you dont "burn" the placard with the hair dryer, you just heat it up little by little starting at one end only, remove the hair dryer (heat) and see if it pulls off. Once yuo start it loose at one end you work your way to the other end slowly applying a little heat, remove the heat, pull on the string, apply a little heat, and keep working your way slowly to the other end of the placard. Dont try heating the placard all up at once where it is super hot or you will possibly damage the paint..

LED's, my feeble attempts.

[quote=Schlepporello;244981 They would if the missus ever let me out at night. You can alway place a rubber band around the brake lever and then sit in the garage and stare at them .... -

For the record ...on this incident: I may have mis-led on my original post saying the police pulled them over. I meant to say, they pulled over ...in front and behind them.. The bike riders pulled themselves over in an effort to be safe in the pouring rain, as any smart bike rider would do...... The police cars just happen to come upon them and they decided to help provide more protection or a safer enviornment to them using thier cars and blue lights since it was raining so hard. An outstanding action by the police if you ask me.. I promise to protect and serve..... The police did NOT pull the bikers over..sorry if I mis-led anyone.

I used (4) heat lamps in my old single car garage up in Grove City, PA. when I lived there and it worked fine.. didnt make it super hot in there at all but comfortable enough to work in a long sleeved shirt with out a coat on .. Just make darn sure there is nothing around them that can catch on fire.... I didnt spend all day out there, but long enough to do two or three hour tasks....they work fine

Pick and everyone else, you can all relax.. I just called the Anniston Alabama State Highway Patrol, and she told me that there were no accidents involving 17 motorcycles anywhere in their area's.. She said they did pull over a large group of motorcycles because of the pouring rain and tried to protect them all with thier flashing lights so other dirvers would slow down to see them. This may have been what what seen by someone and the story grew from here.

My suggestion: Take her to Helen Ga, many shops resturants and things to do in town. Then take her to Dillard, Ga (about 35 mile east of Helen) so you can both eat at the Dillards house. After eating, ride north on hwy 441 to hwy 246, (go right on 246) and ride up to Highlands, Nc. Many stores and craft shops and things to see & do. Then take hwy 64 west out of Highlands and you will ride the best curves, the most soothing relaxing ride that is 100% under the trees in total shade through the forest. You can only ride about 35mph (or slower), because the sun does not hit the road to dry off the morning dew on the curves..the traffic does though..so it is safe to ride, jusr be careful.. There are 11 different water falls along this route and one of them you can pull under and let the water falls run out over you with out getting wet. Many folks here on the site have been there with me. Continue west on hwy 64 to the west side of Murphy, NC and pick up hwy 129 south and go past Vogel State Park and back to Hellen, Ga. You can also ride from Helen to Dahlonaga, Ga, Tallulah Falls, or New Switzerland which are all really nice places to visit. No matter what you decide or where you end up, in the cager or on the bike please ride / drive safe..!

HA..ANOTHER..1st Gen brake problem... OK, IF MEMORY SERVES ME RIGHT, THERE IS A BRAKE LIGHT SWITCH LOCATED ON THE RIGHT SIDE, UNDER THE PASSENGER FLOOR BOARD, REAR OF THE DRIVERS FLOOR BOARD UNDER THE BIKE. WHEN YOU APPLY THE BRAKE THE LINKAGE PULLS ON A "INNER PIN" IN THE SWITCH WHICH IS ATTACHED TO A RETURN SPRING THAT IS ALSO CONNECTED TO THE SWITCH. IF THE PIN DOES NOT MOVE, (COME OUT) THE SPRING WILL STRETCH, BUT YET THE BRAKE LIGHT WILL NOT COME ON. LOOK UNDER THE BIKE FOR THIS SWITCH ON THE RIGHT SIDE AS EXPLAINED. HAVE SOMEONE PUSH ON THE REAR BRAKE PEDDLE AND "YOU" WATCH TO SEE IF THE PIN COMES MOVES IN OR OUT OF THE SWITCH..OR IF THE SPRING ITSELF IS JUST "STRETCHING" IF THE PIN DOES NOT MOVE, LIBBERLY APPLY SOME WD-40 AND THEN, USING YOUR FINGERS / NEEDLE NOSE PLYERS, PULL OUT AND PUSH IN ON THE PIN THAT IS ATTACHED TO THE SWITCH/ SPRING.. THIS PIN MUST MOVE FREELY IN THE SWITCH TO WORK AND THE BRAKE LIGHT WILL COME ON IF THE FUSE IS NOT BLOWN.. THIS PIN IS KNOWN TO LOCK UP BECAUSE IT IS UNDER THE BIKE IN ALL THE DIRT AND MUCK THAT IS ON THE ROAD THAT YOU RIDE IN.. HOPE THIS HELPS YOU..
