If the rear wheel spins at all it has to be in line with the grears on the hub that it slides into...I mean he has has the thing assembled.. he would not have been able to install the caliper if the gears were not meshed / in line.

The spacer.. that the axle goes through ..located on the right hand side (looking forward), only goes in one way........ If caliper is on correctly like you said and spacer is in correctly my next move would be this (See below link): I do this with out the tire first, then install the tire. Makes installing the tire a whole lot easier because you know the axle is aligned properly before you pick the tire up to install it... http://www.venturerider.org/rearnoise/index.1.jpg

Vibration/Rattle From The Trunk Area

Sleeperhawk,.......dang,..your on your own buddy... I cant protect you from here... -
I was informed that you can rent an open utility trailer from Uhaul for around $15.00 to $17.00 a day.. Now being that I may use a trailer one to three days in a row..and never use a trailer again for 8 to 10 months, I feel this is a real bargain...... I dont have to store, buy plates or pay for insurance on a trailer that is just sitting in my yard where I have to move it every time I want to cut grass..

Welcome aboard...... Jump in anytime ......... and post some pics of that ride of yours. That is rule number 1 here. Got to follow the rules ya know.. And fasten that seat belt for it's gonna be one heck of a ride here.......

Overall dimensions: 9 ft. 6-1/2" I would say NO..........The RSV is 9 ft 4 inches........ appears the 9ft. 6 1/2 inches is from the trailer tounge ball to end of the rear center piece. I dont think it is long enough........ Looking at the trailer all the bike weight would be on the center piece.. It does not look strong enough to withstand sudden shock of bumps and pot holes........ looks like it would colapse under the weight of the bike. The ad doesnt even tell what the max carrying weight is either.

Vibration/Rattle From The Trunk Area
Eck replied to Bobby G's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
Any chance it could be: the stock tool bag and the tools are loose and rattling in side bag? License plate loose? either one of the helmet locks loose? either one of the antenna mounts loose..? Top and or bottom rear shock bolt loose..? Rear caliper loose? Rear muffler clamp loose Rear muffler bracket bolts loose -
What you may have to consider is your problem did not get fixed, and you need to figure out what to do next. DITTO what he said..............sounds like I would be going back to the dealer and let them know it still isnt right.. and I bet you they do not know how to sync the carbs right anyway......
-
Well I will definately weed out the oil change and tires as a possible cause... SO lets look at the remaining things you did. I can only assume you checked the plug gap prior to installing them..and that they are the right type plugs...Now I dont mean to make it sound like your dumb or anything but if you did gap them and they are the correct plugs,we can weed them out. Next, your air filters.. assuming again you removed and replaced them correctly, I can elimiate them too. They can only og back together one way so I would be willing to bet this is correct. This brings me to the carb sync. One question I have to ask is did the bike "spudder" as you so called it BEFORE you did hte carb sync? If not, there lies your problem.. Did you hook the vac hoses back up after syncing the carbs..sorry, but it is a question I have to ask. Are the hoses cracked now that you removed them and reinstalled them? Is your carb sync meter working properly ,,,not sticking or anything...? If the bike ran fine before you did the carb sync, then I would go back and re-sync them again just to be sure I didnt forget something. It only takes 10 minutes to do so it is an easy thing to check. Other than that I am at a loss too....unless your floats are sticking..

I had 67k on mine and they were still good.. but my accident took care of me worrying about the brake pads wearing out.........duh.....

Probably Yamaha hired hackers who were hired to go in and mess up the sites to yamaha manuals and repair information on their bikes.......

Signs of a bad rear shock?
Eck replied to bugfish69's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
The rear shock should hold the air pressure for days.....months.. You can squirt soapy water on the air lines going from the air fitting behind the seat on right side to the shock to see if you can find the leak. Make sure you take the protective cap off in case it is leaking in the valve stem. If you cant find it, you can take it to the dealer for it is covered under your warranty. As for checking to see if your shock is leaking, lay down on the right side of the bike with bike on kickstand. Using your fingers, lift up on the rubber boot around the bottom of the shock. If you see signs of any oil, it's leaking.. -

Yes, it is Tellico Plains, Tn., and we are meeting there at 9:30 to 10am....at the Exxon station. See you there.......

Mike, I can not say for sure if this is your problem, but I would check it anyway to be sure it is not or will not be a future problem.... sorry, but you must take the gas tank off to check this connector out. [ame=http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=32359]Ignition Switch Wiring Failure - VentureRider.Org[/ame] Something else to check or look for: Not sure if you have a back rest. If you do, make darn sure the rear steel brace does not (or has not) pinched the wire harness that is on the front side of your rear fender. The steel bracket / brace will push up against this harness when you sit in the seat and lean back and cause it to short out...just ask me how I know... Stop on the side of the road and pick up a piece of old truck tire. Its just the right thickness..Take a hack saw and cut a small square about 2 inch by 1 inch wide from it and wedge this piece of rubber between the steel brace and your rear fender. Make sure the wire harness is to the side of this rubber piece and not under or over it. Now when you lean back the pressure is on the rubber and nothing will touch the wire harnes again. good luck........
