Sounds like the battery to me...put a good slow over night charge on it and it should be fine.

I sent them the below email.. Greetings, Hi, my name is Eck Nace, and I live in Huntsville, Al. Now this may not mean much coming from someone way down here in the south, but my hat is off to you. I wanted to tell you how much I appreciate the customer service you provided to one of our members (Dave Williams). Dave belongs to VentureRider.org, and so do I. Dave posted on our web site how great you were in his time of need, in that you had taken a fuel pump off of the 08 that was on the showroom floor so he didn't have to wait for a new one from Yamaha.. Not sure this link will work for you, but hope it does so you can see the very kind words Dave has posted about you and your staff. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=24645 I commend you on your customer service and hope more folks drop by your place knowing they will leave with the same great experience. If I lived near you, I would drop in to personally shake your hand. Thank you Eck Nace

cool beans... Heck, now we know who can bring a carb tune and sync carbs at the VR meet & eats... Yep, got to be careful what you advertise around here.. It may become a full time job

You might try to find the name of the company that makes those type grips. Then call (or email) them and provide them with the "length" dimensions from your 1st gen grips and inside diameters, (dont forget inside diameter is different for throttle grip), and see if they make those type grips in the length and diameter required.

If you cant find one in a month, I'ld be willing to chip in a donation towards buying you one.

Glad you guys had a great 4th of July ride RSV Angel. We had a great ride also. Sleeperhawk and his mechanic came in from SC for the weekend, so I posted a ride, people showed up and off we went while Bobbie took a couple photos... We ended up at a BBQ joint, had some ribs and later went on our ways.. Glad you guys had a safe enjoyable ride

Dont blame you a bit my friend. I too would stay in the house, but I would have no choice because I have emphysema .. It's no fun not being able to breathe..... and have it 110 degrees on top of that, Oh yea, I would surely die..

I just have to throw in my 2 cents in... I would think that sure is a lot of weight for those 4 small bolts that hole the tubeular frame piece on.... Not so sure the original design was able to support the weight of the metal box, let alone what you just might put in it.. I wouldnt exceed 35 lbs on it myself.. Again, just my 2 cents worth..

WOW, now thats a strong statement my friend.. Not sure what to say to it either... My first gut feeling is I truely dont think anyone took it, but rather feel that it fell off and you most likely just didnt notice it right away. I mean lets take a walk in the past comments over the years here and we can see where many members have posted prior to this posting, that thier chrome fender trim screws and or nuts have been found loose or the trim fell off, and several other bolts or screws were found loose or missing. Mine came loose two weeks after I purchased it, but I found them luckily before it did fall off. I used blue loc-tight on the screws and it is still there and tight. I have lost three bolts already from vibration...and replaced all of them using loc-tight. I surely hope and trust your comment is incorrect.........man I hope so..

jkt69 Welcome to VR.Org I see your from Alabama too...we need all the Alabamians we can get on this site.. Not sure if your looking for a brand new 08..or ifyour just looking for a darn good deal on a used one. If your interested in good used ones please visit our classifieds: There are (9) bikes listed there (here is the link) http://www.venturerider.org/classifieds/showcat.php/cat/4 PS: I am from Huntsville, so if your coming to or near Huntsville, send me an email and maybe we can meet up for that favorite drink, or go for a ride some time. I could use your help in my search though. How much do Yamaha dealers usually come off of MSRP and what is a fair price? I know they list at around 17.5 range. Thanks for your help.

Ti-lo May I suggest you page down to the bottom of this page and read the many posts about handle bar risers to ensure you know and understand all the possible effects )if any) that they will have on your bike. You would not have known about the posts at the bottom of this page prior to your post, for they were not there.....

Carb Heater Cut-out Switch
Eck replied to V7Goose's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
Now that is pretty dang nifty there VGoose...I like it.. One small change I would do is ensure I used a water proof (sealed) switch.. This could even be a push button on/ off switch under a rubber boot. Excellent tech article. Oh, Guess what I'm going to do to my bike this weekend now.. thanks! -
Jeff, Food for thought.. Some local music stores carry small knobs that fit (for guitars), and some even come in CHROME....not a bad price either..
