  1. Yep, very nice...I enjoyed them too...A couple fit my additude...especially the last one:thumbsup2:
  2. free manual info here.. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=91
  3. many pros & cons and personal opinions on this subject... my 2 cents: I had it put in my new bike tires three weeks ago (free for trying it out of course)...and I personally do not notice one ioda of a difference. Yes the bike handles like a new bike but dont they all when you put new tires on them...?? I feel its $$$ making scam based on the assumsion that “nitrogen filled tires don’t loose pressure as fast as air and nitrogen doesn’t oxidize the inside of the tire as fast.” isnt AIR already 78% nitrogen??? The atmosphere begins at sea level, and its first layer, the troposphere, extends from 8 to 16 km (5 and 10 mi) from Earth’s surface. The air in the troposphere consists of the following proportions of gases: 78 percent nitrogen, 21 percent oxygen, 0.9 percent argon, 0.03 percent carbon dioxide, and the remaining 0.07 percent is a mixture of hydrogen, water, ozone, neon, helium, krypton, xenon, and other trace components. So...for $7.00 per bike tire to get 22% more pure nitrogen added to what is already in the tire I think is very expenssive..and I personally do not believe that one would be able to tell any difference in handling.. Oh, here is where I read up on nitrogen filled tires when I got it put in my tires: http://ahotcupofjoe.wordpress.com/2008/07/05/nitrogen-filled-tires-a-scam/
  4. Mine is up on the jack getting a bath almost after every ride, and while I am cleaning the white walls, I find it very easy to visually check the tires for nicks and or road debris punctures and check the air pressure while it is up in the air on the jack and convienent to get to..but Im not normal either as they say.... I do not check the tires before every ride....short or long...because when I return home either that same night or the next day it is up on the jack getting a quick bath..and ready for the next ride..
  5. Heck, you havent worn the brakes out yet ..... My 05 just turned over 60k this past saturday, and I expect it to turn over 100k within the next 3 to 4 years..
  6. We need to watch out for that snarley Bill character...He might try to join up again under another name soon...
  7. Thanks for the great pics Bobby. Yep, yep, yep... The blue one was pretty nice, all the Black cherries were pretty nice, the midnight was pretty nice also, but the liquid silver looked the best.... Yea, we can brag all we want to guys but did you notice that 1st gen that was requested to pull up front so that everyone could gather around it for the group photo shoot...now thats a pretty nice bike! (Ops, sorry Redneck, ..I can see your eyebrow twitching.)
  8. Sorry guy, but I surely cant help you on this one... It done take me long to know when something is out side my knowledge limits.. But since you have the Yama part number, cant you order it from Yamaha?
  9. Ah...wait a minute .....I resemble that... I have not experienced any problems with the system here on my end....???
  10. I have had the itch every once in a while to buy one, but then I look at my watch and say nah...... I have always like them and like to hear the different sounds they make.
  11. I have never bought, or sold anything on E-Bay. I do not feel confident in it beacuse of all the problems I have heard over the last couple years...but hey.,,this is me.. I have also heard other folks use it and never have a problem..
  12. You just have bad gas in the tank from it sitting for the four months... Just get on it and ride until gas tank is half empty then fill it up with fresh gas... keep riding it and it and it will clear up...nothing to worry about. Heck, I wouldnt even use sea foam in it... its just that the gas lost its igniting punch... run it out and just continue to ride on..
  13. Words of advice on heated gloves or socks.. DO NOT waste your time or money on the heated gloves that use a "C" size battery in the wrist.....or the heated socks that uses a "C" size battery in the elastic portion at the top of the socks... Both are "PURE JUNK" "waste of time and a "WASTE OF MONEY"... From what you spend on useless, worthless, cheap junk gloves, and socks, you could have bought a complete heated outfit... and dont bother asking me how I know...........:buttkick::buttkick::buttkick::buttkick::buttkick::buttkick:
  14. Thanks Alex.......... & Thanks Freebird...
  15. Ruff, Congrats on the new name change.. Yours I would think would be easy enough to change as you did...but I just gotta ask... How does one go about changing the name ECK..??
  16. Tom, I personally will never buy another chrome part from JC Whitney... Every piece that I ever bought from the showed signs of rust with in a year, but hey that is me and others may have bought stuff and been very happy. Here is a web site that carries everything and anything you will ever need for a bike and it is in alphabetical order.. Open the link and in your case, page down (looking in middle colum) until you find "levers" .. several type and brands are available..just click on one of the page numbers and your off on a search for the choice of what your looking for. http://www.cycleshopusa.com/tuckerrocky/st0207c/st0207c1.htm or for a quick choice: http://www.cyclewareables.com/pages/chrome_control_levers_street/chrome_street_levers.htm http://www.meancycles.com/Home.asp?AccCategoryID=2282&AccCategoryTypeID=0&BikeModelID=0&BikeType=Cruiser&CompanyID=0&ManufacturerID=1362&PartID=197245
  17. 15 degrees...rode from Huntsville Al to Bishopville, Sc for a BBQ lunch meet & eat... (talk about being dumb...I mean dedicated...) after we ate we went on a group ride and we all stopped for ice cream, then wingman and I made a mad dash for home at 19 degrees... PS: I will NOT do that again..................
  18. QUOTE: After a while he got to noticing that the axles were bent slightly. He started checking them when they come in for first go around and noticed that alot of them were not torgued correctly. Yamaha did not give a correct torgue specification for the rear axle and this was causing the axle to get bent slightly I notice you have an 08 ...I have an 05....and I looked back to 1999 and the rear axle torque has been called out in the manual since 99. Rear axle torque is 110 ft lbs It is in my opinion only here....that it would take one hell of a thump to bend the rear axle on this thing..meaning... the suspension would have to bottom out to where the rear shock would have no more capability of colapsing (completely contracted) where there is NO suspension what so ever..then with this being the case, all the "load carrying" compressive strength would now be directed "upward" or away from the impacting point. With the suspension totally colapsed, the rear shock would not / could not permit the swing arm to move in an upward direction and it would now mean the relevant maximum load is at its shear point on "something"...(something has to give). Possible "giveing points" of failure: The swing arm would either bend ..or the axle holes in it where the axle goes through it would rupture (break off at the weakest point), or the top and or bottom shock mounting areas would bend, or the aluminum rim itself would colapse (bust inward), or the motorcycle itself will move in the opposite direction from the impact. Something is going to fail / give ... I would think, (or guess) that one of these failures would occur WAY BEFORE the rear axle would ..or could ..bend.
  19. I never re-installed the stock weights when I put my Kuryakyn grips on and never ever noticed any difference. But that is me....you might. You can purchase the Kuryakyn palm rest pad and install it on just prior to installing the decorative end cap using the longer chrome screws that come with it. Now you have something to rest your hand on when in cruise mode. I installed one on each grip to keep it symetrical in appearance. I have never noticed any difference with out the stock weight myself.
  20. Yep, that was sure something to watch....yep, u-huh..really nice.. I really liked the part where, you know ah, well, never mind you figure it out.
  21. Yep, same here.. Take it back for warrenty rework. Gosh FLB... we are good........!
