Your radio is covered for ANY problems through Yamaha...Your bike has a 5 yr fender to fender warrenty. I would march back into that dealer and politely ask for the site manager, then ask the manager to go to his office in that you want 10 minutes of his time to discuss a problem you have in private. Once in his office, put himon the spot, and ask him to call his Yama district rep right then on the phone...and let YOU speak to the yamaha rep yourself.. Dont take no for an answer unless he gives you the phone number of his rep. Once he does, ask him if you can use HIS phone while he is there.. One way or the other, that radio IS covered for any problems you have. He can place that call or he can call another rep.... I know because that is what I did.. Once I spoke with the yama rep about my problem, he said let me hand me back to the manager so i can speak with him..I walked out a satisfied customer as far as my problem went, but I told the site manager that HE should have placed that call himself with out me asking him to do his dang job.. and that I will never be back.. I read thier info and it states: Shop with confidence; Everything we sell is 100% new & includes manufactures warrenty. I would make sure though that the, Preloaded City Navigator® NT for North America or Europe (full coverage) is the 2009 version... The below listed items are standard issue with the Zummo 550: MapSource® City Navigator North America NT DVD or City Navigator Europe NT DVD (full unlock)* Motorcycle mount with mounting hardware Vehicle suction cup mount with integrated speaker Dashboard disk Vehicle power cable Motorcycle power cable USB cable Security screwdriver Custom caps (silver and black) Garmin stickers Owner's manual on disk Quick reference guide One other thing I noticed though is at the very bottom of the page. tire direction has to do with the manufacturing process. The tread rubber is initially a flat strip that's cut to length, at an angle, and then spliced together with the two ends overlapping, creating a hoop. Under acceleration, a tire mounted backwards will try to peel back this splice. If memory serves me right, you posted a while back that you had developed a wobble. I think it was you anyway..but maybe I am wrong. After getting your tires mounted in the correct direction, and correct air pressure, if the wobble does not go away, then I would look at other reasons like maybe a loose goose neck bearing..

Splitting the 2nd gen faring - what are my opportunties?

Suggest you might want to consider visiting this tech article posting and perform this little maintenance trick while in there too.. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=20293 -
Lou, Sure glad to hear you both are ok, and only need a little healing time. The bike can be fixed by the looks of it. I have Avons on my bike and my rear tire has 17,500 miles on it right now. As I was cleaning it last weekend, I noticed that there was white cords showing in two places so I order new avons Monday and they arrived last night at my door.. Two days from Calif...not bad service at all... Avons (in my opinion) are fantastic tires and dont just blow out because of pour manufacturing methods or processes and the quality of the tires are great. I feel when Avons just "let go" is more due to inattention to detail on the drivers part. As you said, you thought about the front tire, but not about the Avon.. 20k on any bike tire is pushing it in my book, but hey, this is my opinion and not everyone will agree...so be it.. Anyway, with 17,500k on my tires, I noticed over the last couple weeks my bike just didnt feel right ...didnt handle like I thought it should and was blaming it on the road surface...Now that I really got down there and carefully looked at the rear tire by slowly turning it and taking a lot of time to look at "all" the wear bars, I noticed hell, there wernt any left.........the rear tire is really bald in the center, but has lots of deep groves on the sides... The front tire looks like it still has 2 to 3 k left on it, but I am replaceing it tonight along with the new rear tire.. I am not playing around when it comes to tires on the bike... it is not worth the pain & suffering, medical expences, or down time not being able to ride.. Again though, excuse my opinions please and I am sure happy you both are really ok..

Sounds to me like the carb floats were stuck...Many posts have been on the site about this and appears everyone trys a can of seafoam ($12.00) and can be purchased at any auto dealer.. you pour a can of sea foam into gas tank and fill it up with gas and ride it.. The seafoam cleans everything out..no further cleaning or adjustments are nessisary.. You can also page down to the bottom of this page and read other posts about seafoam.. My bike is an 05 RSV and I never shut the fuel petcock off...it is always left open. I do "move it" to the off position once in a while to ensure it is still able to move and shut the fuel off if I needed to..
