  1. Ted, You got to watch that Sleeperhawk family.. before you know it they will be giving you the shirts off thier backs...well, his mechanic may not with out having something to cover up with first....... Great folks they are.........
  2. Now that looks like a really neat place to have a lunch. A very relaxing porch with a nice view ... heck I could end up likeing that now.
  3. Remove the gas tank Remove the two forward engine dog bones under the forward side of the gas tank Now you can get to the front ones. The rear ones I removed the drivers seat and made sure I had all the access room I needed.
  4. Jeff, Looks like we will have to share a cold one at MD. Maybe a couple.. If you two need anything just lest us know. Oh and take your height measurement now and then again when you return.. Most when they return are much shorter..they spend so much time pulling their head in like a turtle their neck becomes shorter...but where your going should be a lot safer ....than being on the front lines.

  8. Take an extension cord and two nails with you (and your hot dogs) Cut the outlet off the extension cord..trim back the insulation on both wires..wrap one nail with one wire and the other nail with the other wire, push one nail in one end of the hot dog and the other nail in the other hot dog end.. set the hot dog in a paper plate or on a paper towel...find an outlet with 110 v and plug in the cord.... Note: you can do this in the dark so you dont get caught by the boy scouts.. You will imediately hear the hot dog cooking..they get hot and cook really fast..better have that bun ready..and make darn sure you unplug the cord before you grab that cooked hot dog ..... works like a charm... I was in troup 99 in Newbury Ohio in early 60's.. made troop leader and came close to being an eagle scout, but gave up.
  9. FYI..... Wal Mart sells them for $15.00 and they fit the Venture fine once the antennas are put down..and it comes with a rope pull carry bag. Make sure you get the XXL cover (mine was two tone silver)
  10. Amazing... I looked at all sixteen photos and only was able to pick out three cars in all.... talk about taking one back in time....... I bet the dust is still on your boots.

  15. Folks, Slick97spirit sent me a private email asking me if I happen to have one of these rubber cord clips that is on the gas tank. Being that I dont have one, I told slick97spirit to post his request on the site asking for the rubber clip being that several folks here relocated thier cord to the handle bars. After relocating the cord, the rubber clips were removed from the gas tanks. I told Slick that I am certain many folks would come back and say YES, I have one...... Please......can anyone help him and dropyour unused rubber clip in the mail to him ... Heck, I'll even offer pay the $1.00 postage to ship it to him if it is nessisary. Sure wish my old bike was strill sitting in the driveway........
  16. Dang, and here I thought Burlington sold coats..........
  17. In my opinion only.....I feel that most of those marks on the teeth are a normal wear patteren for the drive shafts of all Ventures including the metal chips found on the drain plug. I have seen it many times on ventures that I have worked on. In the pics, I did not notice any broken teeth, but I will go back and revist each photo. The wear patteren appeared to be excessive in depth on some of the teeth, but that excessive wear may have been from the lack of grease as you so mentioned it as the lack of normal maintenance.
