  1. I removed the marker lights, and then setting the depth with a drill stop, I drilled holes in the back of the marker light without hitting the iinside of the front lens. Then I installed 12 volt led lights using black RTV to seal the lights in the drilled holes. Worked like a charm.. In fact, I also installed brake led lights in the rear marker under the license plate.
  2. The way you started your post, I thought you finally found whatever you were looking for in your GARAGE...but then after seeing the photos of your garage.....I knew youmeant something else..
  3. I bought (5) of these coins last week for all the kids in the family. 4. Bill, No offence, but I think this is the one......... I'm looking at one...but in a different color...
  5. Im still working on attending... Looks like I can make it so far, but work load /schedule might get in the way..I will be ticked if it does..
  6. I do not think there is a way to cut it with out it unraveling..at least I know of no way to do it.. On mine, the clear string/ twine whatever it is called, broke... I purchased some strong "fishing string" and I have a large furniture sewing needle that has a large eye..which I used. I had to sew mine all back up... that was last year, and it just broke again about a three weeks ago... Some of the wood beads fell out and are now lost so, I am about to purchase another beaded seat cover for my GW.
  7. I'd be afraid of those that do have one on thier bike..I dont think it would be very safe.. I mean, just knowing most of the guys on this forum, they would be more interested in "playing with thier putter"........... then watching where they are going... not to safe....
  8. that sure gives it an aerodynamic sleek appearence.. I like it. Nice job!!!!!!!
  9. By the spacing of the two (very used) mounting holes I would say they are for a Goldwing. There are two side strips on a GW that the baker wings attach to, and the two attach holes on the GW are about that same spacing but I can only go by the pictures. If you dont need or want them, send me an email on what you would like for them. Not sure I can use them but who knows..I have been known to be a little creative....
  10. You should have set a completion date with the contractor in the signed contract.. For every day he is past the completion date, he pays you a fine..like $50.00 a day... You can bet your butt he will finish on time..

Bill, I am desperately trying to get that Friday, Sat & Sunday off... I sure hope I can.. I would enjoy having that morning coffee with you again.
  12. Your response was "lighter" then mine would have been...
  13. Lewis, For all the things you and Charlene do for others you both do not desever all this. God please touch these people and make that dark cloud disapear..
  14. If it wasnt such a PIT-butt to remove some of the plastic..the GW would definately cook a meal.. Now you have me thinking..Hummmmmmm..Yummmmmm
  15. OK Lewis, I am done... I have one heck of a nice route planned for our Saturday morning to mid afternoon ride. Heck, I cant wait ...I want to ride it now.. I'm even trying to get Konnie to ride with me once again for this one.. Ok, the first part of the ride includes many back roads (35-45 mph), one potty stop, and later a gas potty & snack stop. We will be eating back at Vogel so I do not plan to eat much. everyone fend for themselves though.. 2nd part of this ride is a non stop...so everyone must fill up when I stop for gas, you better get gas too.. because I am NOT going to push you.. The 2nd part of this ride includes; several (ZOOMED IN) back roads (25-45 mph) with a few main roads (55 mph) to get there..then more (Zoomed in) back roads (more 25-45 mph) and this road takes us through the wooded mountains including along the entire length of a beautiful lake (again 35-45 mph) maybe even a quick stop for a group photo... We will end up on Hwy 129 (55-60 mph) where we can stopp again for potty and fill ups with gas then head back to Vogel so that we arrive by 2:15 pm Eck
  16. Lewis, I deleted one of your posts (above) since it was a duplicate.. FYI... I spent most of my day today routing out a really neat ride for Vogel for Saturday morning and we should be back by 2:30pm. A little sample of it: 8am kickstands up & head SOUTH out of of Vogel..then shortly after we turn and head east on some really cool paved back roads that I really had to ZOOM IN ON.... NOTE: I do not think anyone has ever taken these back roads while at Vogel in past years..all are paved though... After a little ride on these backroads, we end up in Helen, Ga., "HOWEVER" Please make note: this is only for a potty stop / gas top off for those (like me) who want to top off thier tank.. 10/15 minutes tops in Helen and we are OFF again..heading south out of Helen.. Then again ...we will be taking some more nifty paved back roads that I ZOOMED IN ON and we will head east, north, east and so on...Sorry, but I dont want to spoil anyone on HOW we end up in Franklin , NC.. but we do..It should be about 10:30am when we arrive in Franklin. In franklin, we will have a 1 hour stop over for the ladies to shop and the men to snack..since since we will be eating back at Vogel in a few hours.. After the 1 hour stop over, we leave Franklin but we will NOT be taking HWY 64...again we wil be taking some ZOOMED IN ON paved backroads where we end up 60 miles later in Andrews, NC which is just NORTH of Murphy, Nc. It should then be 12:30 /1pm..then we head back to Vogel arriving very close to 2:15pm.. Lewis, The closer it gets to Vogel the more I will know if I can make it. I really think I can though, but not sure yet. If I can;t I will send you the directions of the above road trip..and hope someone else can enjoy leading the pack through these back roads.
