    motel bull

Now you know why I said to use "DRY" powder deorderant on your motorcycle..... :rotf: Truthfully, Ive never had this problem at a motel but did have the problem at a resturant in Solon Ohio. They would not wait on us because they thought we were a motorcycle gang..and wanted us out of thier establishment..
  3. Freebird, You might want to purchase an extra and tie it to your new lawn mower...
  4. Members should be required (at minimum) to list the "city" they actually live in so other VR members would know if that member lives close to ...or in...the same town as they do.. I send emails out to those VR members who have agreed to let me include them on my email list of breakfast Meet & eats..and I send out the breakfast notice letting them know where and when the breakfast meet & eat is.. If I was able to look up an Alabama VR member and see the "CITY" they actually live in and if it is close to the city we are having the breakfast M&E in... then I can send them an "invitation" to our breakfast, so that they feel welcome and to have that opportunity to meet up with some other VR members. It's a waste of my time to send out an invitation to someone who might live in Mobile to come to Huntsville for breakfast.. Example: Name: Eck Nace City: Al. State: Al duh......
  5. Here are those who are riding with me.. Eck = Huntsville Sojourner = Huntsville Big Al = Huntsvile Burgmon = Decatur And possibly two more may join us for the ride who are not VR members.... Ride safe...Looking forward to seeing you again!

    My Best Friend

Zill, This was posted back some time ago, and brought me comfort. It is being sent with the hopes of doing the same for you. Death is nothing at all, for I have only slipped away into the next room. What ever we were to each other, that we are still Call me by my old familiar name, speak to me in the easy way which you always used to. Laugh as we always laughed together. Play, Smile, Think of me, Pray for me. Let my name be the household word that it always was, let it be spoken without effort. Life means all that it ever meant, it is the same as it ever was, there is absolutely unbroken continuity. Why should I be out of your mind because I am out of your sight? I am but waiting for you, for an interval, somewhere very near, just around the corner. All is well, nothing is past, nothing is lost. One brief moment and all will be as it was before...Only better, infinitely happier and forever we will all be one together with Christ
  7. Well, With all the meet & eats, tech days, and rides that I organize, I would have to say............. #1 ...make things happen.. No quit playing around and go make your reservations for the Natchez Trace ride in April 08!!
  8. I have not heard of this... Write down your bike's vin number Call your local dealer, tell them you want "all recall info" on your bike Give them your vin# They can tell you every (or any) recall for your bike...!
  9. Elk City, Ok...to Huntsville, Al.........798 miles in 14.5 hrs A first gen chased me 800 miles then craped out. ha.ha.ha.ha.ha.ha.ha.ha!!!
  10. I too agree with many things stated by Kit.. I Do not like the word Low-Life in this petition Those who run over a motorcycle or directly or indirectly cause an accident, are not really low lifes. They are just like you and I, people with family and those who care for them and they care for others also.......they just as we do, make a mistake. They were not paying attention, talking on the Cell Phone, Day Dreaming, or like I have said before.....sometimes the mind fools the Brain.....you think you see, but you do not....... Accident happen all the time........to everyone....motorcycles, cars, trucks...... the ones who drive cars and talk on Cell Phones, and do other silly things.....have the right to do this. We have the right to ride a Motorcycle and stay alive also........ I think it was a combination of all factors.....a young kid who made some mistakes, and a rider who may have made some too.... defensive riding is a constant occupation this stuff happens, to all of us....... The girl who may have caused....and certainly contributed to this recent accident, with the loss of life , is no low life......just a child......one like so many of us hold dear ourselves....she made a mistake, we all do....... This 16yr old will live with this mistake for the rest of her life too! Respectfully..Kit Respectfully..Eck
  11. Thanks Jeff, When I can (like many others here) grasp what is before us, I too will post my feelings and try my best to provide some comfort to you and your family. Right now, I too am at a loss.... My heart and prayers are with all of you.
  12. Please forgive me here, but this is how I feel about a head light modulator.. I have paused from pulling out of a side road as a vehicle approached and MANY times, the driver would flash his "head lights" only trying to signal me that it is OK to pull out because he is onto the same road I am pulling out of.. In Garys case, the 16 yr old MAY......Just MAY..have thought that is exactly what Gary was doing ..."signalling" her..... that it was OK for her to pull out... I have never...and will never install a head light modulator for this reason. I have never felt it was the right thing to do by installing a head light modulator... I know many people have installed them and use then religiously... that is thier right.... but dont ever think I will install one for I feel they are very unsafe and always will be unsafe....
  13. She appears very content and quite interested in her suroundings. Beautiful little girl you have there !!
  14. Ah ha......your right...it was 1up's bike...And no biggie on the bad photo. I will take a couple next time I split my fairing, and place them in the tech section with a write up on what to watch for.. Thanks a bunch Thom
  15. [quote name= I FOUND THE PROBLEM. MINE IS A 2nd GEN AND IF YOU LOOK CLOSELY, RIGHT BETWEEN THE TRIPPLE TREE AND THE GAS TANK ,THERES A GROUPING OF WIRES THAT GETS CRIMPED (BY WHAT LOOKS LIKE A METAL STOP FOR THE HANDLE BARS)ANY TIME YOU TURN THE HANDLE BARS. Note to all 2nd gen owners. This is becoming a common problem on 2nd gens. I have fixed (2) 2nd gens with this same problem. Anytime you remove the light bar to remove the faring, there is a strong possibility of a wire being "pulled" down into this area and it is caused by the weoght of the light bar hanging down while working in the fairing area. Whenever you reinstall your light bar ALWAYS check for any wires that may have been pulled down into this area. When you turn the handlebar to the right...all the way right...the wires become pinched between the handle bar stop.. I had this same problem on my own 2nd gen, and I also fixed another 2nd gen at Vogel this summer..but forgot whos bike it was.. Next time I pull my fairing apart, I will take a couple photos of the wires in this area of the handle bar stop, and place the photos (and a write up) in the tech section for future refference.
  16. But, in Case of 2-up riding, maybe also with a Trailer, this Part reduces the maximum Power which can be applied. That could NOT be the Goal. Keep reading ...its adjustable for whatever desired pressure you want...
  17. Im speechless..........just speechless...
  18. Congrats AL...... Looks like it would be great on the city streets, state highways, and the tail of the dragon.....!!!
