  1. I'm willing to bet it is a loose nut between seat and steering wheel.....I'm in agreement with cowpuc that it is the CV joint......
  2. Thoughts and prayers sent your way...Sorry to hear of this.
  3. Very nice indeed.. You may find it impossible to find it when it snows...........
  4. Squidley who? Oh, I remember you now......you are the one who wouldn't let me auction off a black helmet at the TX MD event last year...Man I bet I could have gotten at least $20 bucks for that thing. SUre glad you and Lonna are both doing great bud. Hope to see you again this year if at all possible. Until then, ride safe whenever you do get a chance to ride.
  5. What shocking news... He was one heck of a guy...Wow...Im speechless.
  6. I remember Dan having one Heiny to many...........
  7. Havent heard from you since you posted this...So did they come and arrest you?.....
  8. Many thanks for the suggestion djh3. I would have drilled it but this crack is so large that there is only about 2 inches of material left that is not broken. I'm aware of drilling the end of the crack to stop it from cracking more and have done this many times on things in the past, but I don't care of this thing breaks completely in half now. It wont go anywhere with the two wire ties I put on it even if it broke the rest of the way. I plan on changing it out this coming week anyhow. You must be an engineer also...
  9. Folks, I wanted to express a safety concern to all of you before you jump on that bike and head out for that long over due ride. With the temps rising and melting all that snow in some states, and all those other states where more than normal rain has fallen, please remember that the city/state road crews have put down salt and gravel on the overpasses and that there are many many many more places where you could loose control of your ride due to loose rocks and gravel and salt laying in the sharp curves and on a lot of road surfaces. Even though you think you know how to ride safely, please do ride with extreme caution the first few times out this riding season. We want you to have a safe riding season!!! Thanks for listening..... Eck
  10. Sure am glad to hear this... I was all in agreement with SilverT and getting ready to state my thoughts on the elderly needing to take an exam to get a drivers license.....I am still surprised though that they just gave one to your grandmother and did not require an eye, coordination test of some sort.
  11. Pete, I think I saw your number in the men's room on I-5......(kidding)
  12. I went in to renew my expired drivers license the other day. The lady behind the desk looks at my expired drivers license and asks: Is everything the same, address, endorsements, etc... I say: Yes it is Then she replies: I strongly suggest we change your hair color from BRN to Silver..... Hummmmmmmm
  13. [quote=SilvrT;898244 ooops... I think I posted it in the wrong section ..:is it possible that I can change it? Thread has been moved to the Jokes and Humor section.
  14. As a caring husband I saw that my wife was busy in the kitchen and so I offer to help her. “Honey, what can I do to help you?” She says: “Take this bag of potatoes, peel half of them, and put them in the big pot with water.” So I did..
  15. Well if you left Hamilton and headed east, you could spend a night in Huntsville and save motel and food costs..........then as you head north ad farther east, there could be a Goldwing in your mirror for about 4 to 5 hours...a stop for lunch, and you could continue heading east / north while the Goldwing returns to Huntsville. I would strongly recommend Marlington Motor Inn as your hub. They have a restaurant and lounge on site and are very motorcycle friendly. There are many roads I could tell you about that you will never forget.. Let me know if interested. Or you could just mail me a check for $1,000 and I will tell you how the trip went and even post pics for you to view.. Eck
  16. Heck, I told my wife I was going to forward the clocks... Three days later I remembered to do it..
  17. Good luck.. I usually do get a flu shot but this year I didn't. My wife got sick first, then she started feeling a lot better after 3 or 4 days, then I got sick and then she got it all over again.
  18. I bet between you and I and a couple others here, we could do some damage on "someone's" Goldwing...........:rotf:
  19. Yes we did and I just wrote my survey reply out today telling them what a joke that place was.. Wont make any difference, but I felt better typing it up...... Konnie and both are doing a lot better now.. about 85% back to whatever normal is...
  20. Ha... Fastest I ever ride is around 80 MPH...and that is on the super slab.. Most of the time I'm doing average of 35 to 65 mph...I have slowed down a lot over the past two years.. I don't know if a bird hit it or what. There is no marks on it that I could see. no blood..no body parts or shoe imprints.....
  21. It took me a total of about 45 minutes to do this. I didn't pick the shelter up off the bike but only lifted it high enough to get my hands in there to flatten the tip of the coax and plug it back in and reinstall everything including the seat and back rest. I have it down to a science now I think.., I know I have to remove the two side covers, the seat, and being I have done this a few times I already know what Allen wrench I need for the top and sides of shelter, a Philip screw driver for the two screws on each side of the ignition switch, and the socket needed for the nuts on each side of shelter. Once I grab everything I need, I put it all on my roll around cart I use and just get to it. Just remember to pull the intercom wire up out of the left side pocket "before" you install any shelter screws...........Just ask me how I know....duh..
  22. Was cleaning and waxing the bike and noticed the lower cowl on left lower side was split in half. Luckily, I have another cowl but it needs to be painted. So being the weather is not right to paint (yet), I just drilled 4 holes, two holes on each side of the break, and I used two plastic wire ties to hold it together until I do get a chance to paint the lower replacement cowl and swap them out.. I see no signs of running over anything or any place of impact that could have caused it to break in half.. 1st time I ever seen or heard of this on a GW.. See, Harleys are not the only bikes that need a little help now and then..
  23. For those of you with a GW1800, if you ever remove the shelter to perform any kind of maintenance (like replacing the air filter or such), I highly recommend that you take a pair of pliers and carefully flatten / crimp the metal tip of the antenna coax cable (just flatten it a little now...) and then insert it into the back of the radio so that it pushes into the radio firmly.. My radio quit and for some reason my antenna coax cable just slipped out of the back of the radio. It has been OK for the past 4 years. I have not had the shelter off for at least that many years. All of a sudden, no radio, and come to find out my coax fell out of the radio.. I had to pull the shelter to re-install it so I flattened the tip of the coax just a little bit to help hold it in place.
  24. Not this year... but I did get the shingles shot...
  25. Add $500.00 to your asking price and send it to him. Tell him this IS your bottom dollar..
