    Im here

Glad your enjoying your trip and maike your rounds safely. Let us know how the thong patroling goes...
  2. Problem was.... it is missing me in it......
  3. I carry extra rags for rain and I also carry an empty plastic coffee creamer container that I use to store any wet rags in when traveling for that reason... I also start my trip off by placing a wet mico cloth in the plastic container, so I can clean my windshield when I stop for gas..

    this was close

One time I passed a small pick up truck on a back road on my way to work one morning. As soon as I passed him, as I began to get back into the right lane, there was this huge buck standing in the middle of the road.. I was in my car....thank god..I braked hard, and so did the truck..he pulled into the left lane so as not to hit my butt... we stopped side by side...looking at the buck... I blew my horn but the buck only twitched. The other guy blew his horn, The buck twitched again..we both laid on our horns and the buck just stood there staring into our head lights..he was only about 40 feet from our vehicles.. Stupid me, I decided to go around him real slow..I pulled off onto the burm of the road and slowly started past him. The damn Buck lowered its head and by golly "CHARGED" at the side of my car... He hit it so hard I thought the car was going to flip over.. He landed on top of my hood on his side and was kicking like hell and his hoofs were grazing the windshield. I slammed on my brakes and he slid off, he stood up and took one leap over the ditch and colapsed.. He broke his neck when he rammed my car door... The truck driver and I picked him up and we threw him in the back of the pick up truck and that guy took him home to dress him... My car door was all caved in and rubbed the front fender from that day on... Dont ever pass a deer (or buck) on a motorcycle when it is just standing on the road.. I reccomend you turn around and make tracks.. cause they will charge you..

  12. Hey, Im fine...thanks for asking Randy.. As already said...micro burst flinging stuff in the air..one 5yr old was killed and 8 or 12 more hurt.. I live very close to the air port, and I was in the garage cleaning / waxing my bike when it began raining.. I didnt notice anything as far as a storm... just raining .. Then the rain stopped, and after I finished cleaning my bike up, I went inside and took a shower.. Later on, watching the news I saw where the storm hit the airport and the young boy was killed and the others were transported to the hospital..couldnt believe it.. http://www.cnn.com/2008/US/weather/06/30/severe.weather.ap/index.html
  13. Skid, I like the little pig on the wheel air stem.....I smiled as soon as I saw it...
  14. To answer your question...one hour and they should be done...however, while your at it, I would also have them grease the splines on the forward and aft ends of the drive shaft.. If your gonna get a lube job, you may as well do it all at the same time..
  15. Big Bob is most like exactly on the right track here ... You need to remove the rear wheel again, pull the drive shaft out and then using a flash light look up the drive shaft tube and make darn sure you didnt bust the yoke... It is best if you can get the yoke to move up and down (not side ways)... Once you get the yoke in this position, put your bike in gear to avoid the yoke from turning. Make sure molly lube is on the forward splines fo the drive shaft Take off the left battery side cover Look down in the area where the side cover was for a small rubber plug on the top side of the drive shaft housing. It is about the size of a nickle and it pop right out (dont loose it) Get a wire coat hanger and shape it into a letter "j" (hook) carefully slip th eend of the J downinto the hole and by "BRAIL" try to HOOK the drive shaft yoke. You may need someone to pull up on the yoke while your trying to slip the driveshaft up the shaft housing and into the yoke. once you get it into the yoke, you will nto be able to turn the drive shaft because the bike is in gear... To realign everything I prefer to install ONLY THE AXLE with out the tire / wheel and tighten the (4) acorn nuts and at the same time make sure you can pull the axle out by hand..it should be "free" if aligned properly. You do not need to install the spacer or caliper support arm when doing this, and no need for the axle nut either.. once axle is aligned, you can now reinstall the rear wheel. Make sure you can not spin the wheel because the bike should still be in gear.. if it does nto tuen, then you can go ahead and reinstall the axle / spacer, nut, caliper support arm, and tighten per spec. While up on the jack, put the bike in netural, fire it up and carefully while it is idleing, put it into gear. Let the clutch out slowly and the rear wheel should begin to rotate.. if it does,, your ready to ride... but please shut it off and take it off the jack first....or you wont go far..
  16. Snaggletooth, as I mentioned in my above post, contact this guy... I was told that this guy can make a key for any bike and is very reasonable and great service too. I have never delt with him (no need yet) but from what I have heard, he is a great guy and wants to help others . http://www.motorcyclekeys.com/
  17. looks like a normal bike lift but uses air or manual operation. How high does it pick your bike up from the floor?
  18. If you do get this figured out, please send the information to me as to how to wire it up like that. I to would like to do that too.. I would really appreciate it..thanks:thumbsup2:
  19. its covered under the warrenty... but my guess is you will have to split the fairing to find a loose connection in the wire harness plug for the radio. Many articles on the site about adding dilectric grease to those harness plugs. Page down to the bottom of this page and read all the posts on radio problems.. you wil get a better idea of what is or could be wrong... Being youhave an 07, I would suggest you let the dealer do it under the warrenty....at zero charge ... Once you learn more about your bike you may feel more confident in splitting the fairing..and knowing where and what to look for. If you want to do it by phone, let me know and I will walk you thru it.. just send me a p-email and I will send you my phone number. good luck
