Update as of 11/26/2014 Prayers are working. I was told today that he is still in very much pain. He sat up in bed and he is now off oxygen mask but still taking it thru his nose. Kidney is failing, he cant walk, cant feed himself.. Dr. said he may be able to go home sometime in January, but not before Christmas, but he will be bed ridden for quite some time. Special care will be needed at his home to help take care of him.. I do have the hospital address that he is in and room number, but I have been "again" requested NOT to mention his name, so I thank you for your understanding on this..Thanks !!!! Edit: This is not related in any way to a motorcycle accident

Hwy 6 looks like it would leave one speachless.......

Goldwing's do have many accessories, but Honda isn't even close to Harley's one stop shopping. If you want a Goldwing part you most always have to order that part on line. You can stop in at most any Harley dealer and purchase anything you may ever need or want.

Thanks for the heads up.. Glad I quit smoking years ago... Yesterday I was searching for a mini bike tail light assembly on Google. I came across a heck of a deal for $18.00 for the whole light assembly including turn signals all mounted on a base. I started to fill out the information to purchase it and realized I would be ordering it from CHINA. To complete the order they wanted my email address, phone number and of course my credit card info.............I stopped right there and deleted my order. I never filled out the information section. It was to good to be true...... Im sure they would have had a hay-day with my credit card info and my cell phone number...........

Follow up - progress on the rebuild of my Auranthetic Charger. Date: 11-24-2014 Sanded down all remaining parts such as rear fender, frame, electrical box cover, headlight bucket, tail light / license plate bucket assembly, masked everything off and sprayed primer on all parts needing paint "except for" the gas tank. I dropped the gas tank off today at a print shop and they are going to duplicate the one decal that is on the tank for me. Once the decal is made I can sand down the tank, prime it and then spray everything with a 1971 Hugger orange color which is about as close as it gets to original. Whoever played with the wiring on this thing needs his butt kicked. So many splices in the wiring. Like one wire which is only 6 inches long yet it has three red connector splices in it. Don't know why they didn't just replace that one wire...in to much of a hurry and didn't have another piece of wire I guess. It will be right when I get done with it. I am not sending the chrome parts out to be re-chromed.. I am not going to go thru that expense. The chrome parts are cleaning up really well though.

Saw this on another site and thought it would be appreciated here. Hope you all have a Happy and safe Thanksgiving! Eck A Bikers Thanksgiving Prayer (author unknown) I give thanks for the long rides that stretch from morning to late afternoon and into the evening. For the miles and curves that vanish beneath my tires, those hours when time loses all meaning. For those days when I ride so long my throttle hand is sore and I walk a bit bow-legged when I finally park the bike. ... I am thankful for the sound of my motorcycle as I sit so proudly on it. It’s like hearing my favorite song drifting from a stranger’s window as I walk along the street. I stop what I'm doing and listen. Pure joy. I am thankful for hazards recognized, for dangers avoided, for skills and broken-in brake pads and good tread on the tires. I give thanks for the wise riding tips and techniques my more experienced brothers and sisters of the road have taught to me. I give thanks that I ride and live and live to ride again. I give thanks for the gathering of riders, for being able to recognize friend’s bikes approaching by their sound, for seeing good companions slow and turn into the lot. For the glad hugs and laughter, the banter, the growing impatience to be out on the road again. I give thanks for that good company as I see them ahead of me drift to the outside then dip into the curve, one-two-three-four, like seagulls banking and then straighten up, one-two-three-four and fly on down the road. I give thanks for those I come to know and care about over the months and years of riding the same roads to the same places. I am thankful for those who I love and who love me simply because we love the same thing--to ride on two wheels in the freedom of the wind. I give thanks for the sense of “Being” that riding has given me, the freedom to be who I am no matter what others think. The sense of empowerment and control over my self and my life. The ability to take on risk and fear and triumph in challenge. To ride my own ride whether in that good company of bikers or by myself. I am thankful that I have found my peace in the wind.

