Eck replied to CharcoalRSTD's topic in Royal Star and Royal Star Tour Deluxe Tech Talk
Zach, Hang in there. Im certain someone will jump in here shortly. If I lived a little closer, I would be happy to help, but I cant take 3 days off to get there and back.. -
If I read your posting correctly, your looking for a replacement headlight lens, not a replacement bulb. If so this is where I purchased mine. Coolbulbs.com 12705 South Van Ness Ave. Hawthorne, CA 90250 To contact them by e-mail, for technical and sales inquiries: sales@coolbulbs.com This is what I did for a glass lens replacement, in place of purchasing Yamaha's expensive assembly. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=498

Eck replied to jryan's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
I really like the chrome ones myself, but as already stated, yes they do scratch easily..but mine lasts about two years and then I replace it.. Would sure like to find a metal one.. -
Mashley, I just might be interested in this event. Not sure if I will be able to make it, but if it looks like I can , I will send you and email "prior to" to event and maybe we can hook up some place down there. I will let you know next week sometime...

I can see me now... after getting all hooked up and ready to go for a ride, I turn on the switch and hear the water start flowing, next thing you know, I'm peeling everything back off to go pee..... Like Sling said: Looks like the guy is on life support!.....But it does look like it would keep you cool

IF this is the first time you tried to start your bike since you put the pigtail on for the BatteryMinder a couple of weeks ago ........then I would have to revist those connections.. Sounds like the battery, but just wondering if you dont have a short in the BatteryMinder cable which may have shorted your battery out. The cable itself "could be" bad..

V7goose and brother ride around the texas border, read this
Eck replied to 5bikes's topic in Watering Hole
I really dont enjoy reading posts like this. Its like my adreniline immediately beings to run as I quickly try to read the post wondering if the rider(s) are OK or not. I like skip line after line as my eyes are scanning it so fast and cant wait to find the part where it tells how he,she, they are. In this case, Im very happy with the ending. Happy Tom is ok and that he is fine, and that everyone else is fine. As I read posts like this, I really dont give a thought about the persons bike until after I know how the people involved turned out. Once I discover how they are, then my thoughts turn to the bike and I find myself trying to picture all the damage that occurred to it. Then my heart and thoughts go back to the person(s) involved and I get this deep strong sad feeling knowing at that moment I am sharing the same feeling they are having and truely understand the loss of something they had so much pride in. Happy it all turned out ok guys..sorry about the hassles you had along the way, but this news could have been a lot worse by the sounds of it. -
Years ago, when I lived east of Cleveland Ohio, we used to go to Chardon, Ohio to their annual maple festival down on the square of town. As of last year, (when I went to Freebird's MD), I rode through Chardon again for old times sake, and the small log cabin still remains on the edge of the square where they boiled the tree sap and made the best natural Maple syrup I have ever tasted. They made maple syrup and all types of maple candy. Women and men of different church groups were all cooking up thier home made recipes of pancakes and the square was just full of people eating and having a blast. I remember as we rode in and out of Chardon, maple trees lined the highways and side roads and all the maple trees had buckets and pails hanging collecting fresh sap. Hey, that stuff is sticky .......and was heck getting off your clothes..

James, It sounds like the CC switch is binding (or broken) pending on if it worked just prior to you taking the switch housing apart to change grips. Does it move at all ? Does the aluminum housing appear to be snapped together correctly where you did NOT have to force the screws to be tight? Do you see a gap anywhere around the seam where the two pieces snap together. It's been a while since I have had mine apart and I don't remember of the throttle cable could get in the way and the switch is binding on the throttle cable. I would have to take mine apart to check it out and I cant do that right now for you. Is the black switch properly located in the hole or opening of the aluminum housing where it is not binding or "catawampus" in the opening.. (like that word do ya..? ).

I used the chrome end of an ink pen, and opened the end hole just a tad bit larger, then I wired up and installed a push button switch inside it. Then I ran the wires down the left handle bar to the garage door opener switch that is located between the rear fairing and the front left fork tube and is held on with Velcro. I also installed a mini quick disconnect in the wires so that when the batteries go bad in the garage door opener, I can easily unplug it and take it to the bench to replace the batteries. Here is a photo of where mine is located. Note: I do not remove my left hand from the handle bar to open my garage door. Look for the small "red" tip on the forward side of the head light switch housing in the photo.

FLB, I fully understand that, and that is why I mentioned what I did about the different shape. The same sound he wants may NOT be achieved due to the difference in shape is all I am saying my friend.
