Here is wishing you a safe journey my friend.. One other thing.. Make darn sure you dont leave your Credit card in your shirt pocket again......

(quote) Usually there is a delay maybe a minute till it shuts off............... Your light delay relay is going bad...auto parts stores carry the relays and many auto parts stores will also show you where the relay is and help you remove and replace it for no charge..should be more then $30 bucks to replace it..or you can by-pass it.. I did a seach and found this for you.. Hope it helps.. http://home.insightbb.com/~todd.kenyon/delay.htm

Quote: The HID light came with it's own plug to that pluged into the light housing. Cant you just unplug the HID light from the stock light housing and end up with what you had in the first place?

would it not be the same cord/ wires/ light socket to run either light bulb, no matter which one you used? You have me stunned...

In my opinion, I feel you would burn the air compressor up due to the amount of volume needed to fill a large tire compared to that of a small air bag inside a shock.. Pressure wise it would be comparable, but volume output I think it would have to run and run and run where it would eventually get really hot and either blow a fuse, or burn the motor up

I think you are referring to the GL1500...not the newer GL1800 I know of no compressor on the GL1800s. The front suspension doesn't have air adjustment and the rear uses an electrically activated hydraulic pre-load adjustment instead of the old air shock system. This compressor you speak of may be an added on board accessory to the 1800...I have seen a few 1800's with an air chuck mounted in the trunk and a hose coiled up in a side bag ready for use if needed..this mod was done by the owner and was not standard equipment.

I'm guessing to say it is your ignition switch shorting out..even though the dash lights don't come on, electricity is by-passing if you left the accessory switch turned on.. Have him (or you can) pull the gas tank..with meter on battery, check voltage draw with key in the off position, then just unplug the ignition switch, do not touch the key, and with meter check voltage draw again..

I just pull over on the right side, slow down and wave them on when it is safe for them to pass. Sometimes I will just slow down and wave my arm back toward them telling them to get off my butt..

Hey Gene, Can you see me now..........?

Lewis, So sorry your day started so bad...hate when that happens..have had a few of those days myself over the years..Glad things worked out better for you as the day unfolded.. maybe this will make your day even a little better.... I think I still happen to have the brand new cable assemblies (clutch and throttle) off of my step son's (John) Yamaha Silverado 1700. If you remember, we removed the stock handle bars and cables and we installed those long ape hangers that I hated... Anyway, I am certain I have the stock cables in the attic of my work shop out back, I will go look after it quits raining and if I still have them, I want you to have them. They should be the same length as the ones you just put on yours. I think they are anyway..

We had a nice gathering of VR family last night. B2Mom and B2Dad Sleeperhawk and Bobbie, Dennis and Valerie, Mike and Denise, Konnie and Eck, and RandyA gave us all a surprise when he came in from around the corner and stood at our table. What a shocker it was to see him. We all ordered meals, told stories and caught up on our past since last seeing eachother, then we made some plans for today to go for a ride and see what kind of trouble we could all get into. Bobbie took many photos and I'm certain they will be posted at a later time. Her and George went to their room to cellibrate their anniversary in the hot tub, while the rest of us tokk cold showers and went to sleep.. I may have to call and wke them up if we dont see them by 9am in the motel lobby... Appears 1rooster is also on his way to Pigeon Forge today to join us, so if anyone else wants to come out and play, just show up at the Red Roof Inn located in PF at 9:30am Denise and Mike went back home last nigth to north of Knoxville, but they said they just may come back over this morning and go riding with us if he can get his tire on in time.. (hope so) Hope to see you there. Eck
