  1. I use a $5.00 Wal-Mart bicycle water bottle holder... It is water proof, wont rust, and is adjustable.. See pics attached
  2. Gene, Sorry I did not call you back yesterday after our breakfast M&E like I said I would. I ended up going over to DaveCB's house and helping him install rear lighting on his bike, and forgot all about returning your call.. Continuing our conversation.....I do not see a problem at all with the bike being in the trailer on an angle as long as the front wheel is in a wheel chock of some type where it can not turn when brakes are applied or when rounding sharp curves. When I hauled my bike, I also had two "emergency" tie-down straps that were attached to the ceiling frame and to the handle bars. These tie downs were not pulled real taunt..because the bike suspension will give a little when hauling the bike and you do not want to rip your handle bars off when you hit a big speed bump.... but I had these "just in case" the bike did try to **** sideways, these straps would "hold it upright"..I never needed them luckily..but they were there in case.. I'm not sure how the tracking system was installed on the plywood flooring in that trailer, but hopefully they use something underneath the flooring when securing the mounting hardware so that the plywood does not give way and a mounting bolt can not be pulled up through the wood floor from excess strain like slamming on brakes.. I installed non slip vinyl flooring in mine.. Made it easy to sweep and mop clean when camping....
  3. You are on to the same train of thought I have.... I want to install some type of fix now...not wait till I break down... Your idea appears to be very well thought out, and as I sit here and review your drawing, I see no reason why it would not work. Hopefully others will jump in and review your drawing for any possible problems.. I want a fix of some type. I want to tear apart a stock ignition switch to see if I can come up with a simple mod for everyone, and your basically doing the same thing. Cool beans.!! we need more brains working this issue since Yamaha wont.. In my fix, I would rather have another "key type switch" in place of a simple toggle switch though...I do not mean another ignition switch, but a smaller type switch (that is hidden some place) that takes a key to turn it on and off..
  4. Here is a place where you can get a replacement key... http://www.motorcyclekeys.com/
  5. Check here too.. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=15244 You just might find something you need on this list. Please note: Some parts listed are for 1st gen and some are for 2nd gen, but all are identified as to which gen they are for. Just send me a "P-Email" and let me know if you find a part you need from this list and include your mailing address and I will mail it to you.

  8. I have a friend who rides with me who has a road glide, and if I ever went to buy a Harley, I would buy a road glide.. He and I put many a mile on together and his road glide runs like a top, his stereo sounds great, and there is somehting about the way it looks going down the highwayt at 70 mph that catches my eye.. He has not had one problem with is since he bought it two years ago, and he runs the tar out of it.. Yep, if I ever decided to switch to Hrley, it would be a road glide... but I love my liquid silver as I just about have it fixed up now where I want it..
  9. Heck yea....this sure would be nice if one of you wizzards could figure it out.. Then you could figure out how to down load all the tech articles to a SD card.....and we could carry the tech articles with us as we ride too... I have every 2nd gen tech article printed out and I carry them in a minilla folder on my bike now, but it sure would be nice to have them on a SD card... The loaded SD cards could be used to make nice door prizes or gifts at our rallies......

  11. Yep, I agree with V7Goose on this one.. It is a normal process for the dealer to tell you they have to tear into it it to see what the cause is. After they establish what the noise is they then try to determine the root cause of the failure and meanwhile Yamaha leads them step by step on what they can and can not do so that they can keep track of every step of the repair and begin the preventive / corrective cycle for future manufacturing awareness.. I would not worry about it at all..it is covered under warrenty. and if you take it to the place that did all your scheduled oil changes.. our in for a cost free repair...just ask them for a "loaner" to ride until you can get yours back.. They may not give you a "loaner" until they figure out the cause, but hey... you should not loose riding time because of an engine failure that is covered under warrenty...
  12. They look good Ponch.... where did you get your WW's at?
  13. a set of golf clubs in a golf bag, a cooler and two new Avon tires are the only 3 things I ever hauled on my bike..

  15. Congrats Lewis, he looks just about like you..........
  16. I do not think the cables will be long enough and I truely feel you will have interferrence with the cassette door... I would also think you would have the possibility of the bottom (base) hitting the plastic ignition / gas tank cover when turning the handle bars all the way in one direction or the other.. I would like to know how it turns out if you do get it installed..please let me know.

    Thank you all

  18. You might want to stop by your local bicycle store, or golf cart shop and check out thier mirrors.......
  19. Your right on there Redneck I am at work right now, but I know of one I have that I took it off my 05 Silverado when I installed the driving lights, and the bar is the same as the one on the RSV and has the rubber ends on it. I just checked the free parts list (link attached below) and there is not a turn signal light bar listed..but I do have the one from my 05 silverado. You can check on this link for any other parts you may need: http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=15244
  20. I think the link you provided is undergoing some maintenance right now... This UsedEverywhere.com site is currently undergoing maintenance. If you have reached the site at 4am Central Time (US/Central) then the maintenance is expected to complete at around 5:20am. Otherwise the maintenance is unscheduled and we suggest trying back every 15 minutes. Thank you for your patience!
  21. Just a thought not knowing exactly how bad it is bent or out of alignment... Maybe you could use your small sissor jack from your car, and piece of a 2x4... You can place the jack & piece of 2/4 between your tire and frame and then you can slowly screw out the jack and "control" the pressure and distance that you push the frame out..???? A phot speeks a thousand words..maybe post a pic or two of the bent frame so I (or we) can see how it is bent, and what direction it needs to be adjusted... ..then maybe we can come up wiht an idea or two that may help you.
  22. It's a "loose nut" between the seat and handlebar... Hope you get it figured out bud..let me know what yuo did to fix it so I can put your fix in my "fix it" data bank...
