(Inside joke here:) RuffRider Im sure glad to see your really taking care of my wheels... I mean, since I am the benificiary of your bike now. You clean them rims up real good now for me OK..??... and make sure you put on some really nice new tires for me too. Seriously now... Did you possibly put to much Ride-on in the tire to where it was high enough on the inside to be around the rim "seat" area? I would think that the Ride-on material itself would stay much more "plyable" per say, down in your area (hot Florida), than it would say up in Michigan or Canada (cooler/ colder areas). When I removed my tires (with ride on in them) there was aproximately a two inch wide section that went completely around the tire tread and none of it touched the rim seating area. The Ride on material was not real soft, to where it "ran" as I moved the tire. It was plyable to where I was able to push or move the material around a little with my finger. It was not runny ..like maple syrup...but more like chilled butter. You could write to (email) Ride on, and state your dissatisfaction of results in a kind way and see what they say. Im interested in thier reply myself. If I remember correctly, they offer a discount to the VR members and you can mention in your contact letter to them that you are a VR member and that you have posted your concerns on th esite and are awaiting thier reply. Just remember: "Kind words" play a large part when expecting a satisfactory reply:thumbsup2:

I remember a pizza place my wife and I went to in Huntsville about 10 years ago. The waitress brought it out, sat it on the table, and all of a sudden a damn roach fell from the air vent above our table right into the center of the pizza... My wife screamed and we both jumped up out of the booth. The waitress didnt know what to say.. We told the waitress she can have it back and im not paying a dime for anything..as I was saying that, another couple who just sat down next to us got up and they too decided they didnt want to eat there either. We have NEVER been back.....the place has since closed..

A freind of mine went and asked me to go with him, but I couldnt.. He called me from there and said it rained the whole way there and was sprinkling as he was speaking to me on the phone. He said it was the worst ride he ever had. Sat in a traffic jam north of Atlanta for two hours in the rain.. I told him I was sure glad I couldnt go......!!!

Squidley, Sorry bud, but I didnt know you were having problems with your bike. I dont remember reading a post of yours saying you were having problems with yours. I couldnt help you with brake parts anyway beacuse I dont have any. If I did you know you would have been welcome to them. I could however send you some brake fluid ....in a plastic bag?
-
Unreal.. I would have to request a "loaner" until they get the bike repaired completely... They owe that to you since they did the damage.. Why miss out on some riding when it was thier fault your bike is in the shop..
-
Gene, I removed the two stock steel nuts. Then installed two plastic nuts of same size........ They both thread on by hand, they dont vibrate off, and are easily removed by hand....no tools required......
-
With bike up on jack, wheels off ground, see if there is a drag when turning the front or rear wheels... A bad or binding wheel bearing, sticky brake caliper, anything that would OLD YOU BACK..in a sence.. It may not have anything to do with the running of the bike, but something holding it back..

I'm so sorry to hear this Boo. Sure hate to start my day hearing this type of news. Makes me realize more and more of the dangers of riding a motorcycles. Bad news of this nature tends to make us somewhat more on the "paranoid side" when riding and more visually and mentally cautious of our surroundings. It reminds and makes us more aware of the constant dangers out there on the road. I know that sounds like a good thing, but I surely dont want to hear of bad news just make me more cautious of whats going on around me. My heart goes out to his family and friends. So please, VR family and friends, ride safe out there and be more aware of the obsticles your about to face everytime you pull out of your driveway on your bike. I myself, enjoy reading posts on a daily basis from you. I really dont want to read a post about you.
