  2. Sounds like a very neat toy you have there Dennis. Next thing you know, you will be able to see the person you are talking with on the screen... I'm not up to speed with all the newest technology out there. All I know is, no matter what type cell phone either of us have we must stay in touch.. And I want to thank you and Valerie again for lunch last week. I enjoyed seeing you both. I also appreciate and thank you again your offer on my return trip home, but I stayed on I-65 to Nashville.
  3. Hey Don, How long has it been since you rode a "tan" first gen...........??
  4. You and Becky have a safe trip Gene. Enjoyed seeing you both again too. Eck
  5. Glad you both made it home safely. I too just got home. I left yesterday at 3pm, and rode to Summerville, Ky., which is the 2nd north of Tn. I spent the night and left there at 7am and just now made it home.. Glad to be back home....!!!! Want to also thank Don and Ellene for opening their home once again to all of us. Eck

Ah you ol-fart..Now you want to sell it huh..I see how ya are now.. I wanted to buy either one of those two big fans in your barn when I was there, and when I asked you if you wanted to sell one .............I laughed like heck at your answer.. Without hesitation you said, sorry, but that one over there is not for sale and the other one I'm using it...........
  7. Sleeperhawk, I remember the NASA testing days of that design of mower.... The location presently is called the Sahara Desert... During testing days, it was the Sahara FOREST Worked 73 hours already this week, and I am leaving in 10 minutes to work the last day of this pay day.. I will be working another 12 to 14 hours today..85-87 hours this week..
  8. Well George, May..just maybe...your bike is cleaner then mine right now.. I cleaned mine last Sunday and it has been sitting since due to storms passing by every day.. However, I uncovered her today and went out and I do have a few bugs on mine now, but they will come off... Yours is looking really nice guy.. If I still had mine you would have some competition.... I really like mine a bunch.. but its gone and I have to forget about her..
  9. Keep diggin Sleeperhawk... I'm enjoying this...
  10. My sources tell me... There is a possibility that gauges will be where the cassette player was. Wide white wall tires will be in abundance and readily available. Raven is out..........Canary Yellow wont happen....but Snow white is in... Fog lights will be standard issue..... on all snowmobiles.. The standard clock will be relocated for better viewing...yes, located under the Bright light indicator. The fuel drip plate will be mounted on the right hand side of the rear valve cover for those who just happen to get off the right side of their bikes. Rear shocks will ...ops. this wont happen.. Two cylinders will shut down automatically when sitting next to Harley's in possible over heat mode.. We want to be just as well appreciated as Harleys are.. Weather band will be available... a small flat (chrome plated) rock will be mounted on top center of gas tank.. if it is wet it is raining, if dry you can ride ....safely.. Rear hub will have grease Zerk fittings installed to enable one to lube drive pins with out removal of rear wheel. Fuel filters will be mounted on left side of gas tank between gas tank and drivers seat for ease of changing it out. Must use shut off valve to change it out. Electric fuel pumps will be the same model pump as a Chevy Silverado, so you can easily purchase one at your local auto parts store. Rear lights will be factory installed on rear of both saddle bags with "quick disconnects in wiring for ease of bag removal..color coded too with male and female plugs so you cant screw it up.. Driver and passenger seats will have standard factory issued "AIR BAGS" inside them with separate air valves so one can add or remove air in their seat to adjust for their comfort preference. The 12 volt Electric outlet will be relocated next to the right front speaker for ease of plugging something in while your riding down the road...and one will be installed on the back of every factory purchased back rest for the passenger to charge their cell phone. Garage door openers will be factory installed.. You pull into your garage under the garage door opener, and program it right there..one time,, and it never needs a battery...it uses your 12 volt system on the bike. An automatic "WAVING HAND" will be OME and installed on left side of fairing behind the left fog light. A button will be located on drivers left grip and all you do it push the button and a hand and half an arm swings out to wave at all the other bikers. You can upgrade this system with an auto bike detector and it automatically swings out to wave every time it receives a signal a bike is coming by.. Yea, its all a joke but I enjoyed dreaming while I typed...
