Eck replied to eazyduzzit's topic in Royal Star and Royal Star Tour Deluxe Tech Talk
Sorry, but your a day late...well a coule days late You should have posted this LAST WEEK.... I was just in Knoxsville over this past weekend with my wife. I could have brought my carb tune with me and did your carbs for you last Friday night or saturday night or even sunday morning. If you cant find anyone to do yours, I will see what arangements you and I can make to meet up in Chatanooga, and I will do them for you there. Afterwards, we can have lunch and our favorite cold drinks. -
Hope your leg gets back to normal soon Lowel. Don't over do it just to show up at a VR rally, or you will be in bed for a long time...!!

Tim, I thought I would suggest this place to eat while vacationing near by. It is about 50 miles north of St. Simons Island. Every time I am even near this place I make sure I stop to eat here. 4 floors high: 1st floor = resturant 2nd floor = resturant, identical to1st floor 3rd floor = lounge and dance floor with live music on weekends 4th story = roof area where you can sit and have your favorite drink as you watch the moon light shining on the river.. One of the BEST darn sea food places ever. Right on the rivers edge. Hint: Ask for a window seat..... Pelican Point Restaurant 1381 Pelican Point Rd NE Townsend, GA 31331 (912) 832-4295 Here is a link to the resturant: http://pelicanpointseafood.com/ Here is a map for you if interested.. http://maps.google.com/maps?saddr=St.Simons%2C+ga&daddr=1398+Pelican+Point+Rd%2C+Darien%2C+GA

8 inch chrome rims may be hard to come by, but do a search on Golf cart accessories. http://www.groovycarts.com/8wheels.html or............... A cheaper route may be something like these chrome spoke rims... http://www.groovycarts.com/chniwhco8in.html

Wish I could make it Skid, but I cant get the extra time off work. If I was able to make it, all I would want for MD, is a good wash and wax job while I eat a large DQ as it is being done........

Bill, I just pulled my harbor frieght trailer with a sears car top carrier on it to Freebirds, (MD), and back to Huntsville. I started with 25 lbs of air the NEW 8 inch tires.. Arriving in southern ohio, I noticed the tread was wearing down fast in the center of tire. I lowered the air to 15 lbs.. On my way home, around southern Ky, I noticed the center of both tires were getting bald and yet lots of good tread were on both outer edges of both tires.. I lowered the air down to 10 lbs...and that is what is in them right now. I had all my tools luggage, two fold up chairs, spare tire and jack, cooler, and lots of other junk in the trailer too. The guy got the trailer from removed two of the the three leaf springs and then he made special angle brackets and installed two mini shock absorbers. I do not have a swivel hitch and at 80 MPH, I could nto tell the trailer was behind me and I never felt the hitch "bottom out" on a side to side motion on any of the curves from here to there and back. I had to keep reminding myself it was back there so that I did not cut a corner to tight.

Boo and Double D, I just spend a good hour searching for the water bottle holder I have on the Walmart site and then I got fed up and called Walmart. Appears they no longer carry the same type that I have but do carry the type that Boo is referring too... If I find another one like mine at any Walmart, Im going to buy it and have it for someone who may want it.

All posts and comments are worth hearing. Everyone wants to say something and be heard but it takes a lot of getting used to, to be able to read between the lines as to what one is really trying to say and know they were not trying to offend anyone. When I read yours, I immediately knew you were not off on a tangent to offend anyone and I think this entire thread has brought out many opinions on why some people do trailer and why some don't. A very good post if you ask me Buddy...!!! In fact, I am borrowing a trailer today to use this weekend to haul my GW up to Knoxsville to spend the weekend up there riding around while my wife goes shopping and doing her thing..

Sure glad you and your wife are ok and the bike is not damaged. 86er came up with a site rule for those who drop thier bikes... you might want to ask him what it is.................

Yep, with all the wires hanging and body parts missing and aluminum patches, it sure looks like a 1st gen to me. Bet it runs on two wheels toooooooooo...but not for long... looks like it would over heat..
