  1. I noticed something after I watched the movie peg that I did not realize the first time I watched it. The attached photos of the mufflers are different in shape than the mufflers in the movie peg. The mufflers in the photos have an "elongated / oval" aft end and the V&Hines mufflers in the movie page are round / slanted. I'm not sure if the difference in "shape" will make a difference in sound.
  2. Be careful on that first ride of the year. Many cagers up there arent ready for or even thinking of motorcycles being on the road yet this year.. Enjoy!!!!!!!!!!

    Biker Down

So sorry to hear the loss of your friend. Our thoughts are with you and his family.
  4. Cool Beans.......I mean mufflers......... I would like to see a pic or two (from the rear) with them installed on your bike. I would like to see (in comparison), the width of the mufflers v/s the width of the side bags.

    Car Fan Belts

Have not had problems with belts squeaking. Just some quick thoughts here. Check to see if: The belt auto-tentioner (adjuster) is working properly. Auto belt pulley bearings worn / dragging? The alternator, a/c, water pump, or pwr steering pulley bearings are not worn or dragging. Are all pulleys are in proper alignment? Maybe it is the brand" of belt your buying..could be a cheaper type where it is not as flexible, meaning more plastic properties then being rubber in the texture.
  7. Hey Pegscraper, your as bad as I am reading posts... Don said: so I picked up a set of 1 1/2" Sunpro gauges today at Advance Auto Parts. Maybe I'll get around to installing them over the weekend, we'll see. These were $29.99.

  10. Greetings Ed, Good for you on your first post. We certainly hope it is not your last, so go grab that favorite drink and jump in anytime. As for gas mileage on a 1st gen, I really cant help you since I do not own one. Some folks here would say they can go a whole year on a gas tank full on a 1st gen. That's because it couldn't leave the garage and it all evaporated.. Others however would tend to say around 38 to 45 MPG maybe even a little more. You can page down to the bottom of this PAGE, and you will see other posts about fuel mileage Maybe the info your looking for is there. I'm sure someone will jump in soon, so be patient for a reply. All 1st gens and their owners are a little slow ya know.. .
  11. This caught my eye: Guess there goes any chance of doing away with the tape deck, having FI and an 1800cc. 2009 sales decreases are projected in all model categories, with total Japanese domestic motorcycle demand expected to drop to 498,000 units, down 12.6% from 2008.
  12. Dont know about you, but I didnt think it would be this hard to auction something off..and yet we both are offering to pay for shipping the item (in the USA)..
  13. Two things come to mind if your going to install yours in the chrome gas tank housing that you may want to think of if you havent already. First being weather, rain or just plain washing your bike. WIll water get into the switch? 2nd though is removing the chrome piece. You may want to install a mini quick disconnect in the wires. I found a very nice small quick disconnect at the local "remote toy" store.. I used the chrome end of an ink pen, and carefullly drilled it out a little larger and installed a switch inside it. I ten atached this chrome ink pen tip to the rear side of my clutch housing so I can use my finger to touch the switch when I need it with out removing my hands from the handle bars. I then ran wires from this switch to the quick disconnect, and on to the mini garage door remote which is between my aft fairing and left front shock tube held on by velcro. Been there for three years now and only replaced the battery once.. If / when the battery ever goes bad in the remote, I can very easily "quick disconnect" it and remove it to the bench to replace the battery.. I liked this location for the garage door switch better because I do not have to remove my hands from the handle bars and look else where to operate it.

Contact Roadkill here on the site. He has one attached to his driving light bracket. (I think that is where it is attached), Not sure what kind or type he has but I have seen it and gave him a couple heavy duty ty-wraps one time to help hold it on.
