WOW.......What was I thinking.... Ok, it's time to be truthful.. Did you ever read something, and want to move some words around or delete a few, never adding any, to create what you were really thinking when you read it??? Well, I read this posting and WOW........what an example you can use to try this with. Use this posting as a sample.... Rules are: You can move words around You can delete as many words as you wish You CAN NOT add any words You can add periods, question marks or other items to bring out your thoughts.....(Easy now Beer30)........ but see what YOU come up with. Rosebud...your gonna kill me......... (all in fun though).. -
sounds like a plan!! You could also use liquid aluminum in place of the JB Weld..... Colorwise...it would blend in fairly well with the suraounding area after sanding it to a smooth surface

I have never had insurance luck like this.......... Every accident I have been in cost me much loss.....and the cause was by the other driver in every case but one ( I hit a boat.trialer and car one time..unreal!). The girl’s insurance (USAA) considered it totaled – paid off the loan, compensated me for 30 days time without the bike and threw in some extra cash (probably because I didn’t have a hospital bill). I was fortunate enough to be able to acquire another black cherry 2006 from the dealer and came away pretty much break-even.

Russ, Sounds like a neat idea in my opinion, but hey, who cares what I think ..lol Do you by chance have any idea on how long the antenna would be when it in it's "collapsed" position???????? I guess it would collapse into the base itself...and if so, you would still would need to know how long the base is to see if it would fit in the side bag. Also, how long would it be in it's "extended" position?? As for placeing it in the fairing...I guess you could, but not sure about how that would look or if it would be a visual obstruction or distraction, flopping around in the wind??? I would be interested as to what the "diameter" is to see if it would fit inside a chrome piece of tubing (like the water inlet tube of a toilet..or simular..) ...You could install the chrome tube right where the antenna mount is now on your bike, then mount the motorized one inside the chrome tube......just thinking out loud here...Ill get back in my box now... The time is shown in the same dash window as you mileage is shown... Forgot off the top of my head how to get you there though... Its in the manual, but I never use mine cause it is to small... Cant see it easily and I surely dont want to take my eye off the road for a long period of time to try to see the time...

Yep, Gas line hose at petcock could be the culprit... or like Phardus said, could be the Tank vent hose under the chrome bezel not being istalled properly if at all...or it could be pinched closed... When the dealer technician sync'd your carbs he could have "leaned" your carbs on the high side........ You say your bike runs and starts fine...Have you had your bike up to say about 75 or 80 since the carb sync? See if it has "all" the power it used to have at a high speed.. If it seems to run ok until you hit 75 or more then it seems to "strain" to go any faster, then I would say the carbs are not sync'd properly causing the strong gas smell..cylinders 1&2 may be sync'd and 2 & 4 may sync'd but cylinders 1&2 are not sync'd with 3&4....this causes the bike to run OK and start OK, but has a loss of power at a high speed.

Improving Lines of the Saddlebag Guard Rails
Eck replied to Freebird's topic in Body, Plastic, Paint and Seats
I have always thought the bag rails looked "out of line" with the angel of the side bags and because of that, I have never purchased the side bag rails....I didnt like the looks of them. But now, this modification makes them align up like they should with the angle of the side bags. Have one question on this mod: Does the "angle" of the bottom rail bar, line up with the "angle" of the muffler, once the muffler is re-installed? I wont be getting bag rails soon, but when I do, I will definately mount them like you just did. Other (stupid info): I noticed the long green and red carpet you have on the floor in pics #1 and #6....... We have one in our garage that looks like a perfect match!!!! -
I must say ........... I totally agree with ruffrider..... Very good info!!

Condor, Your question is basically the same as this one: What in Gods green earth makes a two year olds pair of blue jeans so cottin pickin expensive..... Major manufactures have these things priced up in the same area as a full blown 250 lb mans pair of blue jeans... No way does it cost anywhere near what one of those would cost......... Welcome to America.........Build it and they (come) and buy it!!!!!

IF>>>>> IF>>>> IF>>> if the leak if coming from between the valve cover and the head, you must replace the valve cover gasket.. No other choice..except one thing you can try... Check to see if the VALVE COVER hardware is tight... if not, tighten it per spec and see if leak is still there... IF it is......valve cover gasket replacement time..... My guess is the valve cover hardware is not tight.....and retightening it just MAY work... try it and see..