  17. No sticker on my bike either, but this is a good idea.. I "always" carry one in my right side bag..Why the right side bag..?? Because it is easier to get to the left side bag when bike is on it's kick stand.. It has come in handy several times..
  18. I agree it is a nice shirt...but Don's umbrella appears to be on the small side.........
  19. As Tom and others have said...no need to remove lower cowl.. I use my hand for turning filter and a box wrench for oil plug.. no need to wrench the oil filter on real tight. when it bottoms out turn by hand 3/4 turn and it never leaks or comes off until you want to take it off, then you can use your hand to turn it and take it back off. Sometimes a litle UMPH is required, but it will come off...
  20. (Quote).... Hoping Eck comes up with one.. Lewis, I am still working on a planned ride, but mine will NOT be on Thursday. Heck, I wont get off work until 12am Thursday night... AND, "IF" I can get that Friday (and weekend off), I will be leaving for Vogel early Friday morning.. The ride I am planning will be for Saturday morning. Kick stands up 8am, ride, lunch, ride, ride and a little more riding, then kick stands go back down at Vogel around 4pm. Hope this is A-OK with you. As I mentioned, even if I can not make it to Vogel, someone else can lead this ride. I will map it out and send it to you.. If I can make it........ I will let you know way ahead of time..! I already mapped the route, just have to find the potty stops and a Gas station. (I could have said find a place to let out the "gas" & go "potty"..)
  21. Hey Eck...its all for you buddy!!! Nice chrome tree ...(Thanks BoBo) Table to lay out parts prior to polishing- sounds like a good plan to me...... 22. Lewis, Knowing you the way I do, you are more worried about making sure Vogel happens and is the big a hit you want it to be this year, more then you are concered about your own personal health issues. That is Lewis my friends. I wish I could take over entirely for you on setting up and running Vogel this year so that you would not have to worry about it at all my friend, but I just can't, since I just started this new job. Only been a Boeing employee again for two weeks.. I would like to ask everyone reading this that if you can help Lewis in any way by taking on ANY of the responsibilities that are required to get Vogel off the ground this year, I am certain Lewis would never ask for this help but he would appreciate all the help he can get. Give Lewis a call or send him an email if yuo can help with anything. Not sure what you can do, call or email him and ask him. I certainly would not want to hold this 4 to 5 day event with the problems Lewis is facing. Would you...? Lewis, I will be speaking to my boss in the next couple days to see if there is any way I can get off on that Friday,Sat and Sunday for Vogel weekend, to help you with what I can. If he does let me take off, I will be there Friday afternoon. I have no clue what I can do to help you Lewis, but if I can get that weekend off, I will contact you via phone or email in search of an assignment of your choice that you would want to off load to me. In the mean time I wish you the most of comfort and strength to address your personal health issues. Eck
