, but I wanted to go rest and sleep so I did that too. I guess it is also because I have had to follow so many rules and others all my life being told what I can and cant do and now that I am retired I do what Eck wants to do when I want to do it. SO please by all means, don't take this as if I am mad or being mean. I'm not and that is not my intention at all here. I am basically relaxing and just doing my thing while I'm on my so called vacation in life (retirement). That is all.
  21. Stretching the quantity a little aren't we here now. I surely didn't drink 49 beers. And I could have drank a whole lot more than I really did. I have been known to drink 3 times that though. Beer doesn't effect me like it does most people. I've become almost immune, and I have always known when to stop..(and I have never had this effect from beer before..Lots better today though..) And for the record here please, because I drank those 9 beers on Friday, that is why I did not ride my GW to the restaurant with everyone so that I did not create an unsafe environment for all of you. I wanted everyone to be safe and I knew I had a few to drink so I played it safe for you and myself. I stayed at the motel when everyone left for the restaurant and I just walked next door to the Mexican restaurant for two more beers and a meal.
