    I'm Done

I'm about fed up with Garmin products myself... My Garmin 550 had to be sent back within 6 months after I bought it. It worked fine for another 6 months and back it went again for the same thing, Then I wrecked my 05 which took care of that Garmin 550 (smashed it all up). After I bought my GW I purchased a Garmin 7200 LARGE SCREEN.SOme of you saw it at Freebirds and called it my TV...That thing worked great for about 1 year and then it went out. The touch screen quit working on it. Then I bought a Garmin 1300 two months ago when I was at LA Pryor's place. Last weekend it started messing up. I can see the little car in the screen, but there are NO ROADS shown at all...just the car.. I tried to zoom out and back in, unplugged it and turned it back on but no roads show. Then after about an hour of just leaving it alone, the roads show up but as soon as you try to program it in any way or search for a road, all the roads disappear..What good is it.. For what Garmin charges for these things you would think the product would last longer then 2 to 6 months.. I just may go back to my personal GPS ..
  2. When cleaning your bike, do you WASH and WAX your Venture bell.............. I do........

    How Long??

I joined in mid April 05 (I think it was) .. I just bought my 05 Venture and found the site, which was before the site crashed.. I remember how all of us were in shock that morning not being able to sign on to VR.ORG.. What a way to ruin your day huh...? Then all of us began scrambling in all our home computers trying to locate and replace all the tech articles back on the site...what a mess it was, but thanks to Don it was up and running again in no time and has been here ever since (Thank Don..I mean GOD)...

    Whats it called?

Yep, that is what you need Sleeperhawk..a little more CHROME on that ride of yours...
  7. Sure glad your able to write and tell us about it.... The bike can always be fixed or replaced.
  8. You could try this simple (10 minute) "adjustment" to see if the howling sound quits.. Pictures are included on how to do it in this link... http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=1705

    Whats it called?

It looks like a chrome plate that only COVERS the horn...
  10. If you are certain he wired it to the same wires on both bikes... then I am certain the light itself is wired differently. I would disconnect each wire except the ground. One wire at a time, hook it up and see if the light works as it should then go on to the next wire until you find which wire is not correct.

  12. check out the size of the gas tank on the AJS model... hate to fill that thing nowadays.. probably only cost $2.00 to fill it back then...
  13. Question: If you were traveling at speed of light and you reached down and turned on your driving lights, would you be able to see them....?
  14. I agree with Bubber.... I'd be most careful agreeing with Bubber...you could get into some deep doo-doo
  15. Quote: Last week he installed the same module & LED's in my 2009 Venture and gets different results. My first question for clarity is: Did he (or you) remove your old DYNAMIC module set from your OLD bike and install it on the NEW bike?....or did he install the same TYPE of DYNAMIC MODULE on your NEW bike? IF it is the same module (removed from old bike and installed on new bike) then only ONE of two things can be wrong. (1) He made a mistake when he wired it up on your new bike (which I feel he did)..or (2) The 09 bike is wired differently then your older bike (which I truly doubt). IF..he installed a "same type of module" on your new bike then the NEW module must be wired differently then the older installed module..
  16. Here's wishing you well on your road to recovery..
  17. Don, Your like the Ever-ready battery rabbit... always going, going and going.. It would be a very useful feature I think.
  18. Go glad to hear your riding again my good friend. Just don't over do it...hope you get all your ailments behind you where you can ride for many miles again. Maybe one day you can follow me to make sure I get where "we" want to go.. Eck
  19. Congratulations to you Gary and to your family. Hope all are doing well. Save all his used diapers and give them back to him at HIS wedding....
  20. You made my day..........Not so sure about George's ..............
  21. Right hand is better for me. I feel somewhat "uneasy" / "insecure" when leaning real far to the left..
  22. I would suggest you go back to the store with a gas can and get a $1.00 worth of the bad gas, then take it to an attorney, where he will charge you about $100 to send them a "drive by letter".. They would rather pay the bill then go to court..when you have proof that their gas is bad. So sorry for all your trouble bro..
  23. This is a common problem with the rear brake pads on the RSV... After you replace them, just keep your eye on the outside one for wear.. Once the outside pad is about half way wore down, just pull it apart and "swap" them around..put the inside pad on the outside and the outside pad on the inside and you can twice the miles out of a set of rear brake pads before having to replace them again.
