  1. How fast........... Now that is a loaded question if you ask me. It all depends on if you want to enjoy the ride...or if your pulling it just trying to MAKE TIME.. If it's the latter, you are truely playing rullette because it would be a 50/ 50 chance that something could happen or could not.. So ...if you want to go faster them the posted limits..I guess you have to ask youself... Do I feel lucky today.........

  4. Peggy, Even I as a site moderator I too have had my posts deleted. So I strongly ask that you please dont be offended and please dont take it to heart. I enjoy reading your posts and seeing the photos that you post as well as everyone else here does. I truely cant say it any better then Ceddoo did...your post didnt cause the problem...it was a particular responce that turned your post south... Besides, I really believe what Ruffy would do.......and I'm not so sure any of us could be ready for that.. Ruffy said: If you do then ill just have to post some real nude photos of me.......
  5. Well I had the RSV and loved it. I now have the 1800 and I love it, but it is not near as comfortable (or as easy to work on), as the RSV... For now I will stay with what I have but my be looking at a seat upgrade for my GW and if that works then I will wait for 2012 for the 2000 cc GW. If the seat upgrade does not work, then I just might go back to the RSV, but I will have ot at least try a BMW before I do. The RSV is a great bike even with its quirks of minor issues. The GW has thier too .....believe me..they all do no matter what type yo upurchase.
  6. I see you live in Fl. If you live anywhere close to Sarasota, Fl., I will be down there in Sept. I could in-line fuse / hot wire the GPS wire harness in to your bike and you would still have the cig lighter for something else like a cell phnoe charger..or what ever. I could also help answer any other questions yuo may have about he bike including showing you some " how to do yourself things" on it if you wish. Send me a P-email and I''be happy to help if I can when I get down to Fl.

  8. Yep, someone was definatley watching over you two.. It could have been the both of you over that ravien and your trailer ending up just sitting on the shoulder of the highway and then someone come along and steel it, only to leave you two down in the ravine on your own for days.... Very luck you both are for sure....I am glad to hear it turned out the way it did and you are able to continue your trip of adventures again..
  9. You stay in front of me from now on............I'll be hangin back
  10. I have it in my GW...........and it wont hurt your bike at all.. The stuff is supposed to make it run cooler.. dont know if mine actually does because it had it in it when I bought it.. I do not have any "before / after" heat ratings to compare too....
  11. You will be fine using the 10 weight oil where you live......... it will make it a little easier to start when its cold..but you wont notice it..

