No Rick this is not so...There are people on the VR.Org FB forum that are NOT VR.ORG members...This is what we are trying to stop.. We need to verify that the requestor (who wants to join the VR Facebook forum), actually "IS" a VR.ORG member...At least this is what we are trying to do........

Well there are several methods out there using aluminum foil so here are just a few. Pour Coke or any type of soda on your rusty chrome. Crumple up some aluminum foil and use it to scrub the nasty rust away. Rinse with warm water and wipe dry. Used baking soda mixed in water, dip crumbled aluminum foil in mixture and rub the rust away...Rinse with warm water and wipe dry I personally use car was (Liquid Turtle wax) and small pieces of crumbled up aluminum foil and rub on the rusted parts. If this doesn't remove all the rust, I then use a very soft wire wheel that put it in my drill motor, and "lightly" I mean lightly buff the rusted areas, then go back with the wax & aluminum foil, rinse, dry and then I wax the whole part to look like new. Now here is another neat trick.. If you are tired of that aluminum foil tube coming out of the box when you pull out a piece... look at each end of the box and you will see a tab that folds inward to hold the cardboard tube in the box,,,,,duh....this works on the saran wrap box also.......how about that!

Restorations, Modifications and Customizations section
Eck replied to Eck's topic in Requests for Features
No need to set this up unless others want it bud. I myself have posted in the watering hole the progress of the rebuild I am doing on my Auranthetic Mini bike.. I realized yesterday, that I now have about 4 different threads in the watering hole showing the progress.. I thought if we had a forum section related to restorations, mods or customizations, I could move everything to that one section and keep it all in one "personal thread" of my own. If others have no need for this then there is no need for you to waste your time on it... unless you see a benefit in setting it up.- 2 replies

Was just sitting here wondering if it would be possible to add a "Restorations, Modifications and Customizations" forum section, where we could create our own threads based on our own personal motorcycle related restorations, modifications and or customizations and be able to add related photos showing the "before and after" progress of such, where we can keep this information contained in one forum and separate and not mixed in with, the watering hole and or other forums. (Quote- Cowpuc) Did you try the "tin foil" routine for chrome cleanup or is that one of those fine steel wool and chrome polish finger wearing out jobs (either way = nice)? Not a re-chrome is it?? Well it is NOT a re-chrome cowpuc...I am not going to re-chrome any part of this thing. I did both, the tin foil routine and the fine steel wool with wax on it and my finger... Cleaned the rust off and waxed all in one motion, then after all the rust was removed, I waxed the fender again... As for the tail light lens, I could NOT find a replacement lens. I had to search to find a tail light assembly that was as close to the original as I could and found that a RUPP tail light assembly is the closest thing to it so I bought one of their tail light assemblies. Then when I went to mount the tail light assembly onto the tail light bracket of course the mounting holes don't line up so I had to take the tail light assembly apart to remove the backing plate, do a hand lay out of hole locations in T-light bracket, drill holes in backing plate and then mount it to the bracket. When I was done I was impressed...........ha

Hey Freebird, Being in agreement with your concern of just adding members to the FB page and NOT being a VR.Org member, how do you think we should "block" the interested party on FB before someone comes along and just accepts them on to the FB forum? I blocked the person, and that was the only way I could think of to avoid someone coming behind me and just accepting the person. This may not be the right way to do it though... Any thoughts from others is welcomed here now............... Eck

So........... what do you think of the difference of my rear fender and tail light housing/light assembly now? The first 3 pics are the before.. and the last pic is the after.. I like it..

Chris Hammon wanted to join our FB page, but I did not see him listed as a VR.Org member. I sent him a message on his FB page requesting him to join VR.Org. first and then he can become a member on our FB page. I accidendently blocked him on FB, and I am not sure how to undo what I did . If anyone knows Chris, as a member here please accept his request on FB. I could not find his name in our community. Thanks Eck

A husband went to police station to report his missing wife: Husband : I've lost my wife, she went shopping yesterday and has still not come home. Sergeant : What is her height ? Husband : Oh, 5 something . . . Sergeant : Build? Husband : Not slim, not really fat. Sergeant : Color of eyes? Husband : Never noticed. Sergeant : Color of hair? Husband : Changes according to season. Sergeant : What was she wearing? Husband : Dress/suit/blue jeans -- I don't remember exactly. Sergeant : Did she go in a car? Husband : yes. Sergeant : What kind of car was it? Husband : 2015 Corvette Stingray 3LT with the Z51 Performance Package, shark gray metallic paint, with the 6.2 liter V8 engine with Direct Injection generating 460 HP. 8-speed paddle-shift automatic transmission, and GT bucket seats, and has a very thin scratch on the front left door....... At this point the husband started crying... Sergeant : Don't worry sir.......We'll find your car.

I posted a picture of the gas tank so you can see the original decal and then a picture of the reproduced decal. Now its off to the sandblaster to remove the paint from the gas tank..

EDIT 03-05-15 - THIS PLACE WENT OUT OF BUISNESS,,,,,,,,,,, Name of Restaurant Tin Roof Burgers Street Address 1000 Swancott Rd City Huntsville State or Province AL Website (Optional) https://www.facebook.com/pages/Tin-Roof-Burgers/1493752670874716 Quality of Food Fantastic Quality of Service Great Biker Friendly? (Parking, Trusted Location, Etc.) Yes Kind of Food? (Mexican, Chinese, etc.) Freshly hand/home made Burgers & fries Alcohol Served? No Additional Comments Tin Roof Burgers.....All I can say is OMG........ My first bite and I was hooked. My wife and I both felt it was the best burger either of have ever ate and the fries (real- fresh and home made potato fries) were off the hook!!!!!!! We enjoyed our burgers & fries so much we ate lunch AND dinner there on the same day. Yes, twice in same day. The owner (Tim), was shocked to see us come back so soon. We called in our order, got in the truck and when we walked in the door the burgers were coming off the grill for us. I recommend clicking on the FB link, reviewing the menu and then call in your order because everything is slowly hand made fresh and it takes a lot longer to get your burger than it does at one of those fast food places. If you just walk in, you might have to wait 20 minutes for the burger of your life. Tim really cares about making a darn good meal and he wants you to be satisfied with it. Konnie and I will be going back ... OFTEN too........
