  1. Sure would have enjoyed eating a nice big hamburger with you guys..... We will be coming your way some day...but not today.. We have a few things to do around the house here, then leave for Sarasota on Sat Sept 11th to go see my parents. Miss you guys...and we miss Jackie and Brock too...tell them we said hi.
  2. great news... good for you.. enjoy it while you can...never know what tomorrow holds
  3. I figured that was what you would be doing... I do the same thing.. make a mess with all the changes until it fits right and does what is intended,,then shoot for the eye candy appearance after wards..
  4. At first, I thought you were making a heal toe brake lever..Good job.
  5. If you want happiness for an hour -- take a nap. If you want happiness for a day -- go fishing. If you want happiness for a month -- get married. If you want happiness for a year -- inherit a fortune. If you want happiness for a lifetime -- help someone else.
  6. Now that is one unique piece of equipment..Very cool.. thanks for posting it. I want two of them..
  7. While I was with LA he was in really good spirits. I dont think there is an end to his adventurous stories..heck he could write a book and sell it here.. La is wearing a heart monitor and had an appointment at 1pm with the Dr. for more testing. He is ok as long as he doesn't exert himself. If he does his heart beat goes out of whack.. if he just sits and talks, he is his ol-humorous self, and you would not know he has a heart problem. I think after a few more tests and visits with the Doc, he will be up and running with us again..
  8. Update: I arrived in Springfield, Mo last night at 10:30pm. Got very little sleep thanks to the motel being next to a rail road that I didnt know about.. Got up and started for his place and my GPS decided it was time for it's last words... In 3/10ths of a mile, Turn right onto N lyon avenue....arrrrrivvvvviiiing aaaaaatttttt 22224444222288, and the whole screen when out and that was that..but that was certainly strange it did that..I tried several times to get it to work, said the heck with it. Met with LA at 7:30am, had coffee with him on his front porch and we yaked about past history rides, all the great VR people we know and met, and discussed some future hopes and wishes for both of us. LA wa feeling spunky, so he road with me to go pick up his trailer, then we headed to where his bike was. I got it loaded up and tied down on the trailer while he visited with his niese. We left and went back to his house where he gave me the phone number of the mechanic and the street address.but he didn't know the town or city name but said it was in Tennessee some place... Off I went, stoped at Wal Mart and bought a new GPS, (Nuvi), found the repair place, dropped the bike and trailer off, and headed home. I arrived home at 9:30pm.. Lowells bike will be getting repaired next week.
  9. I will let someone else organize and handle / work out the donation(s) as to who, where or how. I will be heading to Lowell's place to pick up his bike and take it to Covington, Tn to the Kawasaki repair man.
  10. Folks, I appreciate all the offers of help and the offers for donations, but right now I am not sure what the fix will be until I speak to John. To answer Tom's question above... Sorry Tom, I do not have pay pal Right now I am not sure if we need to Remove the pan and weld it, or Replace it.. I don't know what size bike he even has... 1200 I think. Then again, just taking it the guy Lowell spoke of and let him fix it may be the way to go..? I will post more after I speak to Dooder1 (John).
  11. I just have to give my opinion now.. As some of you know, I started and maintain the free parts section of this site. For about 3 and a half years I paid all postage out of my pocket no matter what the part requested was, or how much it weighed. I know this was MY doing, and not anyone elses..however I learned from it and want to share something that relates to your problem. Short and to the point. Dont worry about the little things.. I found that by just paying the $8.00 $10.00 or $15.00 for shipping there was never any argument between me and the requester. I have paid to ship parts to the requester only to have him return them to the sender for which I had to pay the shipping again..this has happened three times to me.. I just pay it and never say anything about it and a few days later, I feel good inside. I have learned to do what makes ME feel good.. SO..I ask you to do the same..Do what will make you feel good inside and never worry about the "little things" Life is way to short to worry about a couple bucks... I am sure you (as well as I have) spent money foolishly over the years buying this or that and never really needed it..
  12. Your just down right cold hearted ...Yep, your just being a bad bad boy today..
  13. Good joke there Trader, but Muffinman was not in the military this time over there..he was playing a mechanic role making people think he knew what he was doing... QUOTE=Trader;505512] Hey Muffin Man..... you know why some women marry a military man ? you know how to cook you know how to make the bed AND YOU KNOW HOW TO TAKE ORDERS! :rotf:
  14. Welcome home Jeff.. Let me know when you get the things to do list worked down to where you can ride.. I am going to Sarasota Fl in the next two weeks, to see my dad who is not doing well. After that, I will be able to ride..wherever..whenever..(maybe go fix LA's bike for him) and then continue on some place else.. Who wants to go Riding I am looking forward to getting some good riding and good food into me as long a Mini is up for it I am sure that the miles will rack up on the bike.
  15. Don, I personally do not think that a 15 day free trial is long enough for a new person to decide if they want to join or walk away. It took me about 3 months before I felt comfortable to join this site and the 90 days (or so) gave me antiquate time to attend a local meet & eat to see and meet some VR members and get that warm feeling to join. I really feel you might be hurting yourself (or the site) with such a short time to decide to become a member. Just my 2 cents Boss
  16. Please be patient everyone.. LA and I have been playing phone tag, and at present...he is it.. LA was just recently released from the hospital and is back at home now. He is having some heart issues and is resting and taking his medication. He could use your thoughts and prayers. Lets flood him with our thoughts and best wishes by sending him a get well card to the below listed address. It would surely lift his spirits. L.A. Pryor / Wild Hair 2428 N. lyon ave Springfield, Mo. 65803
  17. I bought mine around May of last year for my wing. Got mine at Wally World. I use it very often and I also place the beaded seat, on top of the gel pad seat for a different configuration and feel... When I get tired of riding one way, I remove the beads and use only the gel pad.. then I may even remove the gel pad and ride on the stock seat.. It is nice to be able to change them around for comfort variations.
  18. I got to where I used my front brake all the time and never used the rear brake unless in wet weather or going down hill on a dirt road.. The front pads last a long time. The rear pads on the RSV dont last long no matter what kind you put on it. I never liked the rear brakes on the RSV.
  19. Hey George, I just finished cleaning mine (now that I have my garage back), and I found lots of shiny chrome I didn't know I had..(or forgot it was chrome from all the dirt). You might want to start thinking about upping the anny on your accessory insurance coverage with all that chrome. (I am buying stock in bike cleaning supplies).
  20. Good biker you are for letting him know. To clear things up a little, not all Harley's leak oil either...and I know that was not implied in your post, but some may take it that way. I know of a few Yamaha's that leaked oil..ain't that right Dragonrider....