    Trip Out West

Glad you guys made it home safe and had no problems Steve. It sure makes a trip more enjoyable when the vehcile does what it is supposed to all the time, every time and you both get back home where you belong safely. Look forward to seeing the pics....
  14. Well, I now understand why I have been crashing so much this year... Feel like a big dummy... Signs 19/20... Obsticals..16/20 I never knew a WHITE "+" sign means Rail Road... I always thought they were Yellow and Black......... AND...I didnt know that the little red hand sign hanging on the tellephone pole for pedestrians actually tell them how many more seconds they have to get thier fat butt across the raod. I have never looked at one of those little red signs when I am on my bike or in a cage..and I never knew it was required for the driver of any vechile to pay attention to that little 10 inch by 12 inch red sign hanging way over there on that light pole that is no where near the intersection that I am about to go through... no wonder I missed this one. And why is the answer of "merging traffic from the right" any different then "another lane coming up on the right"....?? Heck, The darn traffic in th eright lane will eventually merging into my lane anyway... so yep, I missed that one too.. Got to go back and see if I can do any better this time now that I know how they want to play this game....
  15. Terry, I was very cusrious as to why Blue Max has not responded to you, so I did some searching. and this is what I came up with bro. I just contacted J&P Cycles, spoke with Tom, and according to him the Blue Max chairs are available from them. These Chairs are listed under J&P part # 830-549 and they have them in stock. At present time J&P is asking the price of $39.99 plus shipping. I inquired about a "Group Buy" and told Tom about VR.Org and I also gave him my phone number. I told Tom that there are some VR folks interested in the Blue max chairs, but I do not know how many folks want one yet..and that would be based on the group buy price that they give me. Tom is handing my Group Buy Price and minium quatity required request over to his superiors of J&P and Tom said he would have someone return my call with the price and minimum order required. So, if anyone is interested in a "BLUE MAX SADDLEBAG folding chair" please hold on and I will post the information when I receive it http://www.jpcycles.com/Search/ProductDetail?sku=830-549&Ntt=830549&Ntk=product_number&Ne=0&N=0&Ntt=830549&Ntk=All&results=10
  16. Chris, You still stated: I can move it by hand but does get tighter the more i tighten the axle nut. I want you to know this alarms me greatly. Since you already loosened and re tightened the acorn nuts, I do not feel that re-adjusting the acorn nuts is required or that is is your problem now. If it were my bike, this is what I would do. I would have to take it all back apart (sorry) and I would check to see if the dealer by accident, damaged the wheel bearings in any way. I would check to see if the outer edge of the wheel bearings are damaged, and I would check to see if a wheel bearing is "bad" or if it turns with out any grinding or stopping as you slowly turn it with your finger. It should turn (spin) with your finger with no feeling of any binding or grabbing. I suspect two things here now: One (or both) rear bearings is either worn or: Two..When the dealer changed you tire they had to lock the wheel from turning by placing the wheel over a threaded shaft and then tighten a locking wing nut to hold the wheel so they could remove the tire from the wheel. Upon doing this I am wondering if they accidentally dropped your wheel on this shaft and it bent the wheel bearing edge inward thus causing the damage to the bearing. I doubt that the bearing race is damaged but it could be "IF" they took the bearings out (which I doubt they removed the bearings). Please take note: The wheel should not get harder to turn by hand once you tighten the axle nut "period" The only other thing of which I already mentioned is the spacer that fits into the bearing race..if it is in back wards, will cause it to bind, but you said you checked it and it is in correctly. I am very curious as to what is causing your problem so please keep me posted.
  17. That is really some good news John. So glad for you that your getting well and bike riding is back in your life again. Look forward to seeing you at St. Judes.
  18. All mine were purchased at Auto Zone............ @ $9.00 each, and I got a lot of very nice comments about them.
  19. $1,099.99 And the handling and shipping should be included for that price... I just don't see that kind of money fo it thought... I guess they are looking at $300.00 for tires and rims, $300.00 for materials, $400.00 for labor, then include handling & shipping..but wow..that thing is pricey to me. It is a cute lil-bugger though..
  20. DURANGO, CO........plenty of nice roads in the mountains around Durango. Sorry Bill, Didnt mean to hijack your thread. Lets get back to the original post here.. who wants to go to the hub next year.. I'm in........!!!!!!
  21. I agree with Boo completely... out of round or it's not seated properly on the rim.
  22. I wouldnt mind a rally at the four corners.........
  23. Did you happen to have the pins greased while it was apart? If so then the pin hub may not be all the way seated in the wheel hub (if that makes sence). There is a snap ring that must be back in place if you took it apart or had the dealer take it apart. also you said: I can turn the wheel by hand but it wont free wheel Please understand that the wheel will NOT free wheel as if you try to spin it by hand and it keeps turning BY ITSELF.. It just wont do it. It cant. However.. if you can turn the wheel with your hand and then tighten the axle nut to spec, and then you find you can not turn the WITH THE SAME HAND EFFORT.. THEN YOU HAVE SOMETHING INSTALLED WRONG OR THE DEALER ACCIDENTLY BENT SOMETHING ON THE CENTER OF YOUR WHEEL
  24. Look at page 301 on this link. Following as Squidley said you must make sure the spacer that goes into the eseal is in correctly. It only is supposed ot go in one way but can be installed backwards causing your binding... http://labs.trunkful.com/vrmanuals/LIT-11616-12-60.pdf