  11. After my bad accident last year Bill, I don't think I want to play with that thing.. Way to much power for this guy..Back when I was younger and raced on the drag strip, I would have been interested in it for sure.. Looks really sweet Bill..real nice..

  15. Everyone has an opinion, so here is mine. I would never haul a pet in a trailer of any kind behind my bike. Reason being, if you don't think your bike spits out exhaust fumes, close the door on your garage for just 1 minute A pet hauled behind a bike is caged in for the duration of the ride and yet a dogs nose can smell 20 times stronger / better then any human-being.. So what d o I really mean: Multiply the 1 minute in your garage by 20 TIMES stronger smell to your test and tell me if and try breathing... YOU would want to be tied up in any type of cage behind any motorcycle..I say NOT. Ok, I am done, sorry..I will go back to my room now..
  16. Hey Jim, Hope your enjoying your trip. Just watch your back... If you have time, maybe you could rent a bike over there for a day or two.. No need to worry about LA.. he is like an ol-dog chasing a hub cap.. once he caught it all he could do is bark and go back to the porch. If you find anything that say's Coke a cola on it from over there, and you have room to pack it, I would surely pay you for it. Hope you have a safe trip. Eck .
  17. Randya, Sure glad you didn't hit that deer or any deer on your bike. I don't think you need any bodily harm at this time in your life. I am hoping you have a fresh start with nothing but enjoyable adventures come your way for many years to come. I look forward to seeing you soon.
  18. You better get started now then.. lots of work to change the rear shock. Lets see:You must remove the seat, the front top shroud completely, now your gas tank, side covers, and the rear wheel just for starters..you should then be able to get to the rear shock. while tore apart this far I highly recommend you change the air filter if one is needed. PS; Like Snarley Bill, I have never had any issues with my rear shock and I own an 02. Does your shock hold air in BOTH of it's memory settings?
  19. I have used my Harbor freight lift ($150.00 lift) to pick up my GW. I used this same lift on my RSV and on several members RSV's. http://www.harborfreight.com/media/catalog/product/cache/1/image/370x/9df78eab33525d08d6e5fb8d27136e95/i/m/image_3029.jpg The GW can be lifted exactly like the RSV, using the same exact lift you presently use with out any adapters. If you don't feel safe about it, you can strap the GW to the lift as well as you can the RSV. On the RSV you need spacers to level the bike on the lift. On the GW you need nothing. I choose to use my center stand in place of the lift, for there is really nothing I need to do that requires the bike to be lifted any higher.
  20. Well, this is not your requested "ladies point of view", but it may shed some light on what you are looking for. Create a packing list of everything you want to take and begin thinking of where it will be placed on the bike. Depending on how much you take and available ROOM you have, clothes should be tightly rolled up to assume the smallest space. Use your packing list (#1 above) to place items in the various storage areas. Include your jacket as a storage area (use the pockets if need be). Evenly distribute the load on the left and right sides of your bike. You can even weigh the bags on a bathroom scale to accomplish # 4 above which makes it easier to handle the bike. Don't put too much weight on the back of the bike. You don't want your front wheel coming off the ground...(see your owners manual if in question) After all necessities are loaded, place your rain gear somewhere on top even if they placed in a bag and secured by bungee cords. You don't want to have to unpack everything when it starts to rain. Double check your list to ensure everything is on-board. Place your packing list in your jacket or other readily available spot. Tips: Use removable bags in your saddlebags to be able to easily move the contents from your bike to a motel or campsite. Always place items you don't want to get wet in plastic zip-type bags. Try to keep items you need on the road in a place where they can be easily accessed. Remember: Packing a motorcycle for a trip, especially a long one where you need more stuff, is not an easy task. It takes planning and preparation. It also requires you to consider taking items that are not really needed. In a car. If you think you might need it, you go ahead and throw it in the trunk and don't think twice about it. If you did that with a motorcycle, you'd need a trailer to carry everything. One more thing. I suggest you also carry a couple garbage bags for your dirty clothes. This way you don't have to pack the used/ smelly dirty clothes with the clean fresh unused clothes. Plus, you also have the second garbage bag in case you need to protect anything from the rain... Good luck on your trip Eck
