  2. Makes me want to take mine off and sell them...........
  3. Its simple really. You can use "Goo-B-Gone", or I myself spray WD-40 onto a clean cotton cloth and wipe th eglue right off.. Niether on eharms the paint
  4. try here...... http://www.webbikeworld.com/lights/
  5. I would pursade them to let me perform a "repair attempt" so I could keep riding until the order replacement part does come in...
  6. I WOULD THINK THAT AUTO ZONE WOULD BE HAPPY TO ORDER THEM FOR YOU IF YOU ASK THEM TO....IN FACT MOST ANY AUTO PARTS SHOULD BE WILLING TO ORDER THEM FOR YOU...
  7. Another thought I has after reading your above posting is that you might be able to locate what you need at your local RV & Travel Trailer store.. I would think they have to sell trailer hitch wire harnesses and thier replacement parts..
  8. Most any auto parts store sells the plastic connector plugs.. (both male & female). You should be able to splice your wires (best to solder them) to the wires coming from the new connector plug ensuring you match them up correctly from one another. Is something wrong with the plug in the picture?
  9. Looks like a very neat idea you have there. A little dressup sanding, add a little paint and it will look almost like OME. A very cool idea !!!!!!!
  10. You might find a CD player to fit in that very small area, but I really doubt the CD player wowuld ever work right due to all the vibration... My opinion..You would be better off with an Ipod or MP3 player..
  11. OPs, my bad...... I was with understanding that they maNUFACTURED THEM THERE TOO.... Yamaha Motor Corporation, USA 6555 Katella Avenue Cypress, CA 90630 Sales, marketing and distribution of Motorcycles, ATVs, Snowmobiles and Race Kart Engines.

    Not a Fun Ride

When I first read your post, I thought you guys were on your bike... Now you know why I moved south.....cant stand the cold.. I remember the end of my sleeve being constantly wet from always drying my runny nose...
  13. You can also re-attach the emblems using car molding glue and can be found at any auto store and even Wally World. It comes in a small (or large) tube which ever you want, and you can apply it carefully in several places on the emblem, then align it on the tank. You could also have a piece or two of masking tape ready, to tape / hold the emblem in place until molding glue dries. Note: The molding glue is really not runny either..it is more like RTV sylicone..
  14. The bolts on a 2nd gen are 6mm (6) of them are 1.5 inches long (2) are two inches long (spacer) I was trying to get a dealer to offer a good price on the thumb screws two years ago, and he sent me mine as a sample to make sure they work. The price he wanted was way to high and the deal never worked out.... but I did get mine for nothing!!

  16. Its very unlikely that the gas in the tank is that bad, but it is a good possibility. Doubt if moisture set in the tank, (any thing is possible though), but you might want to try a can of sea foam carb cleaner (Auto zone carries it) and pour it in the gas tank, then top off the tank with some fresh gas. Run that tank out till you hit reserve, then fill it up again with fresh gas.. If the plugs you took out worked ok when you parked it then they should be ok now...Not sure if they are the stock plugs, and being you have an 05 (3 yrs old now) I would change the plugs out next time I planned to take off the gas tank...
  17. Well Condor, sorry I couldnt ride with you yesterday, but I did go for a ride and rode about 218 miles..Temp here was not near what yours was (60) but it was great riding weather. Wont be long and we will see many posts of folks talking about thier daily rides..

    What a week!

I'm lost for words Gary. You have had an experience I hope I never ever have to deal with, and found courage that I dont think I have. My prayers are with you and your family.
  19. Use a strong piece of fishing string and wedge it between tank and emblem.. Cover gas cap with wet wash rag to avoid any excess gas funes. Safety purposes only here..you dont really have to do this, but I would... then Heat the emblem with a hair dryer and work the fishing string back and forth in saw like motion and it will come off.. after emblem has been removed, spray libral amount of WD-40 onto a clean cotton cloth an rub any remaining glue off tank. Your ready now to apply new emblem.
  20. I do not recall a tech artilce that shows actual pictorial views or instructions of where (or how) to connect the actual driving light wiring to the bikes wiring..(color codes to connect to power, dim & to the on/off switch). I do not recall any photos or instruction in a tech artilce showing where or how to locate the on off switch either. I do not recall a tach article showing photos or instructions of what you need to do to install the chrome dome visor on the head light. If yuo do plan to do this yourself, you should review the tech article on "how to split the fairing" because this is the first step you will need to do to get to the bikes wiring and to disassemble the the head light to install the chrome head light visor.. The turn signal visors are simple. Remove the two phillip head screws from each plastic turn signal covers, align visors (do one light at a time), and re-install the plastic lens cover with the same two phillip screws. Note: Do not over tighten and break the plastic lens cover....
  21. Either way, your towing vehicle must be capable to pull whatever you choose.. Enclosed is best my opinion... you can not only protect your bike from road grime and stones, but you have enclosed quarters to carry your luggage and cooler too.... Oh and dont forget...your wife would have a bunch of availabe space to purchase all those new items she really needs at the house, while on your vacation to bring back with you
  22. Here is a fairly new single wheel trailer that HD came out with. It even comes with a cooler rack in the front and can be match painted to any motorcycle..
