Heck, I can hear it down here........... It sounds great!!!!!!!!!!!!

Down here they don't have that E-Check, so that is why I used the tape. The truck ran like a champ even with the light on, so I did not change out the canister. The light was annoying though. When I was looking at replacing the canister, they were only about $20 bucks. I decided to sell the truck because I really didn't need two avalanches since I was retiring. I told the guy about the tape and he said heck, I will leave it there.

Kirby, You might be right on here.. I remember when I picked up this piece off a shelf in an old barn today that beneath the shelf there was a very old hand plow. I put my hand on the plow, but I was not interested in it. This old part caught my eye and I never once gave thought that it could have attached to that plow somehow where animals could pull it.. Would like to find out what the name of this thing is though. Thanks for the insite! Eck

I picked these up today in southern Alabama (Barn find) along with attachments & accessories... Not near as fast as my wing but they both have potential..

(quote) solenoid......the one under the bed is almost always the culprit. YEP, it sure is Don.. This is one of those "well known" problems on the Avalanche. My 05 had the same problem.. I found it amazing what a small piece of black electrical tape placed over that warning light does. I mean, hey, mine never came on again ...that I know of............

(Quote) - I caught something a couple weeks ago. Some type of bug. Haven't been flying lately have ya?.... Sorry your not up to par Dan... Hope you kick it here shortly whatever it is...!!

I have never seen one of these things and I have NO idea as to what it is or for.. It looks something like a lawn mower trailer hitch of some type? Watch it be something I should have owned years ago.............

Dang, I thought it was you Troy, but I could not remember to be sure. Did you get the cap off the tank yet? You can not take it apart until it is off the tank.... Once off the tank you will need to remove the two Phillip screws on bottom side of cap and then it comes apart. Anybody have an idea on how to remove the gas cap from the tank. The key goes in to the cap, the key turns in the cap, but the locking mechanism in the cap will not turn to unlock, the cap and he can not get his cap off the tank.. ??? ... Looking for ideas.............

So sorry, but I forgot who it was who called me yesterday, about his gas cap that is stuck on his bike and he can not get it off with the key? After speaking to you about your problem and how the gas cap comes apart, I recommended that you call Muffinman, for he may have a better idea on how to get your gas cap off. Then, after I hung up I could not remember your name?? Just wondering if you were able to get ahold of Muffinman, was he able to help you, and did you get your gas cap off yet? Checking up on you...(whoever you are..ha)

Ignition on...starts leaking gas
Eck replied to Patmac6075's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
Prairiehammer beat me to it.. I just came back to edit my first post to tell you that your carbs may be stuck too....causing an overflow...(appearing as fuel leak) If the gas is leaking out of a hose in front of your rear tire then I would expect one of the carb floats is stuck open -
Ignition on...starts leaking gas

The clicking IS the fuel pump...and the puddle of gas IS a fuel leak. Oh, you already knew that.. I would look at the "outlet" fuel line hose starting at the fuel pump and follow it. Either a clamp is loose, or the hose is cracked -
Happy Birthday Tippi!!!!!!!! Enjoy your day!! And here I thought this thread was an "early notification" of her birthday just as the thread about "is it Christmas yet" ............

When I bought my RSV, I loved it. Like many, I added all kinds of after market accessories and enhancements and a few of my own touches making it different than any other one out there. I mean I really grew close to that bike because it was a very attractive bike and it was the best bike I ever owned. When I wrecked it, I was at a deciding point in much of what this thread is speaking of. Would I buy a new RSV again. After days of searching bikes in general, all types and models, I evaluated all the options on all of them out there that I reviewed. I wanted electronic ignition next, the CD player, Mp3 player, and that same smoothness when idling, including cruise control (again). I bought my Goldwing. Much different at first in handling, a heck of a lot WIDER between the knees but much more powerful. I can honestly say I will not buy another RSV unless Yamaha does get with the times. I would not want carbs or a tape player again. The RSV looks more of what a motorcycle should look like, than the Wing does though. But hey, one good thing about the wing is I can wash and dry it a heck of a lot quicker being all Tupperware...

So true......

I think more and more people are going to be doing just the same, but then I would expect to see in the "daily" news, more individual hold-ups and or purse snatchings. Here's a thought.. Carry two wallets.. One with all your money and cards and another wallet with two or three bucks in it and old "cancelled" Credit cards. If being robbed, hand the thief the wallet with the couple bucks and cancelled credit cards and tell them that's all you have.

At first, it appears you have your face inside a funnel and your trying to see light through the small end. As time passes, you never notice it, but that funnel slowly turns around and you now see new adventures, meet new friends, and you are starting a new beginning in life. As more time passes, you will one day look back and say Geesh, and here I thought the world was ending and yet it was the BEST darn thing that ever happened to me. Hang in there for there IS light at the end of that funnel...

The strangest thing I ever saw was a dead horse at the end of a driveway laying next to the garbage cans.. This was in Summertown, TN...
