Slowrollwv - I will tell him you are interested in it as is and give him your phone number if that is OK with you. I will only give him your phone number IF he wants to sell it as is.. Jimmy99 - I have read several times how this bike is harder to work on than any other out there. Especially the carbs, and that is why I don't want to attempt to do it for him.. MiCarl - He was already given a price of $400 to fix the leak. (Not rebuilding the carbs, but to fix wherever the leak is "only".) Cowpuc - Thanks for the link. I am sending it to him now...I will also save it in my files....(you know..just in case I may need some help...) Thanks guys for the come back info!! You guys rock!!!!!!!!

Note: This is NOT my bike, but it belongs a neighbors bike and I am trying to help him. I told him I would post here and see if I could locate a local (Huntsville, Al. area), HONDA mechanic or if someone may know of a local mechanic. 1983 V45 Honda 750 magna. Problem: Fuel Leak - Fuel appears to be leaking from left carb. Fuel runs down main fuel inlet hose near the "T" joint. Owner is wanting to sell this beautiful low mileage 83 and he does not want to put a bunch of money into it. I forgot how many miles are on it but there wasn't very many at all. This bike has been sitting in his garage for a long time. It starts right up and I must say it sounds great, but it has this fuel leak. Anyone know a mechanic that can help out.

All I have is cons........... Every time it rains you loose the signal. When a nasty storm is approaching such as tornado activity in your area, and if it begins raining, the signal goes out and you have no way of watching the local news. I hated ours. Maybe they got better over the last 10 years, but many around us got rid of their dish.. Maybe the link below may provide you some answers.... http://dish-cable.com/cable-vs-satellite.htm

I was asked yesterday if I was going to remove the skeleton after Halloween...I said probably not.....I really enjoy seeing the smiles it brings to adults as well as the children. Only problem is I find it a little challenging to get into the rear trunk. I can not open it all the way, but I can get into it. There are bolts (with nuts) located on each HIP / Pelvic joint and I am going to have to loosen those bolts to where it moves freely so it will bend over when I want in the trunk.

I bought a pair of battery heated gloves...they were JUNK!!!!!!! A waste of good money. If you don't want cords get something like these. Ebay has a wide selection also... http://www.twistedthrottle.com/oxford-handlebar-muffs-for-motorcycles

I see bikes broke down all the time here in the south where they can ride many more months a year than some can, so for those of you who live and ride way up north I would have to agree with you since you can only ride a few months out of the year. (I was only replying to the same two type of bikes what Slowrollwv posted)

I reposted this for the newer members (since 2005) and for those older members who need another laugh. I figured I would post this again in hopes that: 1) - It saves you and or your motorcycle when loading it into an enclosed trailer. 2) –and that it leaves you with many laughs and smiles to learn from Take a journey with me on a personal adventure and learning experience. This incident took place on June 15, 2005 I bought a 6 x 10 enclosed trailer to haul my Venture in since my wife doesn’t ride much. After getting the trailer home and in the driveway I disconnected it from my truck. I opened the side access door and rear ramp door and my wife and I were admiring it and talking about some things we want to do to it to personalize it for our use. After staring at the “opening” of the rear ramp door, the “door opening height” did not appear to be high enough to drive my Venture through due to the height of the windshield on the bike. I took out a measuring tape (again) and measured both the bike height and the door opening height. Measurements showed the windshield is 1/2 inch to high, thus obstructing sufficient entry clearance. So….being the rocket scientist I am, I thought WTH…....just slowly pull the bike in to “see” if the windshield clears the door height opening. I get on my Venture, fire it up, and proceed slowly up the ramp door. Sure enough, IT CLEARS. (yea, I knew it would. Sure I did), in fact it cleared by about 2 inches due to the angle of the ramp door. Knowing it will fit, I proceed “slowly” pulling further into the trailer and I get to where my body is right in the doorway where I had to “duck” just a little to get my head and body in. Low and behold “THE RIDE BEGINS”!!!!!!!! The front of the trailer goes up in the air and the cabin/ floor of the trailer is now at about a 72 degree angle (and so is my bike with me on it) and the ramp door is flush with the ground. The top of the trailer doorway came down between my arms and inside of the windshield. There I am sitting with the top of the trailer door frame in my face, hands squeezing the clutch and front brakes. I use my thumb and hit the kill switch. It’s silent. OK, now what do I do? My mind is going a million miles a minute, thinking, I can’t back off the door because my windshield will hit the door frame and bust it off, and it will cause the front of the trailer to fall back to the ground and the bike and I will go really fast in an upward direction. I pause; can I control the trailer movement if I do this? Answer: heck no. Can I get off the bike? Again, answer is no. What will the weight shift difference do? All this is going through my mind and outside the trailer I hear my wife screaming, Are you OK, what can I do? Just tell me. I’m yelling back at her, Hell, I don’t know, let me think a minute. Yep, I’m stuck ..I’m in a real bind here. The door frame is between me and the windshield and it is slightly bending the windshield forward because the bike is edging backwards. I’m losing tire traction on the plywood.. I yell to my wife to get away from the trailer and stand in the garage. I flip the kill switch back to on and start the bike. I begin moving inward (and upward), I dick to get my body on the inside of the door frame, and then I remember. Ah hell, both antennas are up and I don’t want to break them off.. I shut the bike off, kickstand goes down, I wedge my foot on the floor behind the kickstand in an effort to stop it from sliding backwards. I slowly get off, holding on for dear life (weight shift worry again). Carefully reach back and lower both antennas. I get back on, and fire it up again.. The front of the trailer is still pointing due north. God and heaven are laughing at me now…I slowly edge inward and I get to that “balancing point”. The front of the trailer wants to come down, and yep, I am scared because I don’t want to damage the bike or the trailer. I can picture my bike going THRU the floor when the front slams down. The front of the trailer is moving downwards, no upwards, no downwards.. Pivot point maneuvering. Yea man, I am rocking now!!!!! Bravery kicks in, here goes, I tell myself just drive on in until the front of the bike is about to hit the front of the trailer and hit the brakes and HOPE the bike doesn’t go thru the floor.. I rev it up, let out the clutch and off I go…the front of the trailer SLAMS against the driveway pavement; I hit the kill switch and brakes. I’m stopped, it’s silent. It takes a moment to realize everything is very still. Kickstand slowly goes down, key off. I get out of the trailer and just stand there looking at my wife.. WOW that was one hell of a ride. Now, the pun of this lesson is: NEVER FORGET to lower the rear stabilizer jacks before you drive into or out of a trailer.. (or just attach it to the pulling vehicle first!!!!)

