  1. That is one of the GOOD sounds on this bike.. If you dont hear that sound, I promise you wont be going on a very far ride...
  2. use a leaf blower....when its dry...to blow off most of the wood dust. When taking a shower, place a bucket on the floor and catch the water in the bucket.. (you can do this to flush the comode too...) Place a bucket at the end of one of the rain gutters and catch rain water...??/
  3. Sleeperhawk, Just thought I'd let you know I have those two new lights hooked up on my cooler rack that I bought while riding with you Saturday... They look great too!
  4. Saw this on the news last night... definately a pretty dumb guy... Also last night on the local Huntsville news, the news folks were filming the police captain at the Huntsville police station out in the parking lot. While the cameras were running, captain being interviewed, in the background, some guy jumps in a car that is parked in the police parking lot and peels out steeling the car right in front of all these cops and news camera crew, and a cop car pulls out right behind the stolen car chasing him down the street.. They said they caught him a little while later..... really ballsy...or just related to the cell phone guy in the above post.. Oh, and last week, on the TV news, there was a guy who walked into the POLICE STATION and tried to rob them........

Thanks...we all needed that bit of humor.. Next thing you should do is send this story into a news paper like the NYT and get it out on print so the rest of the world can enjoy it.. Loved it bud...absolutely loved it..
  6. Ed, Here is one in our classifieds: http://www.venturerider.org/classifieds/showproduct.php/product/1060/cat/18
  7. George, Sure enjoyed meeting up with you and your family again for breakfast, and enjoyed the ride we had too. Looking forward to next time!
  8. Mike, I looked at your bike photos and didnt see this, but need to ask anyway... Did you by chance add any "fringe" to the brake and clutch levers since you bought it? I dont see any fringe on the levers in your photos but not sure if those are older photos. If you did add leather fringe, the wind will drag (pull) on the brake lever fringe and by doing so will also pull the lever back sometimes just enough to trigger the brake switch cutting off your cruise control. If you didnt add fringe, then I am not sure what it is..
  9. I'm having one made right now that is very simular. The guy should have it done when I get back from the Natchez Trace ride. I want to keep my rear mud flap on, so I want the hitch to go under the mud flap and then up into the reciever, where as if you had a mud flap on yours, the mud flap would be crimped or bent out of shape when ever install the hitch because yours is so close to the chrome fender edge trim... Same thing really but the part that goes up behind your fender (hidden part) will be longer on mine. Mine will also adapt my cooler carrier (or a future trailer...hush...)
  10. yep, and keep your eye on the stock market.....
  11. Hope these pics load up for you.. They may help with explaining what your looking for and where its located. Also, I think you have to lay on the ground and look upward from underneath the bike in the location as shown in the picture...
  12. There is a brake switch located on the right side of bike, way down low almost underneath and at the aft end of drivers right floor board you will find the rear brake light switch. Note that there is a little spring on the round plunger. The plunger sticks.. if the spring is not broken or missing (which it doesnt sound like yours is missing or broken), but just spray some WD-40 on the plastic plunger and let it soak down the shaft of the plunger.. by hand you can move the brake peddle to move the plunger and work the WD-40 in the switch. This should free it up. No adjustment should be nessisary. You can see the plastic lock nut on the switch against the bracket if you have to adjust the switch, loosen the locking nut and turn the switch housing in the bracket then tighten the locking nut when you have it adjusted where the light is off when brake peddle is released
  13. Kit, Sorry guy, but mine is an 05.......not a 99.. The 99 is a two tone silver I believe, where as the 05's are one solid color silver (called liquid silver).
  14. Sounds more like your valve stem was not snug or seated properly until you removed and replaced it........... the fluid might have helped but.......???
  15. You can get the glass fuel filter from any local auot store and ride today.......or..you can wait for J&P and miss out on a coule days riding. I relocated mine two years ago to the same place. I purcahsed the glass filter at the local auto store and I also got two replacement filters for inside the glass while I was there. Relocating it sure makes it easy to change out now.
  16. Here is how I did mine: http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=498
