  1. TODAY is the DAY....3pm
  2. Perhaps we need to take a stronger stand and just realize that ANY political thread is going to turn into a nasty debate and delete them immediately upon one of the moderators seeing the post. I strongly agree.... and will do.

  4. Hey everyone, how about joining me today to please do this with me. Strength comes in numbers. 12 noon... today....Sat- Sept 6th No matter what you are doing, lets all take a few seconds of silence together and ask the man upstairs to bless this family with health and recovery for all that has fallen on them and to lift this dark cloud from them once and for all........
  5. Thank you Tim L. and Mr. Venturerider #2 for keeping the spirit of our group spreading! Brandy:sun1: DITTO......what she said!!!!!!!!!
  6. All joking aside Sleeperhawk, I commend you and Bobbie on your offer. My heart deeply goes out those folks who may loose everything that they worked so hard for because of a hurricane, tornado, fire or an uncontrollable disaster.. My intention is the same as yours, which is to offer assistance and support in thier time of need .. not be be used, or taken advantage of, but to be leaned on if needed, without anything being owed in return. My hat is off to you both....... I am certain many on this site feel the same way and would be there if called upon.
  7. -- Yep, kind of stormy here in Huntsville. light drizzle right now.... Might have to take you up on your offer for about 4 months.....
  8. Points well taken!! A great reminder to all of us ...

  10. Jim, you have mail....... You also said: Looks like they changed the route from past years Fear not.. they try (say) this every year... The reason is, the business People in Florence want all the buisness that day not just a portion of it, so they ask the council every year to stop everyone from continuing on to waterloo...and have the ride end in Florence. Problem is... the indians didnt "stop" at Florence... and to say you rode the trail of tears.... you must go to the end..which by the way is in Okla... and besides, the hiway patrol every year always tells them, that the bikers have every right to ride on to Waterloo and they can not stop the bikers from doing so.. The Trail of Tears council has also reviewed / discussed many times the idea of going straight across Tennessee leaving Chatanooga and staying out of Alabama / Huntsville, Madison, Athens and Florence and going straight to Waterloo.. This too has never been done because the bikers know the route the indians were forced to walked and that is the route that they want to ride... the real trail of tears.. not some man made up route to accomodate buisness folks trying to cash in on the once a year ride..
  11. Skid, Excuse my ignorance on a 1st gen, but I'm trying to picture what you said to offer some suggestions. You said: For some reason my rear exhaust clamps will loosen up every now and then Im not sure if you mean the exhaust clamps that hold the mufflers on like a 2nd gen has? Do the rear clamps have "split lock washers" under the head of the bolts? I'm not sure if a 1st gen even uses lock washers on the exhaust clamps.. I dont know if a 1st gen has a bolt going thru a clamp with a nut on the other end:confused24:.. (Like a 2nd gen has) You could possibly use one these: (1) You could use what they call an "Internal Tooth Washer" under the head of the bolt. (2) You could use and "external tooth washer" under the head of the bolt (3) If it has a bolt with a nut on the other end, you could use a locking Kep-Nut A photo would help of what you have or are talking about , then I could do a search on what locking hardware we use on the rockets here and Im sure I can come up with something I know would never come loose (unless you wanted it too).
  12. Thanks for the good news in that he or no-one else as hurt. Tell him the VR.Org family says hi, and if there is any thing we can do to tell you so you can let us know. Please also tell him if he needs to store his house hold stuff in a storage facility near him until the roof / house is repaired, that I will offer to pay the storage fee for him (up to $50.00 a month for 6 months) to help him out.

  19. We just had our scheduled rocket launch cancelled. Cape Canaveral sent several technicians to Vandenburg, Calif., to help with this Thursdays scheduled rocket launch. The cape called all of them and told them they had to return to the cape to help get things tied down before Hanna arrives..which cancelled our launch in Vandenburg.... A Mile Stone date missed........ouch.....$$$