Slowrollwv, I thought that is what I implied. (Victory or Road master / Indian Dealers).

For $31,700 I could buy 3 Goldwings and all of them would be in top running condition / road worthy to cross the country.. I would then sell two of them to get my money back and still have a wing! If you plan on doing a lot of long distance riding, you should do a few intranet searches and see just how many Victory or Road master / Indian Dealers there are out there and see how far apart they really are. If you break down, your in a world of hurt.

Just got off the phone with my sister and her daughter (my niece). Appears I am going to be a great uncle...!!!!!!!!!!!!! 1st time ever.. My niece has not been able to get pregnant for 9 years... She started feeling sick the past few weeks in the mornings so her mom (my sister) told her that she feels she is pregnant. The niece goes to the drug store and bought 3 pregnancy test kits.. All three test results came back positive......... Shame on the mess... I told her it is about time she finally figured out how it happens............!!!!!!!

A couple weeks ago, I posted this: http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?110589-Check-out-my Well after I posted the above thread, a VR member (Zzyzx from CA.), saw my posting and he emailed me saying he was going to send me a relay that would make the red LED's that I installed in the skeletons eyes flash when I pushed the button. I received the relay a few days later (Thanks again ED!!!). I installed the relay and I then I tried to make the attached video so you could see how that relay works the LED eyes now. I have had about 6 people take pictures already of this thing.. Anyway the video didn't come out all that great but you can see the RED eyes flashing. Hope this works because it is the first video I ever attached to this site... Dang it, how does one post a video? Thanks to Puc, I got it posted!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey Don, I think you have a hidden compartment in the center counsel under the cup holder on that year model. Most of the earlier Avalanches had this from what I was told. They say you have to pop out the cup holder and under it, the inner part of the counsel is open to put extra stuff in it. Thought it would be worth checking it out anyway.

Well here is the verdict on my attempt to rebuild the carbs on an old Honda rebel. A model or bike that I have never owned, rode or worked on in my life. The neighbor stopped by on his Honda Rebel about three hours after I dropped it off at his house. He rode the bike up my driveway and shut it off in front of my garage. I was in the garage at the time and stepped out to greet him. He said: We have to talk...I said oh-el..He said I have owned this bike for several years and this bike has never started so fast. This bike has never run so quiet or so smoothe. I don't know what you did but this is a new bike to me. It runs faster then it ever has. Even my wife made comment on how quiet it is... I said well, I am glad you are happy with the results. He handed me some folded up bills and said: Here, this is less than half of what the dealer wanted to fix this bike. I never looked or counted the bills. He shook my hand and drove off down the road. About an hour later I pulled the bills out of my pocket. I told him $75 bucks for what I did. I counted the bills and he gave me $120 BUCKS.... I am a happy idiotic mechanic right now....cant believe he gave me that much over what I told him I would charge him.. He is one happy neighbor I must say..
