Gary, you are a blessed man.. Someone was watching out for you in that you didnt get run over by one of those moving cars changing lanes. Glad to hear no broken bones and that your just a little sore and a few scratches. Those "reminders" will be there for a while but hopefully we will see you back on the road soon.

Ditto what Condor said...............

Normal wear to the rotor surface can cause the small lip. It wont hurt a thing if you just leave it and just install new pads. The Sintered H pads are really tough and they will wear into the rotor causing the lip. I would just replace the pads and ride on.....

Well is was a good turn out for such a dreary outlook for the day. I didnt expect 21 people, but that is how many we had. I certainly do thank every one of you for coming out to this event and sharing your day / time. THANKS!! It has been a while since we had a meet & eat and since our Huntsville breakfast M&E's have all but about ended, I figured I would try a lunch M&E and sure-nuff, it worked..! There were some who came in from TN., and a few of us were talking in about 5 to 6 weeks from now of having a lunch meet & eat up in Nashville, Tn. Ebat took on the task of finding us all a place to eat, and I told him I would get back with him in 4 weeks from now to begin setting this up. I would hope to know that if we rode up to Nashville that many of the Tn., VR members would plan to attend this event with us if they can. I am looking for as many as I can gather up from Ga, Al, and TN to all come to Nashville for this Lunch M&E. More to come later on this event....... We are also planning a fall foliage ride too...... We will keep you posted on this upcoming event also.............!!!!

Unreal..I worked at the Chardon Drug on the circle in Chardon also. I bet she attended the Chardon Maple festivals then in the fall..that was a big thing in that area back then. They boiled sap in the small log cabin on the square and made home made maple syrup by the gallons and maple syrup candy and sold it to everyone.. I grew up in Newbury just south of Chardon, and we took on Chardon in football..... (Oh, and we won all the time..)

Steve, Not to many people know about Burton Ohio.. That was my ol-stomping ground. Did you stop at the ice cream place on the circle? Burton is located between Newbury, my home town, and Middlefield, where a bunch of Amish people live. I worked at the Burton Drug store right there on the circle for 4 years. That town takes you back in time for sure, and the farther east you go the farther back in time you go... I was shocked to see you made it to Burton Ohio.. home of the Burton Fair grounds where I played "huggy bear kissy face", many times when I was a kids..

Air can get trapped behind the clutch center pin behind the plates and the clutch lever will be hard to squeeze or it wont move at all. Ask me how I know.........Well Ok, I'll tell you since you asked.. When I had my clutch plates replaced it happend to mine then. We had to call in the Yamaha mechanic to the house to look at it. He walked in, we told him what we did and now the lever is hard to pull in and it stops about 3/4 of the way in.. He pulled on the clutch lever and it moved a little but that was it. He said, no wonder, you have air in the line.. Just bleed the clutch. We told him we never broke a line or loosened the bleeder. He said, Im telling you that you have air in the line, just bleed it. I loosened the clutch bleeder as he pulled on the lever. I'll be darned..air came out and then fluid. We did this three times til it was just fluid. We filled up the reservoir and the clutch worked perfectly from there after. Have no idea how air got into the system..he never explained it. he got in his truck and went back to the shop and didnt charge me / us a dime. This was in Hamilton, Al.

That is where I was leading my question towards.. If the driver has only put a few miles on the bike since he owned it then his hand may not be used to pulling in on the clutch.. If however, the driver has put several hundered miles on the bike then I would say lets try bleeding the clutch to ensure there is no air in the system and see if that helps ease the strain on his hand..

How many miles do you have on it ??

congatulations Gary............fine folks we have here I would say..

I have seen it many times........ Mine did the same thing in NC. I had to stop and buy a metric bolt while there.. I'ld be willing to bet he has seen it too but just didnt want to admit to it.. It is very common of the Ventures for these bolts to become loose and or fallout. Make sure you used blue locktight when reinstalling them!!

Wow, what a beautiful ride ...... I must say it is a "VERY NICE" paint job..!! I wouldnt worry about copy rights or any of that stuff. I think you have a "one of a kind seat cover" as shown in the 5th picture...

I did mine myself and did everyone of them there after. Two years later radio went out, Dealer didnt hesitate about warrenty issues. About 6 months later the fuel pump went out...Dealer didnt hesitate about any warrenty issues. Rear shock went out, Dealer didnt hesitate about warrenty issues. Doesnt matter who does the first check up........ I would drain and replace the rear gear lube, including greasing the front and rear axle and clean and grease the rear hub pins too. Check all bolts on both sides of rear fender holding rear trunk on. Check bolts on each side bag hinges and both center trunk lid hinges. These are known problem areas with bolts becoming loose. Check the lower chrome piece on front fender for bolts being loose for it will fall off and you will run over it. Same with lower rear fender chrome piece. I would also remove the chrome piece under the windshield and check for any loose screws holding windshield on...

Most any Ace Hardware store carries chrome metric bolts on the shelf and they can get whatever size you want / need even if they have to order it. Lowe's and Home Depot both carry just plain black metric hardware and very few chrome pieces..

You might want to talk with your Geico rep and ask him if your insurance will "pay as you go" if you have any Dr. or hospital bills related to an accident.. Geico does not pay as you go... you have to pay out of your own pocket until you are ALL better... then send them the bills. They then send you all kinds of paperwork asking you to list ever Dr. you have ever seen over your life span and what hospitals you have gone to for whatever ailment...dates, and why you went. They will drag it out for a long time until you get so discusted you just say the heck with it and tell them to forget it. This is how they can give you such low rates..ask me how I know..They STILL have not paid a darn thing for my accident since March 26th of this year. I have paid everything out of my own pocket.. and they just sent me a premium payment bill for another years coverage...HA..