Congrats to your granddaughter and Shawn. I bet they sure are excited. I've only went deer hunting one time in my life. I remember it well.. Got up at 3am with brother in law and headed to Bald Eagle mountain in PA. It was cold and drizzling..Walked up the mountain part way and sat under a big pine. Brother in law said he was going 150 ft to my right. I Waited...waited...waited..and waited for deer.. 9am, I got up and headed to top of mountain. A 3 mile hike, in the rain...Never did see my brother in law again...Decided I had enough.. headed down the mountain. I hear something and I stopped moving. Next thing I see is 6 deer running right towards me. Then they all stopped not 40 feet from me. We were all looking at each other. I raised the riffle, looked through the scope and had the largest one in the cross hairs.. I lowered the gun, and stood there. I could not shoot one. I stomped my feet and began yelling get, get, get.. and they all took off. I waled down the mountain back to the truck and there was the brother in law.. dry as heck. He said he gave up about an hour into the day and came back to the truck. I have never gone hunting again in my life. I don't eat deer so why hunt them. I leave them in the woods for people like you who do hunt and eat them.

Folks, I just now received a call from a VR family member. (9:15pm Alabama time) A VR family member needs us to pray for them.. now.. PLEASE, just say a little prayer... For who you may ask: The person's name isn't important for us to know for the good lord knows his name. In fact, he has his angels standing at this person's door right now. I was requested NOT to say anything (yet) on the VR.Org site. And so I agreed. I did not agree (or mention) that I would post a prayer request............... I will post more details when asked to. I will be in touch.

Well here we are again- it's 11-20-2014 and I spent the day continuing the tear down of the Auranthetic Charger Orange. As of today I have remove every single bolt, washer and nut. Every single wire. 100% of everything has been taken apart. I removed the rear wheel, swing arm, rear shocks, entire wire harness after identifying where every wire goes or attaches to. I removed the electric motor. I then started sanding down the frame. Tore the rear wheel apart, cleaning the rear brake shoes, rear hub, and rear wheel including every spoke on the rear wheel. Check out the pics slowly and you will be able to tell the difference between the " before" and "after" elbow grease that was applied....... Hope you enjoy the pics near as much as I enjoyed the tear down. Next phase will be sanding down every "orange" part and getting them ready for primer and paint. Frame is completely sanded down to bare metal and ready for prime. As I removed each part off the frame/bike, I cleaned it buffed it out, waxed it, and marked it as to what it is and where it goes and included my own hand drawings to ensure it goes back in place upon re-assembly. As you look at the pictures you can see that little by little the frame is becoming bare...I hope you enjoy following me along on this as much as I enjoy doing it,. Thanks for looking!! Might be better to start at the bottom picture and work up to see actual progress of the tear down. Eck

Took my Wing here one time. They are located not far from you in Sumter, SC. http://www.esyp.com/ They made special arrangements to work on my bike on a Saturday which normally they do no mechanic work on Saturdays and they didn't apply an extra charge to do the work I needed that day. I waited and was able to watch, and talk with, the mechanic as he did the work. The had two Yamaha Ventures in the back. One getting new sneakers and an oil change and one getting carbs rebuilt. I will go back if ever in that area just to say hi again. They made me feel welcome and appreciated.

Took off front wheel front forks/ tubes triple tree, cleaned, lubed and waxed all those parts. Notice how rusty the front wheel "was" and what it looks like now after cleaning/ waxing.. what a job. Front brake shoes have lots of meat on them yet. Disassembled, cleaned waxed, applied grease where needed, and now ready for re-assembly when ready. Rebuilt front forks, cleaned, waxed those, bearings are fine, will be cleaning and re-lubing those before re-assembly, Been marking a few wires as to where they go and what they are for before disconnecting them. I plan on replacing every wire from start to end to ensure they are right. Handlebars were a little rusty but a little more disassembly of wires and elbow grease and they turned out nice as seen in pics below. I removed the rear fender, tail light housing and light assembly including wiring. Wont be long and I will be down to the frame. I have been taking pictures before I disassemble anything...Again the battery acid took its tool on the paint job.. I am in a dilemma on striping and repainting it or just re-assembling it and maintain the original paint job. I have one decal on the gas tank that I can not find a replacement. I DONT want to loose this decal..Applying heat and careful removal may be in the future as an attempt to remove it from the tank, but I am not certain this will work. It is a one shot deal no matter what..So that is why I am thinking of leaving the paint job as it is.. but again, I am not sure what I will do yet.. DUH...............

Even pulled the trailer she is sitting in.. Neat ad!! -
I knew about the aluminum foil trick years ago, however I don't do it the way it was posted though, but close. I clean the part first using soap and water, dry it, then I use chrome wax and apply a small amount on a small 2" x2" piece of foil and rub the rusted part. The amount of effort seems to be reduced and the satisfactory end results are achieved as seen in my pics above. Using water and aluminum foil works. When you see the grey color, that is the paste that forms to remove the rust. I just go ahead and apply a chrome cleaning paste to get going faster...
