I think Bobbie and George are the best photos you have..but then again, I think I need a pair of sun glasses......wow.. all joking aside, the painting of the fireman with the two angels on each side of him on the red HD fairing is the ultimate.. !!

Dont forget to include the "labor costs" you incurred in the assembly of it when settling with your insurance company....... I mean hell, I know I charged you $75.00 an hour...when I helped you assembly it..

Was the bike placed in an 'upright and level" position when you checked the oil level the FIRST time? Ops...bad question...Never mind.. I guess it was upright and level based on your comment that I missed: I checked the level today with the bike level again, and now the oil is full on the sight glass. All I can say is you had to have added to much...taking it time to drain downward to the bottom where the site glass is located...

Sorry if this is long winded: I suggest we have the 2009 International rally at the “Four Corners”, located in Durango, Co. ( Durango- located in Southwest Co.) http://www.durangoreservations.org/durango Durango Elevation - 6,512 feet above sea level. Climate : Daytime temps in the 70's and 80's, night time lows in the 40's. (summer) Population: Approximately 14,700 in Durango. National Forest - San Juan Mountain Range - San Juan Mountains A suggested ride: The San Juan Skyway The 236-mile loop called The San Juan Skyway is one of the most spectacular drives in the world and should be on your list of "must-dos" when you visit Durango. Starting from Durango, the drive goes up to Silverton, Ouray, and Ridgway then loops through Placerville, Telluride, Rico and Dolores before returning to Durango via Mancos and Mesa Verde. NOTE: We could schedule this ride in "parts" one day we ride from / to and stop to spend the night in a NEW place, then continue on the next day to another point or continue on to Durango… Silverton: For a small town (500 year-round residents), Silverton has plenty of charms. Completely surrounded by mountains. There used to be seven towns in San Juan County. Silverton is the only town still standing. Ouray: Ouray is an amazingly picturesque little town - its nickname is "Little Switzerland." Located in a mountain valley and surrounded by waterfalls, aspens and soaring peaks, Ouray is a great place to spend some time. You might want to try soaking in the numerous hot springs, eating at a gourmet restaurant, or window shopping if you're not in the mood for strenuous recreation. Ridgway: Ridgway lies just to the northwest in a valley that's reminiscent of the Animas Valley near Durango. Geologically they're very similar - red rock cliffs, a lovely river (the Uncompahgre) and similar elevations. The town of Ridgway itself is mellow, but the surrounding area is full of recreation possibilities. Telluride: Gold was struck in Telluride in 1858, putting Colorado on the map. Telluride is home to some of Colorado's best skiing in the winter and is a haven for some of the most exuberant concerts and festivals in the summertime. Almost every weekend year-round there is something big going on in this little town. Situated in a box canyon at the base of Telluride Ski Resort, Telluride is an Historic National Landmark with gorgeous views of the surrounding mountains and beautiful Victorian style houses and buildings. The Ute Indians were the first residents of Telluride. Setting up camp along the San Miguel River. PagosaSprings: Originally home of the Ute Indians, Pagosa Springs was named for its hot springs said to have healing qualities. Pagosa is an Indian word meaning "boiling water." Cortez / Mancos / Dolores: Where the canyonlands meet the mountains sit the towns of Dolores, Cortez and Mancos. Home to Mesa Verde National Park, this part of Southwest Colorado is rich in cultural and natural history. Other area attractions include the Anasazi Heritage Center, Crow Canyon Archeological Center, Photos: http://www.godurango.com/multimedia/photogallery.asp They are not new to bikers in town either: Main Avenue Between 7th & 8th - Main Avenue Between 6th & 7th

Sure glad you had a safe round trip guy..no break downs or anything makes a very memorial time.. Guess I have no need to hold on to any of these cold ones now. I can drink them all by myself..

My 2 cents....... The Hub" located in Marble Falls, Ar., which is in northern Arkansas looks like a neat place, but I think this would interfeer with the annual Eureka Springs rally...both being held in almost the same proximity.. Just my opinion, for what it's worth..

I worked with a guy up in Ohio years ago who owned a small airplane. Every oil change he would add one quart of tranny fluid to the engine oil. He did this religiously for years in his car and truck also.. In other words if his vehicle took 4 quarts of oil, he would only use three quarts of oil and then add one quart of tranny fluid..

Food for thought... I would check for "power" to / at the horns before I would go tweeking any screws.. just my 2 cents..

Pilot, Isn't that rib inside the "stop" for both pipes to stop at when installing the clamp? It appears like that inside rib was designed to be sandwiched between the two ends of the pipes being joined together. If you grind it off, how do you know how much of the pipe you have inside the clamp before you tighten it?

I personally dont feel the ATF will not harm anything. In fact, it will help lube the seals just as regular fork oil.. I would drain the forks of the ATF, and then just refil them with fork oil... I do not see how it could hurt anything....but I am willing to listen to someone school me with constructive evidence if Im wrong.

Could be the lack of grease on rear hub pins, the drive shaft splines, possible worn wheel bearing and or swing arm bearings...lots of options to place the blame on.. If you tear it down to check one you may as well check / grease them all..

One suggestion from one friend to another: Once you begin to take off on your "new Avon sneakers", do not think you know the bike, for it will handle totally different... I sugggest you carefully ride it down the street to a local "large empty paved parking lot" and then ride it by making figure 8's so you can see how it handles prior to hitting the road...
