  2. OK, HERE IS THE WAY IT WORKED OUT FOLKS: The list of names below MUST comply with the below email from Gene. You must fill in the address and email information, "as outlined below" and then copy and paste this info in an email to Gene. I sent Gene the below list of names so he knows who the 15 folks are. So make darn sure you include your VR.ORG name in your email to him...so he can match it up. Gene said he will give out "15" samples.. Here are the names of the first 15 who answered my original post. Congratulations guys! Please make sure you send a follow up email to Gene containing your "comments" after using his product.. 7. OK folks, here is Genes reply to my inquirey of some FREE samples for VR.Org... Looks like I need 9 more folks to sign up to provide a responce on the product after you use it. Anyone interested?? Eck, First thank you for posting about Raincoat. I think the product is going to be a great addition to our tankbags. Also, thank you for your thoughtful request. I am open to a selective group getting samples. I am looking for active riders that will apply the product and give me feedback on performance, packaging, the kit, and application instructions. Here is why I need to be selective. Due to postal regulations, Raincoat needs to be expensively packaged to be mailed. So each sample I send costs me about $3 not counting the product. (When I introduced Fogtech, I gave away samples but postage only cost me 41 cents.) So if you can figure out a way to get it to say 10 of the hardiest rain riders who will take the time to email their opinions, I will send three wipes to them. I am open to other ideas as getting Raincoat into the hands of riders is a great promotion. 8. I change mine every oil change.. I suggest you take off your saddle bag for ease of access. leaving it on the kick stand is fine. I place a small piece of cardboard between the tire and the rear hub where the drain cap is so the oil does not run onto my tire and rim..The cardboard is like a small "ramp" or funnel for the oil to run down into the oil catch pan. After cleaning and reinstalling the drain plug, I then fill mine "slowly" until oil begins to run out, then I insert my little finger down the threads pressing out the excess oil. This leaves the oil level at the bottom of the thread line which is where it is supposed to be. Install your filler cap and check tightness of both drain and filler caps, and your done!
  9. I bet you could wax the whole bike with that stuff....... I see they only give free samples to buisnesses.......isnt VR.Org a buisness??
  10. Heck, this place is just like work.. I'm never in the loop...everyone knew but me.. Didnt know you guys had a problem till now.. sorry.
  11. Is your radio on INC? Push your select button before playing with any wiring...make sure its not on AUX or INC Push your CB button, and change CB channels, and listen for sound.. if you have CB sound, then your radio is not on radio.. On your exhaust leak: is it leaking where it attaches to the engine or at the "Y" section? If its the "Y" section, then your covered under warrenty.. the weld broke
  12. Recomend the following: Lube your clutch and throttle cables Change your gear lube Greasing drive shaft and rear hub splines Checking the bolts on the side of the rear fender that holds the chrome frame covers and center trunk rack because they tend to come loose and fall out. Lube all moving parts of your shifter Lube all moving parts of your brake peddle Lube all moving parts of your kickstand. Check your steering bearing loosness and adjust if nessisary Check the center trunk lid catch rod on the left side... make sure the screws didnt fall out yet.. they too come loose..and while your in there make sure the center trunk mounting screws are tight..do not over tighten them though.. Take off your right rear side bag and pop off the plastic cover on your brake caliper and vissually check the inside pad for wear...it wears out really fast compared to the outer pad. If its worn, you can swap them around..take the outer one and put it on the inside and the inside one on the outside,,to get more life out of them.. Check the mounting screws and nuts that hold the chrome pieces on the aft ends of your front and rear fenders for they come loose and fall out. Check the bottom side of your rear shock for oil seeping out from around the rubber boot. Using your fingernail pull up on the rubber boot just a little bit, and make sure oil doesnt come out. If it does, it's leaking and is under warrenty. This should keep you busy for a while......
  13. Buddy, Sure glad your OK. Sorry about your bike.... Hope its not all that bad once you get the mud washed off to see how much damage you really have. If its not that bad and decide to fix it back up, check with me on available 2nd gen parts.....

    Congrats on your retirement ...
  15. Yep, it sure gets cold quick when your doing 50mph and dont have a windshield when its that cold. I dont even want to ride a bike with ot a windshield anymore. I remember two yrs ago, I rode to the SC M&E in Bishopville, and it was 25 degrees.. I wasnt 30 miles from my house on my way there and was asking myself what in Gods name am I doing out here on this thing..but I kept going.. and I froze my a.. off... But hey, it was 29 degrees on the return trip.. heat wave..
  16. Looks like you will need to add a couple riding foot pegs to the front axle to carry your tall butt in a comfortable position..while your siting on the rear edge of the seat.
  17. Sounds like you better spend time with your better half and not worry to much about us.. I mean heck, Squidley has us all in control here....... Welcome back
  18. Yep, Ol-Bill is a pretty good guy in my book too He likes his morning coffee too...I remember one time Bill let me ride in his truck to McDonalds for coffee one morning in Eureka Springs..It was raining too if I remember.. We had to have our coffee..
  19. I would mount two used floor boards,(one on each side of the trailer tonge) and set my cooler on the floor boards and strap it down..this takes care of the trailer problem. I would purchase the cooler rack of my choice that will attach to the reciever on the bike, and not worry if it would fit the trailer tonge because the floor boards are on the trailer.. You would only need to swap the cooler from bike to the trailer and not ever worry about swapping the whole cooler rack & hitch an wonder how to attach it..
  20. I remove the caliper and bracket too. The bracket, spacer and washer, I lay on the floor with the axle. The caliper I carefully twist it around and lay it very close to the rear floor board. I also install" just the axle" if I ever loosen the (4) bolts to the drive shaft housing. By installing just the axle, it is very simple to align everything. Then with just the axle installed, I tighten up the (4) bolts in a cris-cross patteren and final torque them per spec. Then I remove the axle and install the tire / rim and caliper bracket, spacer and washer. The caliper is the last thing I install (except for the right side bag).
  21. Sorry guy, I cant go to rallies where you have to be 18 to enter... Im like an ol-dog chasing a hub-cap.... once I caught one.......
