Well welcome to a new world of joy my friend.. Yep that "NEW BIKE FEELING"....theres nothing like it.. Bad part about it is you may need to get another job... Lets see, if memory serves me right it's something like this: I got to add foot pegs $$ for comfort, back rest $$ for support, got to have this Chrome gadget $$ and I must have one of those chrome widgets $$. Honey, would you mind if I get this thing too$$. I really NEED to get this $$ so that I can, and I will also need $$ this to go with that. Oh and I really need one of those things I saw on this other bike$$ Honey, there is a bike rally next weekend do you mind if I go $$$ Its only for Friday and Saturday night, and the motel $$ but it comes with a free breakfast.. Gas$$ ......... Honey, I'm gonna have to replace my tires cause they are already worn down. Insurance due again$$$$$$ Yep, owning a NEW bike is grand....... Mine NEW bike is already 3 years old and I'm still buying chrome...$$$$

I'm with Condor on this one. That battery box doesnt really look all that bad at all. If you can remove it, you can have it sand blasted, or dip it in a plastic bucket with a solution of baking soda and water to remove the acid corrosion, or even wire brush it clean. Once it is cleaned you will see where your really at with it. Im sure that if you really needed a new bottom plate or side brace, you could have it welded..Then apply some new paint and reinstall it. I've seen worse ones in my younger vehicles that I repaired to keep them going for remaining life of the car..

Yep, mine did..... And truthfully, I didnt use it....... I placed masking tape in the areas that the four legs, or feet, of the rack where they would sit on the plastic trunk lid. I then centered the rack by eye, then measured from back rest to rack & side to side edges to ensure it was as centered as could be. Then using a pencil, I traced around the four legs on the tape. I removed the rack, then drilled the four mounting holes thru the tape and trunk lid. I used a drill bit that was just a hair bigger then the mounting screws on the front. On the two most aft holes I drilled them on a slight angle to match the angle of the two aft legs of the rack. Note: You can drill the two aft holes a little larger then the mounting screws to make up the difference in angle too. The rack comes with rubber and chrome washers, and the rubber ones cover the larger aft holes anyway.. There is nothing to it.. takes about 10 minutes to mount it.

Trunk rack is cheaply chromed...and it will rust in weld joints.. I have the same exact one on my bike, and it started rusting about a month after I recevied it.. I pay special attention to the weld areas when waxing and try to ensure I apply liberal amounts of wax in the joints..I even leave the wax in th ejoints and do not buff it off. good luck..

I think your going to have to split the fairing to get to the light modulator..(not sure) but buy splitting the fairing you would have visability to trace the head light wiring to see where previous owner installed it. Sounds like you may have left the key on in the acc position with the electrical device on that you were hooking up... A good battery charge should fix that. You can still ride it without the head light modulator, and when th ewether gets a little better I can ride mine out to Atlanta to see if I can help if you dont get it fixed by then. I cant get out there next weekend cause I am having that lunch meet & eat in Millbrook, and you were going to go to Datona Fl., I thought anyway. The modulator may just be a blown fuse since you were playing with wiring, you may have grounded one accidently and blew the fuse going to the modulator.. next question..where is the modulator fuse located...ha ...your guess is as good as mine...but it might be inside your front fairing..(in-line fuse).

I have asked local auto stores to get it for me and they have done it in the past. You could ask one of your local auto stores to get you a case (6 quarts come in a case = Aprox $48.00) I found a place down the road from where I work that sells it (MOBILE OIL.CO).. and that is where I get mine. You might also could do a search to see if there is a Mobile Oil Co close to where you live...

It's a shame to get stiffed like you did. It appears that the only smart buisness folks out there in this cruel world are the street smart hookers.. They get thier money up front ..before any services are rendered..
